“Mobile Ambassadors of Telephone Pioneering”
International Director’s Message 2004
I want to begin by recognizing Dallas Leier, for his dedication and leadership.
During his six years as our International Director, he and his wife, Lorna, devoted
an incredible amount of their time and effort, for the benefit of the Telephone
Pioneer Family Campers. This is in addition to the years that Dallas and Lorna
have been active in what we all knew as the TPA (Telephone Pioneers Of America)
and now has changed to TP (TelecomPioneers). Dallas has held many offices
within the TP organization and was recently reelected as the St. Paul, MN. Life
Member President. No sooner did he step down from the International Director’s
position, he was then appointed as International Administrator for the ITPFC,
replacing Bob Bonn. Dallas has taken on an even more time consuming job.
Good luck to you both, Dallas and Lorna. I am honored to have been elected to
the International Director’s position. My first official order of business, was to
appoint Dallas Leier, as the International Administrator and Maryann Bench as
the International Telephone Pioneer Family Campers, Secretary.
Talking about dedication, leads me to the next couple that deserves our
most sincere appreciation and that would be Bob and June Bonn. Bob was the
International Administrator for the TPFC,
from 1983, when Francis Smith
(TPFC#1) and Tom Snow (TPFC#2),
asked Bob to accept an appointment to
this position, until 2003. That’s twenty
years and many personal goals and desires put on hold, in order to dedicate the
time and work that is required to fulfill
the requirement’s of the Administrator’s
position. Obviously, Bob and June’s family were involved with a good deal of the
work. Thank you, seems inadequate, but
I
am hoping you will have the time to do
Maryann Bench, Peggy & JoeVenuti
what you have put off for so many years.
(I’m anxious to see the finished product of your ’65 Ford Mustang) I want to
personally thank both of you for your guidance and help, during my six years as
Western Region Vice President.
I want to acknowledge Maryann Bench for the numerous years she has
volunteered her time and effort, helping the Telephone Pioneer Family Campers. She was my Western Region TPFC Secretary from 1996 to 2002. She prepares and mails the Arizona Copper State Bells flyer and has been the International TPFC Secretary
for many years and as
mentioned before, has
accepted that position
for the coming year. I
was both happy and
pleased,
when
Maryann was rewarded for her dedication by being commissioned as the Honorable
Maryann
Bench, Kentucky
Colonel, at the 2000

Rally Edition
First, I would like to thank everyone for all the work they did to make this
rally a success. Without everyone’s help and support we could not have had
such a great rally.
I will try to recap the events that took place before and during the rally.
Since I took care of registrations, I can easily give you some statistics.
The first guests arrived on Monday, with the bulk of the attendees arriving on
Thursday and Friday. In total, we had 52 campsites and 110 people in attendance.
Additionally, we had 4 people join us for dinner on Saturday night, who were
not camping with us.
The breakdown, by Club is:
Bell Tel Trampers

Everyone was escorted to
their sites in a timely
manner, after being greeted
by someone from the
welcoming committee and
receiving their welcome

BACKROADS DINNING EXPERIENCE by Bob Bonn
While traveling to our Great River Region Rally in the Fall of 2002 a group
of Heart of America Caravaners stumbled on an unusual place to eat lunch. The
place was called “Frannies”, located just off the Square in Yates Center, KS.
The meal served here beats Meals on Wheels any time. Your meat entree,
vegetable and beverage costs a buck and a big slice of home made pie costs
another buck. You have to be satisfied with only one choice for the meal but
you have over 20 delicious pie selections to choose from.
After your meal you must clean your table and take the dished to the kitchen.
Then you proceed to the open register, drop in the $2.12 cost of the meal and
make your own change.
Fannies is located just east of the junction of US Hwy 54 and US Hwy 75 in
Yates Center, located in Southeast Kansas. If you are coming up from the South
and Southeast to travel to Gillette this June, plan to have a lunch stop at Frannies.
It has been said, “There is no free lunch!” But this is the closest you can come
to it.

ITPFC rally in Astoria, Oregon. Upon our way to the 32nd International Rally,
in Columbia, Mo., Peggy and I traveled to Burlington, Co., for the Rocky Mountain Region Rally, held by the Colo./Wyo. Pioneer Campers and hosted by Doug
and Vi Cook. About 37 rig’s from 8 states, were treated to a fun filled couple of
days. We parked at Miller’s R. V. park and the activities were at “Old Town”,
which included a horse drawn wagon ride to see and to ride on an old 1900s
carousel. The lunch and dinner at the museum, as well as the social times at the
saloon, were great. Thank you Doug, Vi and the Colo/Wyo Pioneer Campers,
for an enjoyable campout.
Most of the Family Campers that were at the Rocky Mountain Region Rally,
continued on to Columbia. Anyone that didn’t attend the 32nd International
TPFC Rally ,”The Place To Be In 2003", missed out on the wonderful reception, provided by “yur huggin cuzins” of the Heart of America Family Camper’s
Club and the great facility at the Boone County Fairgrounds. The rally was held
on Oct. 7,8 9, 2003. The weather was beautiful, the building was large enough
to accommodate all of our meeting’s, meal’s and entertainment. There was ample
room for several seminar’s on subject’s from health, traveling with pets, towing
and braking, tire safety, weight safety and driving challenges as we age, conducted by our own Bob Bonn. The tours, to the downtown area’s of Columbia
and Fulton Mo., as well as the Isle of Capri Casino, were at full capacity. I heard
many people say the tours were worth their time and very enjoyable. The food
was outstanding and plenty of second’s for anyone so inclined. I would like to
acknowledge the Columbia City Fire Department, for the Presentation of Colors. Speakers: Keith Scharre, County Commissioner, George Harris, Fairground
Manager, Jody Russell, Convention Services, our own Lou Hoehle, former International Director and Al Fogle, International Wagonmaster. Peggy and I want
to thank Al and Ivon Fogle, IWM, Don French, Coordinator, and the numerous
people from the Heart Of America and Gateway clubs, that helped make this an
outstanding rally. I’ll leave the number of Family Campers and rigs attending as
well as other statistic’s regarding the rally, for Al and Jim Patterson, Central
Region VP, to report on the final results.
Business item’s that were completed, include: Roger Desaultels, from Quebec, Canada, bid for the 2006 rally, to be held in Montreal, Quebec, about mid
May 2006. The bid was accepted for the 2006 Rally in the Eastern Region.
Dave Hemmer, from the 10,000 Lake Campers, bid for the 2007 rally, to be held
in Forest City, Iowa, at the Winnebago Factory Campground, on Aug. 20th. The
bid was accepted for the 2007 Rally in the Central Region.
The Central Region VP’s three year term was completed and there was a
nomination for Jim Patterson, the current CRVP. There were no other
nominations. During the General Membership meeting, the aforementioned items
were presented (moved), seconded and approved by membership vote. The
Eastern Region VP’s three year term will be completed this year. Jim Persing is
currently the VP and is eligible to hold office for another term. Nomination’s
for Eastern Region Vice President need to be sent to me, a minimum of 60 day’s
before our International Rally in Gillette, WY., June 15, 2004. April 15, 2004, is
the last day for nomination’s for the Eastern Region Vice President. Please send
them to: International Director Joe Venuti, 4580 N. Placita De Las Chacras,
Tucson, Az. 85718, or E-mail [email protected]. At the 2004 Rally in
Gillette, WY., we will be accepting bids from the Western Region, for the 2008
International TPFC Rally.
The Executive Committee decided that the minutes from our Executive
Committee and General Membership meeting’s should be included in the “Hello
Central” publication and on our web page, so that they will be available for all
member’s to read. Hopefully, this will be of interest to you.
Dallas Leier recently attended a meeting and training session with the
TP(TelecomPioneers), in Denver. He received a copy of their revised By-laws
and I want to include a paragraph, pertaining to membership in the TP corporation,
for our review and understanding. We will discuss this at our meeting in Gillette,
WY., in regards to our membership in the ITPFC.

