The Nike Swift Cap contours to the
head due to its multiple tension
zones and overall three dimensional
design. The opening of the cap uses
a firm silicone compound to produce
a tight seal. The caps’ midsection is
soft and pliable to allow a comfortable
fit around the ears. To decrease
drag and create a wrinkle free surface
the crown of the Nike Swift Cap

Jason Lezak, 31, of Irvine, Calif., has been a member
of the Nike family since January, 2003. During his
tenure as a Nike swimmer, this two-time Olympian
was a part of the multiple-time world-record-breaking
4 x 100 medley relay (with Nike athletes Brendan
Hansen and Aaron Peirsol) and owns the American
Record in the 100 meter freestyle. Jason has been
a fixture on the U.S. National team since 2000, and
is now a veteran leader of the American squad.
He hasn’t missed an “A” team since that year.

HOMETOWN: BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY
Cullen Jones, 23, from Brunswick, N.J., has been
addicted to the water since his first plunge.
He began his professional swimming career in the
summer of 2006 after boldly signing with Nike.
Shortly thereafter, he burst onto the international
swimming scene when he set the new meet record
of 21.84 in the 50 meter freestyle at the 2006 Pan
Pacific Championships as well as setting a new world
record in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay with teammate, Jason Lezak. This earned Cullen the honor
of becoming the first African-American swimmer
to hold a world record. By the end of 2006, he
was named the USA Swimming Breakout Performer
of the Year.

HOMETOWN: HAVERTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA
Brendan Hansen has rewritten the record books
in breaststroke. At 25 years old, Brendan has been
a member of the Nike family since April, 2004, and
has been the premier breaststroker not only in the
United States, but also in the world. At the 2004
Olympics, Brendan did his hometown of Havertown,
Penn., proud by bringing home a medal of each
color: gold (400 medley relay), silver (200 breast)
and bronze (100 breast).

HOMETOWN: IRVINE, CALIFORNIA
Aaron Peirsol, 23, of Irvine, Calif., joined the Nike
family in April, 2004, and has been the dominant
backstroker on the world scene for the last five
years. Aaron holds seven of the top 10 100 and
200 meter backstrokes ever swum, and has broken
and rebroken his own world records in these events
at least five times each. He has also led off the
world-record-holding 4 x 100 meter medley relay
at virtually every international competition the United
States has sent a team to.

HOMETOWN: LAKE FOREST, CALIFORNIA
Whitney Myers, 21, is a fresh, exciting face in
USA Swimming and the Nike family. Whitney traveled
a long way from her home town of Oxford, Ohio,
to swim at the University of Arizona, where she has
made quite a name for herself as a Wildcat. She’s
won multiple NCAA titles in the 200 and 400
individual medleys (IM), and proven herself to be
a viable threat internationally after winning a gold
medal at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships in
the 200 IM. With her effervescent personality and
undeniable talent, Whitney has great potential in
the 200 and 400 IMs and has a chance to be a
freestyle relay contender as well.
Kaitlin Sandeno, 24, is a proud veteran of the
Olympic Games, a true natural in the water. This twotime Olympian took her first trip to the Olympics at
the age of 17 and won a bronze medal in the 800
meter freestyle, making her the third fastest 800
freestyler in U.S. history at the time. In 2004, she
returned to the Olympic stage, this time as part of
the Nike family. She walked away with three medals
from that competition, and in the process shattered
a 17-year-old world record in the 4 x 200 meter
freestyle relay. In addition to these impressive
accomplishments, Kaitlin has also held the American
Record for the 400 meter individual medley.
Maritza Correia, 25, from Valrico, Fl., is a pioneer
for women and African-Americans in the sport of
swimming. What began as a way to combat scoliosis,
a spinal curvature disease, became a passion that
would transform the history books of American
swimming. Ritz, as her friends know her, joined
the Nike family in April, 2003, after an extraordinary
and successful NCAA career at the University of
Georgia. As a sprint freestyler, she set multiple
American Records, resulting in 11 NCAA titles and
winning the Commissioner’s Cup at the SEC
Championships. She was the first African-American
woman to qualify for a U.S. Olympic swimming team
in 2004, and won a silver medal in the 4 x 100
freestyle relay in Athens. These achievements make
Maritza the most decorated African-American
female swimmer in history.
