The mission of Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is to champion the interests of local business. In a community like Jackson Hole, the variety of
programs and initiatives that we employ to accomplish this mission are as unique as the Members of our Chamber.
In the last year, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has marked a number of milestones.

A leading indicator of the strength of our programs, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce earned Four Star Accreditation with the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce placing the organization among the top 2% of Chambers in the United States. Membership is at an all-time high with over 40% market
penetration, more than double the national average. As the home to America’s best idea, Yellowstone National Park, the Jackson Hole Chamber of
Commerce has led the charge for Teton County to be recognized as a Global Sustainable Tourism Council Early Adopter, only one of six world-wide
and the first Chamber to become certified sustainable. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has also been fortunate to work with the Jackson
Hole Travel & Tourism Joint Powers Board to strengthen and invigorate our economy through successful events, progressive and proactive visitor
services, and dynamic domestic and international destination sales. Additionally, through strong community collaboration and outreach programs
such as Great Until 8, Buy Local, and others, we are uniting a community around viable initiatives for the businesses of Jackson Hole.
The Chamber is fiscally well-positioned and is committed to being your business advocate. I would personally invite you to peruse the following pages and learn about the story of the
Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Fiscal Year 2011-12. Our Members and our community are invited to reach out to me and to other members of the Jackson Hole Chamber
of Commerce Board of Directors and Staff. Just as we celebrate our successes, please know that improvements and innovations are at our forefront. I thank you for your insight, energy,

Your team at the Jackson Hole Chamber and I are pleased to present the 2012
December Quarterly Report. One topic we will discuss is how our lodging
tax funding is helping us deliver our commitment to our Members. Support
for Events and Destination Sales Tradeshows help drive tourism dollars to our
businesses and support for Visitor Services helps take care of our visitors once
they arrive. The Chamber could not perform these essential activities without
the support from the lodging tax.

Jackson Hole Winter Wonderland: A New Tradition
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is
pleased to announce that Jackson Hole Winter
Wonderland, a weekend of holiday shopping
and cheer, which will be held Friday, December
7 and Saturday, December 8. A weekend to
share with family and friends, experience the
unique shopping within Teton County. One of
the highlights will be the Dancers’ Workshop
production of “If The Shoe Fits,” an original
adaptation of Cinderella, at Jackson Hole Center
for the Arts.
Local shops will feature a magical holiday
atmosphere and extended hours, until at least
8:00pm, just in time to shop for Christmas!
Festivities will continue during the
Christmastime Holiday Week December 21-Janary 2. Businesses, tell us your plans! Jackson Hole Chamber
of Commerce staff have been canvassing business throughout the valley in the last few weeks so that a list of
participants and events can be promoted to holiday shoppers. Will you offer extended hours? Do you have
something special planned? Let us know! A variety of businesses are utilizing the Winter Wonderland energy
to boost business by offering their shoppers visits from Santa Claus, refreshments, and special deals.

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce believes that special events celebrate the cultural heritage and spirit of our community that delights local
residents and attracts visitors. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Special Events Department is proud to partner with the Jackson Hole Travel &
Tourism Joint Powers Board to support some of the key festivals and events
throughout the year. Successful events in the 2011-12 Fiscal Year will receive
continued support in the next year.

Visitor Services:
The Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Joint Powers Board shows a commitment to
connecting visitors with the resources they need before they arrive and when they
are in town. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Visitor Services Department represents a vital connection to visitors. Agents connect these visitors and
many potential visitors with Chamber Members who will provide lodging, activities, dining, and more! The Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board supports key
Visitor Services activities. Funding was primarily used for staffing at visitor center
locations in the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Administrative Office near
Town Square and at the Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center on
North Cache. Visitor Services agents provided assistance to more than 329,000
people who asked for business resources while in Jackson Hole, including the
visitors who generated more than $559 million in destination spending in Teton
County.

Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Milestones
United States Chamber of Commerce Four Star Accreditation
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce received a Four Star Accreditation by the US Chamber of Commerce. This places the
Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce in the top 2% of 6,936 chambers of commerce in the United States. The Jackson Hole
Chamber of Commerce is the only accredited chamber of commerce in Wyoming and part of an elite group of 152 chambers
of commerce nationwide that have been validated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Accreditation Program as “having solid
programs, demonstrating clear organizational procedures, and as being a catalyst for positive action in the community.”
The US Chamber of Commerce stated, “The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has demonstrated a good track record of operating a successful chamber and
achieving desirable results for its members. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to accredit the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce with our 4-Star designation. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!” The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce improved upon its 2006 Three Star Accreditation. Former Jackson Hole Chamber of
Commerce Executive Director Tim O’Donoghue stated, “Since 2006, we have worked at continuous improvement of our Member services, organizational capabilities and performance, and effectiveness at championing the interests of local businesses, enhancing their prosperity, strengthening the economic climate of Teton County, and being an active
contributor to the interests of business in the State of Wyoming. We are pleased to have received this accreditation and high-level recognition of our work and organization. I
also believe our accreditation is a reflection of the excellence present in our business and overall community.”
Global Sustainable Tourism Council Early Adopters Program
Teton County, Wyoming was selected by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) to participate in the Sustainable Tourism Destination
Early Adopters Program. The GSTC represents the world’s leading travel companies, hotels, country tourism boards and tour operators, and agencies of
the United Nations including the UN World Tourism Organization, UN Environment Program, and UN Foundation.
With 24 cosigning federal agencies, local government, businesses, and nonprofits, the Chamber applied for Teton County to be one of the
destinations chosen by the GSTC to launch the most widely accepted sustainable tourism criteria and certification standards developed for destinations.
These criteria and standards address sustainable destination management; maximizing social and economic benefits to the host community and minimizing negative impacts; maximizing benefits to communities, visitors and cultural heritage and minimizing negative impacts; and maximizing benefits to the
environment.
Sustainable Travel International Bronze Certification
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce earned the Sustainable Travel International (STI) Bronze certification. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is the first Chamber or Destination Marketing Organization to become certified in the world by STI’s Sustainable Tourism Education Program.
Joining an elite international group, the Chamber also celebrates the efforts of Alpine House Lodge & Cottages, Grand Teton Lodge Company, and the
Wort Hotel for participating in Sustainable Travel International’s eco-certification program. This program recognizes the Chamber and these businesses
for being sustainable and responsible businesses with best practices that address environmental, economic, and social impacts guided by the philosophy of
the triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.
Individual businesses and organizations may complete the STI certification process to become more sustainable, enjoy the economic benefits of becoming more sustainable, and show a commitment to sustainable travel and to leverage efforts to reach consumers concurrent with Teton County’s work
with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) to participate in the Sustainable Tourism Destination Early Adopters Program.

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce knows that engaged Members are Members who receive the greatest return on their investment. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce
works to keep Members informed about upcoming opportunities through weekly emails, social media, and direct mail. “Your Chamber Quarterly” is distributed via the Jackson Hole
News&Guide and has an annual distribution of 31,200. Digital copies of the newsletter are distributed in the Lowdown E-Newsletter and are available on www.jacksonholechamber.com.

Santa on the Square: A Festive Community Tradition
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is pleased
to present Santa on the Square each evening from 5:00-7:00pm
from Saturday, December 15 through Monday, December 24.
This festive community tradition draws shoppers downtown
during the darkest nights of the winter season.
Town Square will be lit with thousands of glittering
lights and the Stage Stop Building on the southwest corner
of the square will be as warm and cozy as Santa’s workshop!
Children are invited to bring their wish lists and parents are
reminded to bring their cameras.

Remember Chamber Bucks for the Holiday Season!
Individuals and businesses are encouraged to help boost business in
Jackson Hole with the local gift certificate program, Chamber Bucks! Anyone
who receives the certificates will spend them at local businesses.
Businesses: Customers will present the certificates to your business as
payment for services or goods and the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce will
reimburse the entire amount. Call the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce
Administrative Offices at 307.733.3316 with any questions! Reimbursements
will be made within 15 days. Shoppers: Spend your Chamber Bucks at
participating retailers and keep your bucks in Jackson Hole! Remember, they
expire one year from the issue date!