ITPFC
WYOMING-2004 PARTY ON THE PRAIRIE
(N.E.A.R.).... continued from page 2
dampened things a bit, but everything went smooth.
Thursday evening, our Chaplain, Tommy Seiler, led us in a tribute to the 9/
11 victims. Candles were provided, and we sang and prayed aloud and in silence
in memory of the victims, their families and the heroes who saved so many
lives.
Friday morning was spent filling the door prize bags. Friday afternoon
Betty and Ed DiPietro arrived with the soup and sandwiches for dinner. Craig
Dusenbery got out his stove and pots and helped Betty with the soup, while
others helped with setting up. Maureen O’Brien made placemats for the tables
and Tommy Seiler made up neat little bags with sand, shells and a cute saying
on the bag, so everyone could take home a bit of NJ. As our theme was “Down
by the sea in 2003” the placemats and beach decorations were quite appropriate.
Also all the Wagoneers provided cookies for dessert. The soup and sandwiches
were excellent and we had very little left over. Phyllis Ozeransky and Gloria
Fogel and their coffee crew made sure we had coffee available, as well as iced
tea and lemonade. Dinner was followed by the rally executive board committee.
Saturday got off to a busy start with “coffee and” being available at
8:30. Nancy Thompson ordered 10 dozen bagels and mini muffins, along
with cream cheese, butter and jelly. There was also orange juice and coffee
available. The serving tables were covered and decorated with flowers and
each type of gourmet bagel was in it’s own basket with a label identifying it. It
was very nicely done and tasted good too! The opening ceremony and meeting
was started off with another prayer by Tommy. Skip Hendricks welcomed
everyone and reviewed the day’s activities. Door prizes were given out, .and
Jim Persing and Charlie Robinson had a chance to fill us in on regional activities.
Betty Harris and her raffle team were selling tickets at the meals. They did an
excellent job in raising money to help defray the cost of the rally.
At 1:00pm on Saturday we had our ice cream social. There were many
servers helping out, and the ice cream was good, especially when it had some of
the many available toppings on it. We had some time to socialize and then we
had a horse race. It was a fun event and many people had the chance to be a
jockey and try to coax their horses to the finish line. I think all the participants
had fun, some went home with more money than they came with and there were
some lighter pockets also.
Page 3
As the pavilion emptied out, the decorating committee, led by Linda
Hendricks, went to work. The drab pavilion started to take on the appearance of
a tropical isle. There were wall decorations, colored tablecloths, table decorations
and centerpieces, and the serving area was dressed for the luau. Lars Anderson
set the stage up with his equipment and speakers as well as the decorations he
brought along. It was quite a sight when it was all done.
Ken Heins and Linda welcomed the arriving dinner guests and presented
them with a lei. We had 114 people join us for the dinner. Lars entertained
everyone and then the raffle prizes were awarded to the lucky ticket holders.
And then it was time to eat. Nancy Thompson had recommended the caterer
based on past experiences with them. And her choice was an excellent one. We
had pulled pork, chicken, potato salad, baked beans and corn on the cob.
Everything was delicious. And of course the Bell Wagoneers provided some
real good home made desserts and other treats to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
After dinner we were entertained by a Hawaiian dancer who performed some
traditional island dances for us. The Seiler’s and Betty Harris had seen her
before, and suggested we consider her for entertainment at the rally. Another
wise suggestion, as she was good. The rest of the evening Lars played his
music, taught some dance steps, and had quite a good crowd up and dancing
with him and Lori.
Sunday morning Nancy Thompson was up early making donuts for everyone
(well, at least she went to pick them up). The coffee crew was in action again,
making sure everyone had their caffeine fix for the day. I had taken digital
pictures over the weekend, burned some cd’s in the morning and tried to give
one to those from the other Club’s who attended the breakfast. I will make
more for the Bell Wagoneers.
After breakfast was over, it was time to remove the decorations and clean
up. Yes, we left it cleaner than we found it! Many people from the other Clubs
thanked us for putting on a great rally. I also received an email afterwards
thanking us for our hospitality.
I know I did not mention everyone’s name in this review, and please don’t
be offended. Every one who was there pitched in and helped whenever and
wherever it was needed. Thank you for the door prizes, the donated raffle prizes,
bringing the cookies and desserts and for helping with the setting up, decorating,
serving the food, and cleaning up.
There was a lot of effort put into this rally, and we are fortunate enough to
have very active and dedicated member’s to help make a rally like this a success.
THANK YOU!
Respectfully submitted,
John O’Brien

