PA XTON SUPERCHARGERS
As a tribute to the limited production Paxton supercharged Shelby GT-350s, we
proudly introduce today’s system for V-8 powered carbureted Ford Mustangs of the
‘60s. With a horsepower increase ranging from 30% to more than 75% (depending
on engine build), a new gear driven, nearly silent NOVI 1200 supercharger along
with a standard three-year limited warranty, you’ll easily gain street superiority.
The NOVI 1500 supercharger uses a 3.7” 8-rib supercharger pulley, which produces 7-1/2 PSI @ 5500 rpm on a stock 289 V-8 engine. A cast aluminum carburetor enclosure assembly allows for pressurized float bowls and throttle shafts
for seamless response. The enclosure features -8 AN fuel inlet port plus locations

uilding any type of Mustang requires safe
practices. Because of it’s weight, lifting an
engine in and out of an engine compartment is
one of the most dangerous task you’ll do and this
brings us to the topic of this month’s Restomod
Daze. One evening my cell phone rang. It was
my good friend George Galoosis calling to see
if I was watching Overhauling on TV. It seems
that they were lifting an engine and it fell off the
hoist. Since I didn’t see it on the show, I don’t
know exactly what happened. But George felt it
had something to do with the fact that they were
using an engine lift plate. Now, everybody who
knows George knows that he hates engine lift
plates. He just doesn’t see how four little 5/16”
studs that are screwed into an aluminum intake
manifold can safely hold the
weight of a 450 to 600 pound
engine without breaking the
studs or pulling the threads out
of the aluminum intake manifold. I say, hogwash! I’ve
used engine lift plates,

home made and mass produced, without ever
dropping an engine for over 30 years. Ah, another instance where 2 friends make fun of each
other over something that they both feel they’re
right about. Does that sound familiar to you?
For those of you who aren’t sure exactly what
an engine lift plate is, let me explain. Engine lift
plates are designed to bolt to the intake manifold using the 4 bolts that hold the carburetor
in place. To use them, you simply unbolt the
carburetor from the intake manifold, leaving
the intake studs in place, and bolt a lift plate in
it’s place. It’s that simple. Lift plates usually
have more than one set of mounting holes in the
base so that the same plate will fit many different intake manifolds. They also have different

places to put a hook or to run a chain through
so that you can make the engine tip forward
or backwards depending on if the engine is
front heavy or rear heavy. I have always found
engine lift plates to be the best way to go; easy
and safe to us. George disagrees.
As I sat in my chair and thought about it, I
realized that this would make a good article.
George isn’t the only person I’ve heard express
these concerns so I know that there are a lot of
other people who don’t trust engine lift plates
in our hobby. Also, George is a pretty smart guy
and I’ve learned a lot from him. What if George
were right? I could be doing something that
was unsafe and teaching other people to do it,
too. As I thought about it, I decided to find out
exactly how much force it would take to pull
the studs out of an aluminum intake manifold
or to break them or the lift plate, which ever
happened first. That way I would know if I
were risking dropping my motors by doing
something that was unsafe every time I used
an engine lift plate. The next day, I put a call
into Danny Burgess at Rare Parts, Inc. to see
if it was a test that they could run in their
R&D shop. Rare Parts, Inc. is a company
that manufactures chassis, steering and
suspension products for both classic
and antique cars and for new production
cars. We’ve worked with them many times
before and they had the equipment needed
to run the stress test to tell us if engine lift
plates were safe or not. Danny said to come
over, bring the parts we needed to test,
and they would look it over. Before leaving
Mustangs Plus, I assembled the parts together
as you see here and headed to Rare Parts. The
results were very conclusive. Read on and see
what I mean!
Before going to Rare Parts, Inc. for the stress test, I
pulled a new Edlebrock intake, a carburetor stud kit and
an engine lift plate from stock and bolted the lift plate
onto the intake.
The two main read outs shown here are 4,058.2 pounds
of stress and 0.3870 inches of stretch in the parts being
pulled. Most Mustangs weigh between 2,800 and 3,200
pounds.
With the first test over, I brought out my home made
engine lift plate that was made by George several
years ago. I wanted to pull those studs out of the
intake and figured this would do it!

