Lower School Summer 2016
Trips & Activity Information
General Information
On Tuesdays students have half-day trips that will leave after lunch
and return by dinner. On Fridays students go on all-day trips, leaving
in the morning and returning by dinner. On Fridays, students should
bring a packed lunch. Students should bring a lightweight jacket and
outdoors-appropriate clothing for all field trips.
Safari Sam’s and Camping in Cabins at Champoeg
This year, campers will be hiking and picnicing along the Willamette
River and staying in cabins in the beautiful Champoeg State Park,
located just outside of Newberg. The Champoeg Park features a
unique combination of history, nature and recreation. Campers will
also spend a day monkeying around at Safari Sam’s “Jungle of Fun”.
Horseback Riding Lessons
The Lower School offers weekly horseback riding lessons at no extra
charge. Students will need closed-toe shoes for this activity.
What other activities will your child do?
Students enjoy daily academics with assistance as needed in subjectspecific areas such as reading, spelling and math. Additionally, our
Lower School students explore many exciting activities outside the
classroom. A typical day might include art, dance, cooking and
outdoor games, or horseback riding, chess, woodworking and music.
Our students have fun learning in the classroom and exploring the
world around them.