THE REST OF THE STORY.....
From Arizona Phone Phokes News Letter
As many of us do, Audrey VanLeuken, treated herself to some fluffing &
buffing at Gloria’s during the Pholks’ annual visit to Rocky Point last November.
Audrey asked Gloria if she knew a good dentist for John to visit. Gloria
recommended her own brother who has his office at the Clinica Hospital Santa
Fe.
As they approached the Hospital for John’s appointment, they noticed a
parked car with a Canadian license plate. In the waiting area they observed a
man walking back & forth who was obviously distressed & upset. Audrey
approached
him,
introduced herself &
offered assistance. He
identified himself as
Tom
Trutch
&
acknowledged that he
was the owner of the
Canadian car. They
were on their first big
trip after retiring. They
had come to RP to meet
a group, were late & the others had left. His wife, Sue, had fallen at the fish
market, broken her hip & was there in the Hospital. He was unable to
communicate with the staff, couldn’t get through on the card phone to Canada
& didn’t seem to know what to do next. With his permission Audrey talked
with the doctor who spoke English pretty well. After all options for her treatment
were considered, Canada decided to send a jet for her. In the meantime, Sue
was feeling quite cold. The blanket that was brought for her was clean but very
worn.
John took Tom to get some food & begin preparations for his departure to
Canada with Sue. Tom Moore loaned Tom 2 duffle bags. John took Tom to
Playa Bonita, emptied the refrigerator in the motor home, arranged the storage
of the Trutch’s rig & car & devised a “carrier” for the cat by punching holes in
a box.
Audrey returned to Playa Elegante, picked up Joeann Wilson, who speaks
Spanish & could assist with the
communication back at the
Hospital. Another blanket was
requested for Sue & this one was
as thin as the first one.
By now the plane was arriving.
The ambulance was called to
transport Sue to it for $20. She,
Tom & the cat flew home where
Sue had surgery. She is
recovering. They returned to AZ in January. The VanLeukens took them back
to RP to get their coach & car. Tom was very pleased to find everything just as
he had left it & very grateful to Audrey & John VanLeuken for their gracious
& generous assistance.
After the original emergency was handled, Joeann Wilson returned to the
little 6 bed Hospital & spoke with the Administrator. She agreed that they were
very short of hospital linens & those they did have were pretty shabby.. Joeann
thought the Phone Pholks might be able to help & solicited a “wish list”. Joeann
brought it to the club & the response was immediate & enthusiastic.
Now that is the rest of the story!!!!!
TPFC CENTRAL REGION
by Jim Patterson
I have been trying for days to put together something good enough for you
to read and enjoy but the closer the deadline gets, the harder it is to come up
with something. I have been watching how time changes as we “Mature.” I
was a camper when I started to work for Ma Bell being raised on a farm in east
Texas that is bordered on one side by the Attoyac river which kept me outdoors
a lot while growing up. My brothers and I fish a lot after school and on weekends
there were always some of our city friends that would come over and we would
spend a night or two in the creek bank fishing and cooking over a camp fire. We
didn’t have a rod and reel. We would dig worms or sien a ditch for bait and cut
poles from the cane breaks along the river bottoms. Most of our fishing was
done by putting out set hooks up and down the river banks, running them about
every two hours and sitting around the camp fire telling tales and drinking coffee
boiled in a syrup bucket and if we were lucky enough to catch anything it went
in the frying pan. If anyone got any sleep they did it early in between stories or
before they got so scared they couldn’t sleep. Sometime it would be breaking
day before the brave fishermen would run the hooks. That is what I call camping.
I always held fond memories of those times and looked forward to retiring and
teaching my grand kids how to camp. We took my youngest grandson and
granddaughter camping last summer and I must say “Things have changed.”
We went in the motor home with all their treats, like Nintendo with 40 different
games, baby dolls, suntan lotion, mosquito repellent, ice cream, color TV, plenty
of groceries and store bought watermelon and most of everything they owned.
We had a great time but would you call that camping? Things do change.
One day you think the war in Iraq is over and the next day we loose a Huey
Helicopter and 9 American Troops. The next day the spring grass is beginning
to grow and the weather reports say the East coast is having the worst Arctic
storm in 150 years. Vermont had minus 27 degrees. I just saw where Foretravel
called back 200 employees and it looked like camping was going to get better
than when I filled up with diesel today the price had jumped up 6 cents a gallon.
We were planning to sell some stock so we could go to Gillette, Wyoming for
the “International TPFC Rally” but with stock bouncing like a rubber ball and it
seems like it continues to go lower than higher. Maybe I should have bought
into Enron or Quest, even though you loose your money, you at least get you
name in the news.
It’s sad when you see a good person doing a good job and without notice is
reduced from a $70,000 job to a store clerk making minimum wage and not
quiet old enough to draw Social Security because of the economy. You can
think or say what you like but folks, we are the lucky ones. If you researched
History, I don’t think you would find that any generation had it any better than
us. We should be thankful, so let’s get out and wash and wax our rigs and enjoy
what we can while we can.
Last year was a great year and this one will be even better because we can
add to the pleasant memories of the past. We did not get to make as many camp
outs as we would have like but the ones we did make were great. One in particular.
It was the “5 State Great Rivers Rally” in Villa Ridge, Missouri. It was in a
beautiful park, the weather was just right and entertainment that fit all of us.
The food was all delicious, and plenty of it. Some said I enjoyed it so much
because I have never been in a state before that had as many Wineries.
Everyone there won a prize and all the Hosts were the”Down Home” type of
people that really made you enjoy being there. I’m not taking anything away
from the International Rally that was held a week earlier at “Boon County Fair
Grounds.” The food was excellent, the entertainment was great and even though
we had a little rain, the weather was cool and very enjoyable. Al Fogel and his
staff did an outstanding job.
We have had several region Rallies through out the Central Region this past
year and have more coming up in the near future and if any one in interested let
me know and I will try to get the information to you.
The weather has changed a lot since we first started camping many years
ago. It seems as though we could predict the weather a little better when we
planned a camp out then. We could pick a nice weekend and even if we missed
our prediction, we might get a local shower or a weak cold front which really
didn’t bother much, but lately it goes from one extreme to the other. I try to
watch the weather reports on TV or the radio and they are each different and
change drastically about every 15 minutes. Makes a fellow a little hesitant to
try to plan a long trip in the late Fall or early Spring. I just don’t want to get
stranded in snow or a hail storm or a flood. The rest I can handle. When we do
go camping, one of the most important thing to do is to remember:
“LEAVE IT CLEANER THAN YOU FOUND IT”