Test Number 1Engine
The intake manifold with the lift plate is bolted on top
of a 1” thick steel plate with four 1/2” grade 8 bolts
holding it down. The hook will pull straight up until
something breaks!
At 4,000 pounds of stress, the hook has cracked the hole
of the engine lift plate through the top of the hole and
is starting to fail. It would take another 493 pounds to
actually break it.
Danny Burgess, Predisdent of Rare Parts, Inc. sets the
parameters for the stress test. This particular machine
is capable of putting about 60,000 pounds of pulling
stress on parts.
At 4,493 pounds of stress, the hook pops through the
top of the hole of the engine lift plate. There was no
sign of the studs failing or of them pulling the threads
out of the intake.
At a little over 3,000 pounds of stress, the engine lift
plate is bending at the middle between the front studs
and the hook is pulling through the top of the hole. But
nothing is breaking.
This graph shows the amount of stress and stretch
needed to make our engine lift plate fail. To read it,
start in the lower left hand corner and read up.
TEST NUMBER 2
My home made engine lift plate proved a lot stronger.
It took 5,410 pounds of stress before one of the front
studs broke on the intake. By the way, the studs are
soft, testing at grade 2.
Even after breaking one of the studs, there was still
over 3,000 pounds of stress on the intake. We continued to pull and at 4,318 pounds, two more studs
broke. That ended the test.
This graph shows the amount of stress and stretch
my home made engine lift plate took before the
studs broke. It’s fine as are the threads in the intake.
Mission completed!
MY CONCLUSIONS
There’s the numbers and you can draw your own conclusions.
A small block Ford engine will weigh in at 350 to 450 pounds
depending on whether it has aluminum or cast iron heads and it’s
accessories. A Ford big block is around 500 to 600 pounds under
the same conditions. With those numbers, even adding another
150 pounds for a bell housing and transmission still gives us a
very safe margin.
The manufacture has done their homework and built a product
that will bend and flex way before it will actually fail and cause
the engine to drop. It’s exactly what you want in this type of a
product. A little warning that you’re pushing it to the limit!

O
ne of the things I really enjoy about our business is being able to help bring new products
to market that help those in the Mustang hobby get more enjoyment out of their Mustangs.
It was in the early 1980’s that we did our first T-5 5-speed transmission swap into a Classic
Mustang. Back then, we couldn’t just order up a transmission crossmember or a driveline
to fit. We had to fabricate many of the other parts and pieces we needed to make the swap.
Fast forward twenty years. Today, everything you need to make the T-5 conversion, including the transmission itself, are available in our newest Mustangs Plus Parts Catalog and we
are now into the “fine-tuning” stages of these conversions.
We have always encouraged the use of the 1965-66 early 3-piece motor mounts when
doing the T-5 conversion because they allowed you to have a small amount of movement in
the motor mounts so that you could make the shifter on the T-5 come up closer to the center of the shifter hole in the floor. This same small amount of movement also allowed us to move the engine around a bit and help us make sure that the headers didn’t rest on the shock towers which cause a terrible vibration
in the cars. Sometimes it worked, sometime it didn’t. But now, Ron Morris Performance in Modesto, California, has engineered a new set of motor mounts
for the small block Ford that really does the job. They allow you to adjust the engine side to side and front to back to make centering the T-5 shifter, or any
other shifter for that mater, a piece of cake! By the same token, a problem header goes away with a swift adjustment! Easy as one, two, three. Follow along
as we install, with the assistance of Ron Morris himself, a set of these new RMP Adjustable Motor Mounts on mine and Cindy’s Black Restomod Coupe and
show you just how easy it is!
1.) Before removing the stock motor mounts, be
sure to properly brace the motor. Never jack in the
middle of the oil pan and never in the area of the
oil drain plug.
2.) This is what the stock 1965 and early 1966 3piece motor mounts look like in the car. They work
great but as you’ll soon see, the RMP Adjustable
Motor Mounts are even better!

