Pearl Works Names New President, Launches New Website
Charlotte Hall, MD, Jan. 20, 2015 — Pioneering inlay company Pearl Works of Maryland has
announced the appointment of Bill Seymour as their new President and CEO. Seymour had
been working as a full-time consultant for Pearl Works since 2013.
With a rich entrepreneurial background and demonstrated leadership and success across
a variety of competitive industries, Seymour expects to continue pushing Pearl Works
forward, carrying on the spirit of late Pearl Works founder Larry Sifel. Seymour has already
spearheaded upgrades and modernizations to Pearl Works’ factory and has placed renewed
emphasis on Pearl Works’ custom design capabilities.
In 2014 Pearl Works launched a new website (www.pearlworks.com) that not only captures
the company’s ethos and rich history but also celebrates the craft of inlay itself through
gorgeous photographs of inlaid guitars and the contemporary inlay process.
“We see the website as a first step in documenting Pearl Works’ unique skillset and beautiful
craftsmanship,” said Bill Seymour. “We also hope to share our love of the art of inlay with
fellow travelers in the musical instrument industry and beyond.”
Seymour will be assuming some of the duties of Jean Sifel, who had become even more
actively involved in Pearl Works operations following the death of her late husband, Larry
Sifel, in 2006. While backing away from many of the day to day demands of the business,
Jean Sifel will remain involved as owner and advisor.
“Larry would be pleased to see Bill carrying on this work that he loved so much,” said Sifel.
“Bill’s energy, enthusiasm, his can-do attitude and determination, have already made a
favorable impact upon Pearl Works, our partners, and clients. I am quite sure that Larry’s
legacy is in good hands.”
Seymour appreciates the support and guidance provided by the team of artisans at Pearl
Works, many of whom learned their craft under Larry Sifel’s tutelage. “The experienced
professionals I now proudly work alongside have already provided invaluable knowledge
and assistance,” said Seymour. “I fully expect to continue calling upon their expertise.”

“This is an exciting time for Pearl Works and for the industry,” continued Seymour. “Pearl Works
will actively explore new methods, materials, technology, and applications, yet, ‘Uncompromised
Excellence’ will forever remain our mantra. I am grateful to Jean for this exciting opportunity and
I am forever mindful of my friend, Larry, as I go about my business. It is an honor to take on this
new challenge, surrounded as I am by such a talented team.”

A graduate of Gettysburg College, Bill Seymour has more than thirty years of groundbreaking
business experience, serving a series of increasingly complex and rewarding sales, marketing,
and management assignments, and playing a significant role in the growth and profitability
of several publicly and privately-held corporations. Healthcare, telecommunications, finance,
education, government, insurance, and software are among the industries Seymour has come
to know and navigate. Seymour likewise enjoys a wealth of non-profit and fund-raising related
experience. For the past twenty years, Seymour has furthermore been the “Chief Imagination
Officer” for his own creative services agency, Unstable Ink.