EASTERN REGION REPORT
The 2003 Eastern Region Rally season started off in Perry Ga, in early May.
The rally was hosted by the” Peach State Pioneer Campers” in the Fair Harbor
RV Park. There was a lot to see in the area which kept everyone pretty busy, if
you haven’t been there it is well worth the trip. It did get a little breezy one
evening especially for some of the members who forgot their tie downs. For
those that attended we must say that the sausage and biscuits were as good as
promised. The next S.E.A.R rally will be held April 16-18, 2004 at Clerbrook
Resort in Clermont Florida hosted by the Sunshine Bells.
The 6th annual N.E.A.R. was held in” Big Timber Lake Resort” at Cape
May Court House and New Jersey, hosted by the Bell Wagoneers. It was a little
damp but the hosts had quite a busy schedule which included an Hawaiian Luau
complete with Hawaiian dancers to include lessons from John for those who
needed help. It was a great time as everyone did receive a lei from a member of
the Bell Wagoneers. The next N.E.A.R. will be hosted by the Penn-Del Club
Hill Campground in Kutztown, PA. October 8-10, 2004.
Then it was off to the 2003 International in Missouri, Al Fogle and all of
the” KC Cuzins” put on an excellent rally, it was nice meeting all the friends
you haven’t seen since the last International and making new ones. We said
goodbye to Bob and June Bonn as Administrators, giving Bob time to catch up
on the Honey-do list that June said has gotten quite long over the years. Dallas
Leier moving from the International Director to taking the large task of
Administrator and electing Joe Venuti as the new International Director. Good
luck to all of them.
After the International a group of us headed for the Great Rivers 5 State
rally just outside St. Louis, the hosts were the “Gateway Family Campers.” As
expected they put on one outstanding 5 state, all that attended are still talking
about it, all I can say is “Thanks to their entire club for being such gracious
hosts.”
As we go forward remember this is your International, it needs your support
to go forward, with out it there is no International. Keep your clubs active, let
the Administrator know about changes that need to be made on the membership.
Submit your camping schedule for the up coming year so members visiting
your area can visit. Also remember that the Regional Vice Presidents are there
for you, use them.
Jim Persing, Eastern Region VP
Camp Grounds
A rather old fashioned lady, always quite delicate and elegant, especially in
her language, was planning a weeks holiday in Sydney with her husband, so she
wrote to a particular camping ground and asked for a reservation.
She wanted to make sure that the camping ground was fully equipped, but
didn’t know quite how to ask about the toilet facilities. She just couldn’t bring
herself to write the word “toilet” in her letter.
After much thought, she finally came up with the old fashioned term
“Bathroom closet” but when she wrote it down, she still thought she was being
to forward, so she started all over again, rewrote the letter, and referred to the
bathroom closet as the B.C. “Does the camping ground have it’s own B.C.” is
what she wrote.
Well, the camping ground owner wasn’t a bit old fashioned, and he just
couldn’t figure out what the old lady was talking about, so he showed the letter
around a few of the campers and the only thing they could come up with was
that B.C. stood for Baptist Church, so he wrote the following reply.
Page 5
go there and many take their lunches along and make a day of it. They usually
arrive nice and early and stay quite late.
The last time my wife and I went was six years ago, and it was so crowded
we had to stand up the whole time we were there. It may interest you to know
that there is a special supper planned there to raise money to buy more seats so
that everyone will be able to sit in comfort.
I would like to say that it pains me very much not to be able to go more
regularly, but it is surely no lack of desire on my part just that I am so busy most
of the time.
As we grow older, it seems to be more of an effort to go, especially in the
cold weather. If you decided to come down to our camping ground perhaps I
could go with you the first time you go, sit with you and introduce you to all the
other folks.
Remember this is a very friendly community.
Western Vice President Report
The Oct.7-10 dates for the International Rally in Columbia, Missouri worked
out great for Betty & me. Autumn in Missouri is beautiful. We took our time
getting back to Arizona, finally getting home Nov.3. Five months on the road great summer trip. The sign-up sheet I had at Columbia for the Quartzsite, Az
RV & Travel Show Jan. 20-24, 2004 didn’t attract much attention. We had ten
rigs parked on the “golf course” and many Pioneers and friends stopped by to
visit. Shopping kept everyone busy and we had great weather. Willie Smith
from Utah cooked Brats in beer for everyone on Wed. evening. The ladies
furnished pot-luck dishes to go with the Brats. We had a lot of visitors that
evening so Willie ran out of Brats but no one went away hungry. Wieners filled
in for the Brats. On Thursday evening, Joe Venuti played his guitar for a couple
hours. That brought a crowd. There were people standing in the streets listening
to his great music. Folks, try to get a visual image of this; sitting under the stars
with good friends, a roaring campfire and Joe Venuti playing his guitar. It doesn’t
get any better than that. The New Mexico Zia Drifters are hosting the Rocky
Mountain Regional Rally June 3-7, 2004 at Red Rock State Park in Gallup,
NM. This park is in a beautiful location and has great facilities for a large group.
The Zia Drifters Wagon Master, John Perniciaro should have good attendance
at this rally. It is timed perfectly for all who attend to have plenty of time to get
to the International Rally in Gillette, Wyo. June 14-18. The Montana
Mountaineers and Wagon Master Mack Wille are hosting a multi-state campout
June 6-9, 2004 at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, forty miles east of Butte
on I90. This campout is also in a great location and timed perfectly for Pioneers
from Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alberta headed for Gillette. ! Drive Friendly
and see you in Gillette.

