Driving in New Zealand is so easy and very safe! Our roads are of an
excellent quality, directions are well signposted and to be honest, New
Zealand is not that big to get lost in!! (around the size of Great Britain).
Internationally, Europcar is well-known for its clean
green image and efforts to protect/reduce the impact
of their operations on the environment. Similar
policies are being adopted in Australasia also.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND On arrival in Auckland, ‘The City
of Sails’, seat in coach passengers will be met by our local
representative and privately transferred to your hotel. Self drive
passengers will collect your rental car at the airport and drive
to your hotel.
DAY 2 - AUCKLAND – BAY OF ISLANDS Travel north
over Auckland’s Harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus
Coast. There is the opportunity to view mighty Kauri Trees
Explore NZ
enroute. The journey continues, travelling through Whangarei,
Northland’s only major city and port, before arriving in the
beautiful Bay of Islands. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour
of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn about New Zealand’s
historic treaty signed between the British Crown and the
Maori Chieftains. Following this, take a ‘Hole in the Rock and
Cape Brett’ cruise. If you wish, you may disembark from this
cruise in Romantic Russell and take some time to explore this
historic town, returning to Paihia by ferry at your leisure (ferry
ticket included). (B)
DAY 3 - BAY OF ISLANDS Today is at your leisure to enjoy
the Bay of Islands and Northland. You might like to book an
optional Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach day tour or take time
to explore historic Russell or Kerikeri. Optional activities not

DAY 4 - BAY OF ISLANDS – AUCKLAND At leisure this
morning to further explore this beautiful region. Later this
afternoon return to Auckland. (B)
DAY 5 - DEPARTURE DAY Your arrangements conclude
today with a departure transfer or the return of your rental car.

DAY 4 - ROTORUA – WAITOMO – AUCKLAND Travel over
the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach Waitomo. Enjoy a

scenic flight and walking tour of White Island, an active
volcano situated off the coast of Tauranga. Optional activity

tour to view glowworms – no experience required for this

DAY 6 - TAURANGA – ROTORUA A short drive through
the countryside this morning to the geothermal city of
Rotorua will allow you a free afternoon to explore the city.

DAY 11 - WELLINGTON Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of
Wellington and a short guided tour of Te Papa (the ‘Museum

DAY 12 - WELLINGTON – NATIONAL PARK Travel north
from Wellington up the Kapiti Coast, through Palmerston
North and into Tongariro National Park. This park is dominated
by the 3 mountains - Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt
Ngaruahoe. (B)
DAY 13 - NATIONAL PARK Today is a free day to enjoy
Tongariro National Park. You might like to book the optional
Tongariro Crossing guided tour – please ask your consultant
for information. (B)
DAY 14 - NATIONAL PARK – HAMILTON Depart National
Park and continue north around Lake Taupo, through lush
Waikato farmland to arrive in Hamilton. (B)
DAY 15 - HAMILTON – AUCKLAND Travel north through the
fertile Waikato region before returning to Auckland. (B)

to learn about New Zealand’s historic treaty signed between
the British Crown and the Maori Chieftains. Following this, take

DAY 7 - NATIONAL PARK Today is at leisure to explore the
Tongariro National Park and the many walking tracks in the
area, including the world-famous Tongariro Crossing. If you