3.) Now for the start of our project. First, remove
the nuts, or the bolts on a bolt though type motor
mount, and separate the motor mount from the
frame mounts. Then remove the 3 bolts that hold the
frame mounts onto the shock tower. Work on both
sides at the same time and in the same order. We’re
showing you the passengers side because it’s the
easiest side to take pictures of . Remember, you’ll
have to remove the oil filter on the drivers side.
4.) This is what the 3-piece motor mount from the
passengers side looks like out of the car. For you
weight watchers, it’s a lot heaver than it’s RMP
replacement!

5.) It’s time to get the RMP Adjustable Motor
Mounts ready to install. The directions tell you
exactly how to put them together and the torque that
is recommended for each bolt. As you see here, bolt
the polyurethane bushing and bracket to the engine
plate. Be sure to leave them loose so that they can
slide back and forth.
6.) Attach the motor plates with the polyurethane
bushing and bracket onto the engine block using the
same holes as the stock mount. Tighten the bolts to
the recommended torque as per the instructions.

7.) Next, take one of the four side plates and,
with two of the long mounting bolts, place it
against the shock tower. All four of the side
plates are the same so you can’t make a mistake. Notice that the hole in the polyurethane
bushing, which has a steel liner, and bracket are
higher than the slotted hole in the side plate.

8.) Go to the other side of the shock tower and
place another side plate on the bolts that are
sticking through. Hold it in place with two of
the lock nuts that are provided.

9.) Tighten the bolts and nuts that hold the side
plates in place but not too tight. We want to be
able to easily lower the motor down to line up
the through bolts.

10.) As you can see, when you drop the
motor down, the hole in the polyurethane
bushing lines up with the slotted hole in the
side plate.

11 and 12.) Insert the through bolts through
the hole in the polyurethane bushing and the
slotted hole in the side plate on both the passenger and drivers side as shown. Again, put
the nuts on the through bolts but don’t tighten
them down all the way. You need to be able to
move the motor side to side to make sure the
headers or exhaust manifolds aren’t touching
the frame.

13.) Using a pry bar, move the motor side to
side and front to back until the motor is in
the position that is best for your Mustang.
This allows you to make sure your headers
are not on the shock towers and the shifter
for your transmission is centered in the hole
in the floor.
14.) Once you have everything lined up, go
back and tighten everything up to the torque
specs that are given in the instructions. Also,
put everything back on that you had to remove
to make the installation, especially the oil filter!
You don’t want to oil down your driveway or
garage floor when you fire your Mustang up!

15 and 16.) This is how both sides looked,
15 being the passenger side and 16 being the
drivers side from the front of the car after we
finished our installation. The time required? I’d
say an hour to an hour and a half for a person
with average mechanical skills. It’s an easy
installation that almost anybody can do!

HIGH FLOW THERMOSTATS
Milodon’s objective has been to incorporate state-of-the-art manufacturing
technology, aerospace caliber materials and stringent quality controls to
produce true race quality performance products of exceptional value.
WATER PUMPS
The High Volume performance water pump models increase the pressure within the block to help prevent hot spots and steam pockets, as
well as, improve coolant flow through the radiator.
Milodon performance water pumps feature:
• Close tolerance impellers that increase coolant flow up to 30%.
• Balanced distribution to each side of the block resulting in improved efficiency.
• Use new, high quality steel or aluminum castings, that use large diameter shafts and
heavy duty bearings.
• Are direct factory replacements equipped with all hose connections and bosses.
These High Flow Thermostats greatly aid the proper functioning of a high
performance cooling system. They are engineered to warm the engine
to a proper operating temperature without making it run hot enough to
lose power. Also the “Balanced Sleeve” design is highly recommended
for use with High Volume water pumps. With other thermostat designs,
the increased flow generated by High Volume water pumps can actually
attempt to hold the thermostat closed. The “Balanced Sleeve” design
equals the pressure exerted on the thermostat allowing its operation to
be solely regulated by coolant temperature.