Attitude is Everything
by Francie Baltazar-Schwartz
I regret very much the delay in answering your letter, but I now take the
pleasure of informing you that a B.C. is located nine miles north of our camping
ground, and is capable of seating 250 people at one time.
Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood
and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how
he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I’d be twins!” He was a
unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around
from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because
of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad
day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the
situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry
and asked him, “I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time.
How do you do it?” Jerry replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself,
I admit that it is quite a distance away if you are in the habit of going
regularly but no doubt you will be pleased to know that a great number of campers

‘Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you
can choose to be in a bad mood.’ I choose to be in a good mood. When something
bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I
choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can
choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I
choose the positive side of life.” “Yeah, right, it’s not that easy,” I protested.
“Yes it is.”Jerry said. “Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk,
every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose
how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad
mood. The bottom line: It’s your choice how you live life.” I reflected on what
Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business.
We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life
instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something
you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open
one morning and was held up at gun point by three armed robbers. While trying
to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination
lock. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively
quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and
weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of
the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the incident.
When I asked how he was, he replied, “If I were any better, I’d be twins. Wanna
see my scars?” I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone
through his mind as the robbery took place. “The first thing that went through
my mind was that I should have locked the back door,” Jerry replied. “Then, as
I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or
I could choose to die. I chose to live.” “Weren’t you scared? Did you lose
consciousness?” I asked. Jerry continued, “The paramedics were great. They
kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the
emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses,
I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, ‘He’s a dead man.’ I knew I needed to
take action.” “What did you do?” I asked. “Well, there was a big, burly nurse
shouting questions at me.” said Jerry. “She asked if I was allergic to anything.
‘Yes.’ I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my
reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, ‘Bullets!’ Over their laughter, I told them,
‘I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.’” Jerry lived
thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I
learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.

2003 TPFC International
Columbia, Missouri
The 2003" TPFC International Rally”
was held in Columbia, MO. on October
7th, 8th & 9th, and was a great success. The
Heart of America club all stepped up to
the tasks at hand and did a great job in
carrying out their assignments. We also
had a lot of good help from the Gateway
Club from St. Louis, MO. Everyone was
faced with multiple assignments
throughout the Rally planning and
eventually the Rally itself. They all did a
fantastic wine and cheese party and lots
of “good ole” country hospitality.
During the day we had various
vendors in the pavilion displaying their
products and providing seminars on a
variety of topics. Seminars on tire and
weight safety, towing and braking, fire and life safety, health and medicine costs,
traveling with pets and driving safer as we age, were all well attended. Outside
we had three R/V dealers with various rigs on display.
The three tours: 1. The
casino trip to Booneville, 2.
The downtown tour to the
Martin house, the candy
factory, the museum of
Anthropology@ MU and
lunch in downtown
Columbia, 3. The Fulton
tour to the “Winston
Churchill Memorial.” the”
Berlin Wall” display and
the “Antique Car Museum”
were all enjoyed by those who went.
It was evident that
those 478 of us that
attended like to eat as we
had 327 at the breakfast,
399 at lunch and 449 at
dinner to enjoy the fine
food that was provided by
Chris Cakes and Nemo
Food Promotions.
The evenings were
highlighted by the great
entertainment we had
booked for the Rally. “Carl Zschiegner, Loech & Hall” and” The Heart of
Missouri “chorus all provided us with three evenings of great entertainment.
In addition to all of this, throughout the Rally, we gave out over 200 door
prizes and gifts with the Hillbilly auction and the “Pot of Gold” raffle being big
attractions and getting a lot
of participation.
I want to commend the
“Boone
County
Fairgrounds” and their
manager and staff for all of
their help and guidance in
providing us a great facility

Herman City Park, MO
July 18 thru 20th, 2003
Mike decided to go the back way from where we live to Herman. I settled
in for a nice drive and all of a sudden we were there. Here it was only 41 miles
from our house to Herman City Park. Of course it was two lane very narrow
road but with enough to drink I didn’t mind at all. Most everyone else was there
by the time we got there on Friday. Our CO hosts the Savages were a little
under the weather (Chris fell and hurt her arm) so we asked the Edwards to help
also. Jim had already iced up the watermelons so it was just set up the camper
and visit for a while with all our friends. A shady tree, a comfortable lawn chair
and an icy drink –life is good.
After dinner Sandy proceeded to get out her very dangerous knife and cut
up the Watermelon that was iced down just right. We made short work of two
watermelons and then it was time for the seed_spitting contest. Some were too
shy to join in but all gave catcalls as those brave souls lined up to give it a try.
Nancy Singletary was our winner—she can spit just like a pro. Jan Robinson
needs a few lessons. The rest of the evening was spent with some playing cards
and some just exchanging tall tales.
Saturday dawned with a promise of sunshine and warm weather.
The meeting was called to order by Sandy Edwards at 10:00a.m.
The secretary forgot the minutes so they were approved as received. The treasurer
was missing in action again but she called the Wagonperson with the balance in
the bank of $415.00. Karen Schenck asked Herman Singletary if he would
trade Wagonperson years with her because of health reasons. Herman agreed—
so it now will read Herman Singletary Wagonmaster for 2004 and Karen Schenck
Wagonperson for 2005. All of the above was made into a motion by Jack Schenck
and seconded by Ginney McClaskey. The motion was approved.
Old Business:
The Hosts said that the Wine and cheese had been changed to Chocolate Waffles
and ice cream. The Singletary’s said the Christmas party will be December 7th
at Berkshire Grill
Natural Bridge and St. Charles Rock Road.
New Business:
Jim Ellis and Herman Singletary will do the church Service at the International
on Sunday. A lengthy discussion followed on the International and the request
for our help.
It was decided that Sandy would call Kansas City and find out the cost for the
days before the rally begins. Sandy found out that they would like us there for
Saturday to park the rigs as they come in. Because of the cost per night some
members are coming in on Friday and some on Saturday morning before
10:00a.m. The Kansas City group will be there on Thursday.
Great Rivers Rally
Treasurers report $200.00 to Bandanna’s and $126.00 to Southern Patch

Our group arrived at the 32nd International TPFC rally on Sunday the 5th of
October. Four RV’s left Minnesota in one group. Two more units joined us in
Pella, Iowa and two more joined our group a couple of miles before we entered
the fair grounds. The welcome committee was out in full force when we arrived.
They checked us in at the gate and then there was an escort to take us to the
campsite.
A BIG THANK YOU to Al & Lavon Fogle, Linda & Don Peppenger, Bob

