We Heard You Loud and Clear
Receiving constructive criticism can be a humbling and sometimes foggy experience.
It’s no secret that we have heard many earfuls over the years about how difficult it can be
to quote and order from us. Whether it be getting pricing for specials, wandering your way
through up-charges, or just making sure that everything needed for a job is actually in the
quote, we heard you...it has historically been a prickly challenge.
So what have we done about it?
Vince Lombardi once said, “Individual commitment to a group effort--that is what makes a
team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” With your help, we set a
goal to offer our dealers the best quoting and ordering system available today for custom
cabinetry. With the hard work and dedication of many individuals, including members of our
direct staff as well as designers from across the country, we are pleased to announce that we
have taken a giant step toward that goal.
This is an important milestone in our company
history because it opens the door to ongoing
improvements to product specs, supporting
processes and the greatest opportunity of all
– easier customization and collaboration.

Josef adds more than twenty-two years of
cabinetry experience to the Grabill team.
For six years prior to joining Grabill he
worked in remodeling and designed and
sold kitchen cabinets. Joining the Grabill
team he first worked in product installation
and then moved into order processing
and engineering. His latest focus has been
on catalog and software design along with
leading Grabill dealer training activities.
For the last couple of years Josef has spent a
significant amount of his time working on the
next generation of the company’s quoting and
ordering tool. Utilizing his years of experience
along with input from both designers and
internal associates the goal was to provide a
system that was flexible and would greatly simplify
the process for designers.
Josef feels strongly that designers want and need
to stay focused on designing and selling as much as
possible. Interacting with the factory to create customer
proposals and then submitting the orders needs to be
done accurately and as efficiently as possible for them to
flourish in their business.
“I love working with our designers and offering
them shortcuts and solutions. To me, this is
what being a part of the Grabill team is all
about. Custom cabinetry and high-end design
is not for the faint of heart. I take a great deal
of satisfaction when I hear how information I

design partners to imagine, create and deliver
one-of-a-kind beautiful cabinets for nearly 70
years.
As we continue to improve and support this
vision we recognized the need to develop
a faster, more flexible tool to integrate the
combined resources of both our dealers
and corporate staff. A tool to efficiently
synchronize all the complex aspects of the
design-to-build process.

After more than two years in development
we’re very excited to deliver what we believe
to be the industry’s best quote and order
management tool for fully custom cabinets.

As we explored the off the shelf software
solutions that were available in the market,
we were not satisfied they adequately
supported the unique requirements of the
custom cabinet process. We worked with
our software partners to engineer one that
provides three important benefits.
Customize on the Fly
A designer needs to be able to add special
items as they go. The ability to search and
enter modifications has been streamlined.

dropped into the project at any time without
a lengthy or complicated verification process.
“After using the new Order Express for a few
weeks now, I think it is a great improvement
from the old pricing program. It is very easy
to enter products and attach modifications to
them. I also find the software much faster

Team Collaboration
A designer can work closely with factory
team members from both the quoting and
layout departments. While the designer is
focused on design activities and important
client interactions, a factory team member
will insert special requested price and spec
information directly into the project with a
notification sent to them. Efficiently working
together to get it right.
Ease of Use
Designers are adding their greatest value
when they are designing and communicating
with their clients. Time is money! They need
a tool that allows them to accurately and
efficiently enter a project, develop a quote
and subsequently submit the order. The new
Order Express speeds through project setup
and the entering, searching and editing of all
client, product and selection information. The
duplication feature makes quote comparisons

simple and efficient. Projects can also be
easily saved locally and worked on offline
with automatic synchronization when
reconnected.
“I love the speed of the new program, and it
is quite user friendly with regards to editing
items and I LOVE the duplication option :). Many times clients will want pricing in different
finishes and asking what does this finish cost
vs another finish, so in that aspect I like the
flexibility of the new program.”

We’re excited about the present functionality
of this new tool and, we have plans for a
number of enhancements we’ll be rolling out
in the not too distant future.
Feedback is always welcome so let us
know what you like and any additional
feature ideas. Make sure to print copies of
your jobs from the old system as soon as
possible because old project data will not
be transferred from Grabill Connect. On
September 30th the old server will be taken
offline. Please let us know if you have any

Dear Grabill Dealer,
Late summer update in the works
Are you ready to save even more time on
your Grabill projects? Of course you are! At
long last, the new Order Express program is
ready to help you begin saving more time!
Later this summer, a significant data update
will give you even more reasons to smile
as it will include a host of catalog related
door styles and finishes everyone’s been
waiting for and best of all, it will be released
simultaneously with our digital catalog, the
Grabill Smart Spec. Two powerful tools to
have in your Grabill tool kit!
Old system expiration
As a reminder, the old Grabill Connect
program will be taken offline permanently
on September 30th. All quotes and all project
information remaining in the old system will
be lost.
Download invitation email
In the next few business days all users
currently subscribed to the old Connect
system should receive a new email invitation
to download the new Order Express program
to their PC, along with user login information
and an installation key code for the initial
installation.
You’ll want to be sure to be sure to download
and install it promptly before the electronic
invitation expires, even if you don’t intend to
use it immediately. (Get the Installation