It’s the Wednesday Night Drags at Sacramento Raceway Park and Colt 351, with Richard driving, is in the far lane up against a Camaro! Nobody thought it was a fair race. After all, the Camaro did a long, smokey,
burnout to warm up his nice, wide, racing slicks while Colt 351, in full street trim and with street tires, came to the line without doing a burnout or anything. “Watch my buddies Camaro smoke this Mustang!”
Didn’t happen. Richard would pilot Colt 351 to a 12.9 run at 109 mph to the Camaro’s 13.3 and at 105 mph losing effort. “Damn!” was the only thing I heard in reply.
Project: Colt 351 Engine
Follow along as we show you what parts we used and how the powerplant for Colt 351 was built. Understand that this is not a “how to build the
motor” article. This is more of a “what we used and what we learned while we were building the motor” article. Hope you enjoy it!
#2.) One of the first things to do is to plug the
oil dipstick tube hole which is in the left side
of the block. This must be done with all late
model 5.0’s and 351’s when they are installed
in an early Mustang such as Colt 351. We have
found tapping it for an 1/8” brass pipe plug
works great.
#1.) Finding a standard bore 351 block to use on
Colt 351 proved a bit of a chore but we finally
found one out of a pickup truck. There was a lot
of work to do to the block before it was turned
over to Brent and Ron at B&R Automotive for
all the machine work. Follow along as we hit
the highlights of building the engine for Colt
351. Let the fun begin!

#3.) Since we were going to use a roller cam
and tappets and the block we had was originally equipped with flat tappets, we had to do
some work on the block before it went to the
machine shop. (The machine shop could do
it, but we wanted to do as much as we could.)
This included a lot of grinding to insure that
the Roller Tappet Guide Plate, or Spider as it
is called because of it’s 4 arms that stick out
on each side, would set flat against the block
when installed. We ground off all the markings
that were in the way and then drilled and tapped
the holes to hold the Spider down. Be sure to
do this before the block goes to the machine
as the grinding dust is messy, messy, messy!
Also, the holes for the Spider go right down
through the cam bearing journals so you want
to make sure they are drilled and tapped before new cam bearings are installed. By the
way, the cam in Colt 351 is Ford Racing’s
E-303 roller cam, Mustangs Plus part number
#05378.
#4.) A little grinding is also required make
sure that the Tappet Guide Plates, or Tie Bars,
which are what the Spider holds pressure on,
don’t hit on the side of the block around the
tappet bore. Flat tappets rotate while in use
and roller tappets, because of the roller wheel
on the bottom, must be held in the same position. That is the Tie Bar’s job.

#5.) On to the guts of Colt 351. We chose to
build a Long Arm 351W (also known as a Long
Rod 351) for a couple of reasons. The longer
rod makes more torque at lower RPM’s and also
allows you to have more compression, up to
11:00 to 1, while still running on 89 pump gas.
After much research, we went to Speed-O-Motive (speedomotive.com) for one of their 351W
Long Arm kits. We choose to stay with 351 cubic
inches and not to stroke the motor simply because
we were building Colt 351, not Colt 377 or Colt
408. This picture shows the pistons, rods, rings,
bearings, and crankshaft before being installed in
our .030 over 351W block for Colt 351.
#8.) One area we ran into a little problem with
was the timing chain and sprockets. As the next
picture shows, the timing chain was rubbing on
the block. A call to Ford Racing was of no help.
They had never heard of this problem before.
It took me almost 2 weeks and a lot of calling
around and ordering different brands of timing
sprockets and chains to find the solution to the
problem. Here’s what I found. There are different
offsets on the sprockets from one manufacture to
another. The set I was originally using, a Clevite
set, rubbed the block hard. A Cloyes set was just
too close for comfort. So I crossed my fingers and
ordered a Ford Racing set. I ended up with about
.035” clearance and so far, Colt 351 has run fine.
In my travels though, I have spoke to 2 people
who have ruined 351W motors because of this
problem. So be sure to check the timing chain
area closely when putting your 351W together.
By the way, the 260, 289 and 302’s don’t have
this problem. The areas that the timing chain rubs
on the 351W is cast differently.
#9.) This pictures show the marks left on
the block from turning the motor over with a
socket wrench. Can you imagine what it would
have done after a few miles?

#6.) This picture shows the difference in the rods
and shows why it is called a long arm, (or long
rod) motor. The rod on the left is the stock 351W
rod. On the right is the longer Ford 400 rod which
is used in the Speed-O-Motive kit used to build
Colt 351’s motor.