Many hugs and thanks go out to all who attended the recent October Rallies, the Rocky Mountain Regional
Rally in Burlington Colorado and the T.P.F.C. International in Columbia, Missouri. Nothing outside of enjoyable
seems to sum up the camping experience that we all had. Many more memories were made due to our ample
Family Camper attendance and campaigning efforts. We were victorious in attaining our very own “Joe Venuti”
as the new International Director of the T.P.F.C., replacing Dallas Leier who accepted the position of International
Administrator, replacing Bob Bonn who retired. Joe, upon receiving his nomination, immediately called on
our own Maryann Bench to continue her attributes as International Secretary of the T.P.F.C. Arizona family
Campers should feel mighty proud to host all the new officers and continue to support future growth to the
T.P.F.C. organization.
Carol Geiss, our Secretary, has contributed the latest on our
October travels:
Burlington, Colorado was the location for the Rocky Mountain
Rally, hosted by the Colorado-Wyoming Telephone Family
Campers. Approximately 40 rigs from seven states gathered at miller R.V. Park. Fourteen rigs were in attendance
from Arizona. Two of these were CSB’s. Thursday morning, the official start of the rally, brought cold weather, wind
and rain. Most people stayed in their rigs most of the day due
to the weather. Arrangements were made for us to have use of
the saloon at Burlington’s “Old Town” and by 5:00 P.M. a good
crowd had gathered at the saloon for munchies and mingling.
A catered dinner followed in the museum building, which I was
told, was very good.
Friday Morning dawned beautifully. Some went to the saloon for coffee and donuts while others waited
to show up for the carousel ride and bar-b-que lunch; even thought this reporter did not attend. I understand
it was all very nice and everyone especially enjoyed the carousel, a national historic landmark. I did show
up after lunch to see the can-can dancers, which came form the local high school and also from the ColoradoWyoming Family Campers. What good sports Doug Cook and Ron Hathaway were to dress up as can-can dancers to
entertain us, along with the girls. Bob Mead was Chosen “Big Spender” by the Girls as they serenaded him. Betty is
still laughing about that. She said ‘NOT.” Free time after the show to see “Our Town” or check out Burlington.
Games and cards in the campground office in the evening and getting ready to leave in the morning for International.
Thanks to Doug and Viola Cook and those that helped them for all their hard work and making this an enjoyable
gathering.

Montreal 2006
It’s an invitation to all TPFC.
Where: Montreal Quebec Canada • When: May 15th , 17th and 18th 2006
In 2002 after having been challenged by the TPFC in the Eastern Region, Colette and I decided to host a non
official rally near Montreal. Every one enjoyed their visit and word got around that the rally was a success.
The report may be read on the TPFC internet site www.tpfc.net then click “States” then “Pennsylvania” On
the opening page of the Keystone Roamers, click “pictures” then “2002 Montreal Rally” There is a very
good description of the things to do and see in the area. The campground where the rally will take place may
also be checked at www.campingalouette.com
When we attended the NEAR Rally in the Fall of 2002, we were approached by many members and executives
including the region VP. to organize the International Rally for 2006. Since we do not have a local TPFC
club in the area the rally will be supported by the Eastern Region and it will take place near Montreal. This
rally will be a team effort: Every club in the region
will have an area of responsibility in the preparation
and hosting such an event.
It is also possible to extend the rally into a 2 or 3
weeks vacations. A discount rate
agreement is being worked out for the
weeks before and after the rally.

and all others that helped. The “Country Cousins”
really had a GREAT Rally.
On Monday the tours started and you could go
to various places. Some of the Pioneers went on the
Casino tour; some came back happy, some not so
happy. Then we had the downtown Columbia tour.
The tour included, the Martin House Mall, a Candy
Factory (hum good), and the Museum of
Anthropology at Missouri University (very
interesting). Tuesday’s tours went to Fulton, MO.
We went to an Antique car Museum, (the Dairy
Queen next door received a lot of extra business)
and the Winston Churchill Memorial and we where
able to see a section of the Berlin Wall. Two very
interesting places. Now talk about interesting
seminars. To name just a few. Towing and Braking,
Tire Safety, Fire and Life Safety with a Live Burn
Demonstration that you could participate in. There
where vendors and RV dealers. With all of the many
different actives going on a person didn’t have much
time to eat and sleep.
At the opening ceremonies the Columbia City
Fire Department presented the colors. Linda
Pippenger gave the invocation. A singer from the
Stephens College of Music led us in the United States
and Canadian National Anthems. We had speakers
from the County Commissioner, Fairground
Manager, Convention Service Manager and Lou
Hoehle from the TPFC.
We had about 225 RV’s and several of the TPFC
members staying at the near by motels.
At the Columbia Missouri 2003 Rally we had
two nominations for the International Director:
Charlie Robinson and Joe Venuti and one nomination
for Central Region V-P; Jim Patterson. A paper ballot
vote was taken for the International Director’s
position and Joe Venuti was elected. Thank you
Charlie and Joe for running for this position.
Congratulations Joe. Jim Patterson ran unopposed.
Thank You, Jim for the past 3 years as the Central
Region V-P and we look forward to the next 3 years.
Thank You to Mickey Haydel for serving on the

Quebec. They won the bid and plan to hold the rally
in May of 2006. Thank you Roger for stepping
forward to make a bid for the rally. Lorna and I are
looking forward to your rally near Montreal and hope
a lot of others are doing the same. I am sure that you
will have a lot of help from the NEAR, Pioneer

the bid and plan to hold the rally in August of 2007.
Thank You, Dave for the Central Region bid. We
look forward to seeing the Winnebago facilities and

The weather was a little cool and we did have a little
rain. On the last evening Bob & June Bonn let us on
a parade through the campground in our vehicles
because it was too muddy to walk.

