As you know, our friendly, attentive staff are one of the many things you remember about your
voyage. We caught up with a couple of our guests’ favourite crewmembers to give you an inside
view behind the Azamara uniform.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I am from a small island—about an hour's flight
from Manila, called Samar.

understand that they can’t have certain prohibited
items onboard. It takes a certain kind of diplomacy.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR
BACKGROUND?
I actually wanted to be an engineer. How I
became a security guard—long story. A cousin
approached me and asked if I wanted to do
some security training. I thought why not—and
then worked at the Philippines Airlines for three
years. My then supervisor suggested I should try
and work on the ships. I wanted to explore the
world—as a child it was a dream, but I believe
nothing is impossible and I got my wish. I started
July 18, 2011, on Azamara Quest.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST ONBOARD MEMORY?
When Ross Lee Johnson, our then pianist,
arranged the Guest Choir to sing me a happy
birthday song. It made me cry with happiness.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT

Norway. I love this part of the world because
of the natural beauty. It’s calm, green, and the