#7.) This picture shows the difference in the pistons. On the left is the stock 351W piston, on the
right is the Keith Black piston which comes in the
Speed-O-Motive kit. As you can see, the Keith
Black piston is smaller and the wrist pin height is
higher because of the longer rod. It is also a flat
top piston while the stock piston is dished.

#15.) Richard tightens up the valve covers and
Colt 351’s engine is done and ready to begin
installation. Notice the Canton 9 quart road
racing oil pan? It’ll get put to good use!

#11.) Another area we had some concerns with
were the intake gaskets. We had several sets
around the shop but they all closed off a small
amount of the intake inlet. Again, it was Ford
Racing to the rescue! Their set, Mustangs Plus
part number #06567 fit perfectly!
#12.) The Edlebrock Victor Jr. 351W intake
was bolted on and torqued in sequence. We
were careful not to let the intake gaskets move
during the process. The cork gaskets for the
ends of the intake (to seal it to the block) were
taken out of the package and thrown just as far
as we could throw them! Instead, we laid down
a bead of black silicone, about 3\8” around,
on the front and back of the block. This seals
the intake and block perfectly and allows the
intake to set down flat on the intake gaskets
on heads. The cork or rubber gaskets, on the
other hand, are always a pain to keep in place
and seem to always leak. It’s your call, but I
prefer the silicone.
#13.) Richard puts the Ford Racing Roller Rockers in place. We found that adjusting them onto
the push rod until the push rod was hard to spin
with our fingers and then tightening the rockers
another one and a half turns (1 1\2) worked out
fine for our adjustment. Of course we used poly
locks to hold the rockers in place!
#14.) Let us show you a little trick with the
motor mounts. These are the 1965 style 3 piece
motor mounts. The rubber insulator part bolts
to the block; bolted to that is a “C” shaped solid
steel bracket; this steel bracket has a bolt which
sticks straight down and bolts to the cast iron
frame mount which is bolted to the frame of the
car. Using this style of motor mount, we have
learned that we can build an almost bullet proof
motor mount very easily! Here’s how. We bolt
the rubber insulator and the “C” shaped bracket
together and then drill a 1\2” hole through them
both. We then put a 1\2” bolt through them and
with a 1\2” nylon lock nut. We just snug it up, we
don’t tighten it down. This stops the torque of the
motor from stretching the rubber and ultimately
pulling the motor mount apart. The motor can
only torque over as far as the 1\2” bolt and nut
will let it. We’ve run motor mounts like these in
all our race cars and street cars and never had a
motor mount problem!

On a 400 horsepower street engine, a louvered
tray can add about 12 to 15 HP; a screen tray
can add up to 25 hp.
STREET/STRIP PANS
These early chassis, pre 1974 front sump, low
profile designs provide both increased oil capacity, as well as maximum available ground
clearance. Increased oil capacity is an absolute
requirement to handle the demands of higher
RPM and increased horsepower. Suitable for
heavy street and strip use. Oil control baffles
100% subdue any unwanted oil movement,
which results in consistent oil pressure and
increased horsepower output. Will fit all stock
front sump chassis, all stock starters, all stock
exhausts, and nearly all headers.

Required to properly mount the tray assembly. Adjustable mounting position allows the

Main Support Girdle
These Main Support Windage Trays bolt to the pre-drilled and tapped
holes on our main supports. These trays keep the windage around the
rotating assembly away from the oil in the sump and the oil in the sump
away from the rotating assembly. Comes with mounting bolts.

Ford 289-302 Main Support is designed to directly tie into the main caps.
Our design doesn’t need bushings or spacers and doesn’t require the
main caps to be machined to mount it. The end result is more support,
easy to install and will clear up to a 3.40” stroke. This support is 1/2” thick
and is laser cut out of steel with CNC machined mounting holes, includes
all necessary bolts and washers.

FYI: In an effort to reduce costs and save weight, auto manufacturers started using weaker engine block castings as early as the 1970’s. While these blocks hold up just fine
when putting out 220 horsepower, they cannot go racing. Our Main Support helps to “beef up” your lower end by reinforcing the alignment of the main caps. The webbing
on these blocks has much to be desired and a main support replaces the missing metal that the auto makers stole for extra catalytic converters.