At the 2004 International Rally in Gillette we
will be accepting bids from the Western Region for

Have you checked the TPFC.NET web site
lately? More clubs now have their own web site.
We then link that web site from the International
TPFC web site. We would like to see more of the
clubs have a web site. You can change dates and
make corrections as necessary. It sure is nice when
you are traveling to take a look at the state web site
to see if there are any campouts in that area.
Please send news items, photos, dates and places
of your campouts to the “Hello Central” editor, Paul

assistance that she gave in helping do the job. She
was always there to give advice and comments and
I could not have done the job without her. I would
like to thank, Lou Hoehle, Charlie Robinson, Bob

INTERNATIONAL
ADMINISTRATOR’S MESSAGE 2004
The TPFC members that attended the Columbia, MO Rally this fall saw in a way how
I felt about this job and the good work that our previous administrator’s Bob & June Bonn
did. Although Bob was appointed the administrator I could see from the outside looking in
that June helped out a lot. They make a great team. I had worn my LARGE clown shoes on
the stage and held up my feet, one at a time, to show the members that I felt I was going to
try to fill some mighty big shoes. No clowning around, I will do my best. Over the period of
twenty years as the International Administrator, Bob & June where very dictated to the job.
They attended many TPFC campouts during this time and would spend many hours to
maintain the TPFC roster plus all of the other duties of the administrator. They would travel
many miles to spread the word about the TPFC. They wore out at least one Ford van that I
know of and now driving a Ford one-ton truck. During the past six years as your TPFC
International Director, Bob & June along with others gave me a lots of help along the way.
It is very difficult in one paragraph to express my thanks to Bob & June for the many hours
of volunteerism and dedication that they gave to the Telephone Pioneer Family Campers.
Bob & June, we THANK YOU and appreciate the effort that you have given the TPFC.
WYOMING-2004 PARTY ON THE PRAIRIE is the theme for this years rally on June
13th thru the 18th in Gillette, Wyoming. Howard Jarrell, the International Wagon master and
many others have had some of the tours lined up for a couple of years. Now comes the time
for the TPFC members to go to Gillette and enjoy what the 2004 rally team has been working
on. They have tours scheduled for: Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse Memorial June 14th.
with them, as it really was hot.
Potluck was once again wonderful with all kinds of goodies. Kathy Boeckmann is a
definite asset to the potlucks. Cheesecake at a camp out, oh yeah.
After dishes and clean up then Mike and I got busy with the waffles and ice cream.
They were very good if I must say so. Then the women proceed to play cards. Jan R. and
I were partners and almost won a game but Jan assured me that if we had won it would snow
the next day. I think that is like saying a snow balls chance in hell.
Herman Singletary with Jim Ellis led Sundays’ church service as our choir director.
Kenny was really missed, sorry Jim but Kenny is a hard act to follow.
Well that was about it for the weekend—we had a good time and a nice campground.
The next camp out we will elect a new Wagonmaster for 2006 and a new Treasurer and
Secretary. I would like to give you advance notice that I would like a year or two off from
the Secretarial job. I have been at this since 1993. Folks that is ten years and I am
getting burnt out. Please someone give it a go.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary J. Hardesty, Secretary
Deadwood South Dakota, Gold Dust Casino, Spear Fish Canyon, June 15th. Devils Tower,
June 17th and the Coal Mine tour on the 16th & 18th. If you have Internet access go the
TPFC.NET web site and check out the tours and the information on the Cam-Plex RV
Parks.
Paul Rudeen, many others and myself have been trying to bring the TPFC roster up to
date. Bob & June had said that this was a constant battle and that it would take many hours
of your time. It seems like when people move they just don’t let us know that they have
moved. Then in a year or so they wonder why they are not receiving the “Hello Central.” So
please send us this change of address so that the “Hello Central” can come to your correct
address. We send the “Hello Central” bulk mail, so if we send it to the incorrect address it
will go to the dead letter office.
We are going to try something a little different in the next year or two with the TPFC
members that have a winter address. If you have a winter address and are there until the 30th
of April each year, send us that address. We are going to put some flags in the roster database
so that when we send out the “Hello Central” it will go to your winter address. This way we
will do only one mailing. It will save the TPFC postage. In past years when the “snowbirds”
went back to their summer address we would then send out the “Hello Central” first class.
I would like to THANK the TPFC members that have already sent in their 2004
DONATION to keep the TPFC going. The members that have not yet sent in there donations
for this year, we need your support. The TPFC doesn’t receive any financial support from
outside of our members.
Thank you, Bruce Tracy for being the TPFC.NET web site coordinator and thank
you to the many others that have or have offered to help me on this new assignment.
Signed, Dallas Leier, International Administrator

International Director’s Report
Dallas reported that there were many hits on our website. He would like to see more states on the
website. People can check if they are in the area to see if any club is having a rally. Dallas thanked
Bruce Tracy for being Webmaster. Bob Bonn stated that we need to find a way to arrange payment for
the website. Dallas thinks we should go to the use of a debit card billed to the TPFC. The cost is $7.95
a month. It is $3.00 extra to get a bill so we need to change out method of payment. A letter to be
written to transfer the billing.
REPORTS BY VICE PRESIDENTS

than expected, those that missed it missed a wonderful time.and a great rally.
Don Tracy will report on the results of the Rally during Old Business. There was a campout in
Montreal in August of 2002, hosted by Roger and Colette Desaultels and even though he and Kay
couldn’t attend he had heard from some of those who attended that it was fantastic. The 5th Annual
N.E.A.R. Rally was held in Frontier Town in Ocean City, Maryland, Hosted by the Bell Tel Trampers.
It was a little damp but there was enough dry time to enjoy the sights and all the kids in costume for

The next S.E.A.R. Rally will be hosted by the Florida Sunshine Bells April 16-18, 2004 at Clerbrook
Resort in Clermont, FL. Pre-registration is available from Ron and Sue Wilson from the Florida
Group. On a sad note, Helen South passed away in February, she was the wife of Ron, the 1978
International Wagonmaster, also Archie Fleming passed away in May, he was the Fist International
Wagonmaster in 1972, they gave a lot to the TPFC and were good friends and will be missed.

Regional Rallies.
Administrative Office Report:
Bob Bonn explained that Dallas has taken over as Administrator and he will “keep it going.” Bob
Bonn gave the following Reports, which were in all the Executive Committee Member’s folders.
Please retain these reports as part of the minutes.

Thirteen rigs did not show. He apologized to Bob Mead for omitting him as the Western Region V.P.

Al thanked Fred Herman and Bruce Tracy for setting up the website for the 2003 Rally. The Rally has
not been able to get many vendors because of other Fall Festivals and the economy. Insurance was a
problem–it took 8 month to set up insurance. Through Donna Blade in Denver they paid $500 for a
Two Million Dollar policy.
Report on 2002 Rally:
Don Tracy reported that the Rally was very successful. There were 205 total units, 414 people. They
served 730 dinners and 482 breakfasts. After all the bills were paid, the balance was $7,082.63. The
disbursement of funds included: A Thank You Dinner for the Sunshine Bells, $5,5740 divided among
7 local Telephone Pioneer chapters to be used for “A Book About Me” or related reading aids as
recommended by Gov. Bush, and $287 to pay miscellaneous bills. Don’s Club with help from Sue
Wilson has put together a Rally Booklet with helpful hints for the other clubs that will be planning a
future International Rally.

