ICMCF Foundation Brick Sale
The Foundation, is continuing with plans for a project that
will include a beautiful huge pavilion area at the back of the
building, off of the Trillium Dining room. Fund raising is underway and the group hopes to break ground next year if the
funding is available. Personalized bricks in several sizes with
many options are now available for sale. The engraved bricks
will outline the walkway of the new Pavilion.
What better way to honor a cherished loved one, or your
family or yourself! Be a part of history and see your name in
concrete. Information pamphlets and brick order forms are
available at the front office or may be ordered online at:

What’s Happening in May 2015 ?
Fabulous Facts:
• The average lifespan of a
Diversional Therapy Department News………...
goldfish living in the wild is 25
years.
We love you MOM! On Friday, May 8th, at 2:00pm. we will celebrate “MOM” with a
special party in the afternoon with live music and dessert. You don’t have to be a Mom to
attend, everyone is welcome to help us honor those that are near and dear to our heart!
Annual Bowling Banquet: Our regular bowlers will be treated to Riverside Pizza at our
Annual Banquet to be held in the Wood Haven Activity Center on Monday, May 11th at
12:00 noon. Only those who bowl regularly will be involved in this and you will get an
invite delivered to your room. If you didn't get an invite, you might want to think about
joining next year!
Casino Bound….On Thursday Mayl 14th, we will take our trip over to Watersmeet and hope
that Lady Luck likes us! Those wishing to go on this gambling trip, must have their own
funds to do so. We will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. The bus leaves at 10:00 am.
Pajama Day!...This is one of our all time favorites! What better day to celebrate it than
“Resident Appreciation Day” Friday, May 15, wrapping up our NNHW festivities with live
music and Ice-Cream Sundaes at 2:00pm
Happy Birthday….. to those special people celebrating a May birthday, as we honor them at
the Monthly Birthday Party on Wednesday, May 20th at 2:00 pm. Cake, Ice-Cream and
Jan and Geno to be on hand to make the party extra special. Mark your calendars and be
sure to attend. (This event is earlier than normal due to Jan and Geno’s schedule)
• A 100lb woman in high heels
exerts more pressure per square
inch when walking than a
6000lb elephant. All that
pressure goes right to the point
of that high heel!
Community Breakfast is scheduled for May 27th at 8:45 am. Blueberry Pancakes, Fried
Potatoes, Sausage and Fresh Raspberries ! Be sure you sign up with a Diversional person to
assure you are on the list to attend. Everyone is invited, and the group has grown to an
average of 40+ residents enjoying food cooked by Administrative personnel. Yummo!
Bonfire Time...Weather permitting, we will be enjoying a warm evening and bonfire on
Tuesday, May 26th. At 5:30 Smores are on the menu and lots of fun and laughter. Mark
your calendars and plan to attend!
Ottawa Lake Picnic..We are headed for our first picnic of the year so say your prayers for a
warm day. This lake has an indoor pavilion that we can seek shelter in, just in case it is chilly.
We spend the day visiting, playing games and enjoying a great picnic lunch. This even
takes place on Friday, May 29th with the bus leaving at 10:00 am

Kylee McConnell (a
woman) from Roseville,
Michigan was charged with
felony bigamy and
sentenced to 22 months to
10 years in prison! The
popular McConnell had a
talent for finding lonely
men, marrying them, and
stealing their money,
according to Sheriff’s
Detective Tim Donnellon.
Apparently, her pattern was
to drain their bank accounts
and move on to the next guy
by the time the current
husband found out. It
worked pretty well, too. All
in all, she managed to marry
about 15 men. Isn’t love
grand!
It’s that time of year again and our Annual National Nursing
Home Cook Off will take place on Wednesday, May 13th
Great CASSERSOLE Cook Off entries will be
accepted until noon on of this day to the Wood Haven Activity Center
Kitchen. So get your cookbooks out and dust off those favorite family
recipes and submit a casserole that will knock our judges socks off!
• In 1818 they finally came
up with the concept of
having a left and right shoe!
Shoes prior to this could go
on either foot.

Toilet Paper Beginnings: In 1857, New Yorker Joseph C.
Gayetty produced the first packaged bathroom tissue in
the United States. It was called “The Therapeutic Paper”
and contained aloe for added comfort. The company sold
the paper in packs of 500 sheets for 50 cents (a fortune at
that time) Gayetty’s name was printed on every sheet!