P E R T R O N I X IGNITOR I N S T A L L A T I O N
When we tell our customers how easy it is to install a Pertronix Ignitor on their Mustang, they usually get a blank stare on their face
as if to say “It can’t be that easy!” Well, it is and we’re going to prove it to you! Follow along as we install a Pertronix Ignitor on a 64½
coupe. Built at San Jose on July 20th, it’s equipped with a “D” code 289 engine. We wanted to get it running its best before deciding
which restoration job to tackle first. So installing a Pertronix Ignitor was a natural! This new pony is a great daily driver, but it has a
lot of little problems that need to be corrected. We know we’ll be seeing a lot of it on Tech Night!
1.) The Pertronix Ignitor we’ll use is a #4581 which fits all 1965 to 1973
V8 Mustangs. Included in the kit is the Pertronix module, the magnet
sleeve, 2 nuts, a wire end, and an air gap gauge. Everything you’ll
need to do the job except for a flat blade screw driver, a 3\8” open end
wrench, and a pair of wire cutters.

2.) Make sure the ignition is off and the
battery is disconnected. Remove the
distributor cap and rotor leaving the spark
plug wires attached.

3.) Remove the primary lead (the wire to
the distributor) from the negative (-) side
of the coil.
4.) With the screwdriver, remove the screws
holding the points and condenser.

5.) Lift the points, condenser, and primary
lead out as a unit. You may have to slide
the rubber insulator on the primary lead up
out of the distributor base. Sometimes they
can be a little stubborn!
6.) This is how your points, condenser, and
primary lead should come out. There’s no
need to take all the pieces apart separately
since they’re all going in the trash!

7.) Remove the ignition wire from the
positive (+) side of the coil. If it still has the
original press on cap, you’ll need to cut the
cap off, strip about 1\4” of the wire covering
off, and crimp on the wire end provided
in the Pertronix kit. It’s best to solder the
wire to the end so that it will not vibrate or
pull loose later. Ford’s had already been
changed by a previous owner.

8.) This next step is purely your choice. The
wire leads on the Pertronix unit are long
because not all coils are the same distance
from the distributor. We chose to measure the
distance from the distributor to the coil and
then cut the wire leads to shorten them. We
then crimped new ends on and then soldered
the ends to the wires.

9.) This shows our Pertronix module after
we shortened the wiring. Notice how much
we took off!

10.) Set the Pertronix unit in the distributor.
There is a locating pin on the end of the
Pertronix module furthest away from the lead
wires. This locating pin acts as a pivot for the
unit to be moved closer or further away from
the magnet sleeve. Make sure the pin is in the
locating hole then, with the screwdriver, install
the screw to hold the unit in place.

11.) Drop the magnet sleeve over the distributor shaft lobes and push it down. It will fit
snugly over the lobes and bottom out.

12.) Using the plastic air gap gauge as a feeler gauge, set the gap between the magnet
sleeve and the Pertronix module. Don’t worry
about getting it perfect. This measurement is
not as important as a point gap setting. Just
get it in the ball park and it will be fine.

13.) Be sure the rubber insulator that is on the
wire leads is installed in the distributor housing. The wires inside the housing should have
some slack but should not rub on anything
inside the cap. They will slip through the rubber insulator for adjustment.
14.) Install the rotor and cap.

15.) Connect the Black wire from the Pertronix module to the negative (-) side of
the coil. Connect the Red wire from the
Pertronix module and the ignition wire to the
positive (+) side of the coil. CAUTION: Do
not reverse these wires as it will destroy
the module and void the warranty! Use
the nuts provided and tighten them with the
3\8” wrench. Your Pertronix is now installed.
Reconnect your battery, and your car is now
ready to start. No adjustment of the timing is
necessary!