162 in another campground areas. You will be assigned a site as you sign up and you will be parked
with your club. The tours will be Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, 2 half-day tours to a Coal Mine, and
a tour to Devil’s Tower. The camping cost will be $22 per night. You will be able to come in on
Sunday and leave the following Saturday. The Cam-Plex is 3/4 of a mile from I-90.
Report on the 2005 Rally:
Jim Patterson reported on the Rally for Bob Kent, who was unable to be at the meeting. The Rally will
be in Montgomery, Texas on April 5,6,7, 2005. The three Texas Clubs are looking forward to seeing
you in 2005 in Montgomery, Texas. The resort has been reserved. “Haven’s Landing” is the Cadillac
of RV Resorts in Texas. Paved, curb and guttered streets, paved wide pads, complete with table,
20,30, and 50 amp power at all sites. A 150 by 100 foot oak-floored, air-conditioned grand ballroom,
and enclosed heated pool and other activity facilities are available. Shopping of every kind is near by
for the ladies. Houston, NASA Space Center, Galveston and the Gulf of Mexico are within a reasonable
distance. The Blue Bonnet Bells, Ding-A-Lings and Pioneer Ramblers will be awaiting your arrival
for a great Rally. A display showing the park facilities will be in the building in the registration area
for your viewing. “You All Come Now, You Hear.”

New Business
Election of Officers:
Dallas stated that as of August 7th there were 2 nominations for International Director; Charlie Robinson
and Joe Venuti, and one nomination for Central Region V.P., Jim Patterson. Dallas asked Charlie
Robinson and Joe Venuti to speak at the General Meeting. There will be an election by ballot for
International Director at the General Meeting and Jim Patterson will run unopposed. On a motion by
Jim Patterson, seconded by Howard Jarrell, the two nominations for International Director of Charlie
Robinson and Joe Venuti were accepted. On a motion by Mickey Haydel, seconded by Al Fogel, the
one nomination for Central Region V.P. of Jim Patterson was accepted.
Working Fund:
Working fund will be $10.00 to cover administration fees. Bob Bonn feels we should explain the
working fund to the membership. There was a discussion on how the working fund works. Howard
Jarrell wanted to know why everyone has to pay for the ITPFC on the Working Fund.
Rotation of Vice Presidents:
Jim Persing stated that the Northeast Region Clubs feel that the Vice President rotation should be
changed to a 4-year rotation so it will coincide with the International Rally. That way the Rally will be
held in the same Region in which a new Vice President needs to be elected. Right now it falls out of
synch. A discussion on how to solve this problem followed. Should there be a committee to look into
this problem? Should the Rally area rotation Be WCE, WCE or WCECWECE? Many people come
to the International rally when it is Central because it draws from both coasts. There has been a loss
of clubs in the Northeast, no clubs in upper NY, NH, VT, and MA. Dallas decided the Region Vice
Presidents should look into this and bring their conclusions back to next years’s Committee Meeting.
Changes to the ITPFC Constitution:
Article I, Section 2, gives an official address for the TPFC that no longer exists. Do we need to have
an address in this section? Can we use the current International Administrator’s address? On a notion
by Howard Jarrell, seconded by Jim Patterson, Article I, Section 2 of the TPFC Constitution was
changed to read: the address of the current International Administrator. Article I, Section 3, states that
the area of the TPFC shall be that of the TP. On a motion by Jim Patterson, seconded by Mickey
Haydel, Article I, Section 3 of the TPFC Constitution was changed to read: The territory of Telephone
Family Campers shall be the following boundary lines as established to be applicable to holding the
International Rallies.
Other New Business:
Bob Mead asked if it is OK for guests to attend in International Rally and can they use a registration
form? A guest will be allowed if there is room and has to be accepted by the host club of the International
Rally. A guest has no voting rights and they should use a regular registration form and indicate that
they are a guest of an official member. Don Tracy motioned that the International send a letter to each
Club that suggests that they send a $5 fee for each member as a club annual donation. Jim Patterson
amended the motion that each club contributes a donation to use as a door prize at the International
Rally. A letter may be sent or this request may be stated in the Hello Central. Dallas thanked Bob and
June Bonn for their 20 years of service as Administrators.
A motion to adjourn by Mickey Haydel was seconded by Jim Patterson.
The Meeting was adjourned at 10:00 PM.
Respectfully submitted, Maryann D. Bench, International Secretary, Copper State Bells

FL - Gold Coast Campers
The gold coast campers in South Florida had quite a camping year.
We’re still young and growning with only five members, but still
having fun with our outings. We are still meeting with members
of two other camping clubs which have joined us (or vice versa)
to add a degree of stability to our campouts. We’re closed for the
summer but we’ll start up again in September.

34th T.P.F.C. INTERNATIONAL RALLY - HAVENS LANDING RV RESORT
MONTGOMERY, TEXAS - APRIL, 5,6,7, 2005
Havens Landing is located on Texas State Highway 105 about one
(1) mile East of Montgomery and about seventeen (17) miles West of
Conroe and IH45. It is one of the finest resorts in Texas. All sites are
concrete with 20, 30, 50 amp services, sewer, water and cable, There are
87 pull thru’s and 152
back ins.
Streets
are
curbed and asphalted,
Rental units are available. The 15,600 sq. ft.
Grand ball Room is fantastic. A day room, a
completely equipped
kitchen and separate game room with a 52 inch TV is a short walk from
the Grand ball Room. The heated pool and hot tub are enclosed and
adjacent to the day room. The Resort is near numerous restaurants, three
large malls, Wal-mart and Sams. IH45 south will take you to Spring
(craft), Houston, NASA Space Center, Historic Galveston and the Beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
Montgomery is an Historic Location in Texas History. West on SH105 and North on SH6 will take you to the George Bush Presidential
Library and Museum at College Station and the Texas A&M University, there are plenty of sights to see and things
to do. The Ding-A-Lings, Blue Bonnet Bells, and the Pioneer Ramblers are looking forward to welcoming you
back to Texas
in 2005.
