FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
•Where can I get a CD or DVD of a worship service?
Recent services are available for purchase in CD or DVD
formats in the bookstore as well as for free download at www.
northlandchurch.net.
• What are the hours for the bookstore and café?
The hours of operation can be viewed online at www.
northlandchurch.net (click on links for Northland Bookstore
or Nature’s Table Café).
• Where can a mother nurse her baby?
There is a lounge in the first-floor ladies restroom with a TV
monitor which will display the service in progress. (See map
location #5)
• Where is the wall for tributes (in memory and in honor of)?
The Tribute Wall is near the elevator on the first floor. (See
map location #9)
• Where can I use my laptop?
The main foyer and café have free Wi-Fi available.
• Can my Bible study small group meet in the cafe?
Yes! With comfortable seating, great food and free Wi-Fi, this
is an ideal space for personal or group study anytime during
the week.
• Is there listening assistance for the hearing-impaired?
Hearing devices are available at the Welcome Desk in
the foyer. There is also an interpreter at the Sunday 9 a.m.
service at the front left-hand side of the sanctuary. (See map
location #11)
• Where do I sit if I’m in a wheelchair?
There are several places designated throughout the sanctuary:
at the end of any designated row, at the front of the sanctuary
and at the back of the sanctuary.
•Will the main seating area in the sanctuary ever be
carpeted?
No. The floors in the sanctuary have been left uncarpeted
specifically for acoustic purposes.
•Is the building that housed Northland’s worship and classes
from 1985 to 2007 still used?
Yes. Affectionately referred to as “The Rink” because of it’s
original purpose as a roller skating rink, our previous building
now houses both our Student Ministries and our Care Center.
BUILDING FACTS
•Opening weekend: August 18-20, 2007
•Total project cost = $41.8 million.
•160,000 total square feet of building space.
•30 pre-school and early childhood classrooms in 22,000 square feet. Each
classroom has its own children’s restroom.
•15 adult classrooms on the second floor in 15,000 square feet.
•35 second floor administrative offices in 11,000 square feet.
•2,100 square-foot café operated by Nature’s Table Café.
•1,700 square-foot bookstore.
•15,000 square-foot main foyer.
•Sanctuary is 22,000 square feet and can be configured for a maximum
of 3,150 seats – 1,200 of which are in the balcony (this compares to 1,164 seats
in the existing sanctuary).
•Sanctuary stage is 4,900 square feet.
•3,300 square-foot warehouse and set design workshop.
•1,600 square-foot audio-visual production area on the second floor.
•Building has seven public restrooms on two levels, plus two special needs/family
restrooms in the main foyer.
•1,525 square-foot hospitality/reception area off the main foyer behind the
Welcome Desk.
•940 square-foot greenroom and practice area for the worship team.
•Two elevators – one public in the main foyer and a service elevator behind
the stage.
•Three prayer rooms.
•1,282 parking spaces of which 24 are dedicated handicap locations.
TECHNICAL FACTS
•There is a 75’ x 15’ screen on the stage behind the worship team.
•There are two 9’ x 16’ drop-down screens above the worship team.
•The infrastructure of the audio/visual system has been designed to connect any
room in the building to anywhere in the world.
•There are LCD screens in key locations throughout the building that will provide
information about classes and coming events.
•State-of-the-art video conference systems are installed in some of the classrooms
and conference rooms.
•Three tons of speakers are hanging over the stage.
•The audio system is entirely digital and can handle more than 200 individual
channels at one time.
•The building has 20 individual audio zones that will balance the sound quality
throughout the facility.
•There are more than 200 individual electrical outlets in the sanctuary dedicated
to audio/visual requirements.
•The sanctuary lighting system has six dimmer racks with a total of 463 individual
dimmers. This gives the church almost endless lighting design possibilities.
•In the sanctuary, there are 750’ of lighting service grids 31’ above the floor.
•The entire lighting network can be controlled anywhere in the building from a
laptop computer.

•50 tons of reinforcing steel for the fountains and slabs.