Distributors feature the patented Ignitor II ignition module with adaptive dwell control. Ignitor II modules use a Hall Effect integrated circuit triggered by
a special magnetic sleeve fitted to the distributor shaft resulting in stable timing and precise spark distribution. A powerful micro controller with adaptive
dwell algorithms allows the module to adjust the dwell angle to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range, increasing both high and low RPM
performance. Ignitor II compensates for inherent electronic delay by adjusting the spark timing over the entire RPM range. Because peak current level
is reached just prior to spark, ignition energy is sustained with less heat build-up in the coil and module. CNC machined housings have +0.000 to -0.003
tolerances and are polished to a high luster. Tempered oversized diameter shafts (GM applications .500”) have low torsion displacement resulting in more
accurate timing and longer life. A top roller bearing and an oil impregnated bronze sintered bottom bushing reduce friction and high RPM vibration. A machined
heat-treated gear insures durability plus tighter mesh with the cam gear eliminating horsepower losses caused by timing fluctuations. Distributors come
with a factory set performance advance curve with addition springs provided for custom advance curves. A proprietary mechanical advance adjustment

PERTRONIX IGNITION SYSTEM
The Only Ignition System To Provide a Powerful
2nd Spark Through The Entire RPM Range!
Unlike other multiple spark discharge systems, which typically drop off to one spark at about 3000
RPM range. The Second Strike is the only ignition system to provide second spark throughout the
entire RPM range. The strength of aftermarket capacitive discharge (CD) systems is a short, powerful burst of energy. With a Second Strike ignition box installed you are combining the best of both
systems. Your original inductive system remains in place providing the primary spark while Second
Strike adds a powerful second spark.
Timing of the second spark (Second Strike) is adjustable with an external rotary dial, and you choose
when it will occur. Select from 2 to 18 degrees (in 2 degree increments) following the primary spark.
And you can dial in the setting while the engine is running. A high resolution digital rev limiter protects
the engine from possible over-rev conditions. You can easily set limits within 100 RPM resolution
with two external dials.

BILLET SERPENTINE CONVERSION PULLEY KIT
Precision CNC machined from solid billet 6061-T6 aluminum to
fit perfectly and handle high torque and vibration. This bracket kit
comes complete with stainless steel tensioning rods and chrome
moly rod ends for high performance operation. All necessary hardware included. Powdercoated to eliminate polishing in those hard
to reach places. Matching serpentine pulleys are precision CNC
machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum. This is the same material
we use for NASCAR pulleys! These pulleys will not fracture like
common cast pulleys. High tensile strength means much longer
wear. We go as far as hard coating the high wear areas on our high
water flow ratio pulleys! Our street rod ratio increase water flow
and fan speed. This helps at critical low speed driving. All pulleys
have a maintenance-free clear powdercoat.

and wish to run your existing V-belt setup instead of switching to serpentine
belts, you’ll will need to use this dampener.
This kit contains all the sensors necessary to use the #5820 Main Harness shown to the left, including: dual oxygen sensors, EGR, TAD & TAB
solenoids, fuel, A/C, and EEC power relays. Although this kit contains
parts you will not use, it is less expensive than buying the parts you need

You’d be surprised at how many EFI
conversions are on the road without
this safety device! This switch shuts off
the electrical current to the pump in the
event of an impact.
Cast from nodular iron, which is 30% stronger than the usual gray iron that most
cast dampers are made from. Super rubber bonded construction, other cast
dampers just have a rubber strip that can rotate or slip. Externally balanced
models also feature a removable counterweight, similar to SFI spec dampers.
They are also sold individually. All dampers are pressure tested. More than
4,000kg is required to separate the inner hub from the outer ring! Dampers
have been spin tested to 8,000 rpm for 1 hour, and 12,500 for 5 minutes!

FORD RACING FUEL INJECTORS
Designed to work correctly with the Computer and Mass-Air Kits #5366
or #5365 shown in this section. It is highly recommended that you use a
new set of fuel injectors if you are unsure of how long it has been since the
injectors have been used. The reason for this it that a plugged injector will
lean out a cylinder and damage the engine. Also, selection of the correct
injectors is very critical. Too large an injector will reduce your fuel mileage
and poor idle quality. Too small an injector will cause a lean engine condition
which will damage the engine due to the higher combustion temperatures.
Injectors are sold in sets of 8.
