Connecting your internet
Fire up your iQ3 and unlock its full potential by connecting to
the internet. You’ll never look at your TV the same way again.
There are two ways to connect:
1.You can plug an ethernet cable into the
back of your iQ3 and connect it to
your modem/router.
2. Or if your internet connection isn’t located
near your iQ3, you can connect using WiFi.

“Internet Connection” then "WiFi". Find your
network in the list and hit

Take control of what you watch, when you want to watch
it with these nifty time travelling features.
Start Over
Pausing
Missed the start of the show? With Start Over
you can start a show you're watching from
the beginning^* with the touch of a button.
The icon will appear next to shows that are
available to Start Over in the TV Guide or look
out for the icon at the bottom of the screen.
Simply press to on your remote to start.

The pause function lets you call the shots.
Any little interruption to your viewing is no
problem – just hit and itʼll stay ready
and waiting for you (for up to 60 minutes)
to press play.
Look Back in the TV Guide
Look Back up to 24 hours^ in the TV guide
to watch or record a selection of shows
you’ve missed. Shows are available to
watch within 15 minutes of finishing.
Just scroll to the left in the TV Guide.

Rewind and Fast Forward
With your iQ3 as your trusty sidekick,
not only can you pause and rewind live TV,
but whenever you’re watching something
you’ve recorded or paused you can fast
forward too. When watching a recorded
program, hit until you reach the preferred
fast-forward speed (iQ3 gives you speeds
of up to x60). You can do the same when
rewinding too.
TOP TIP
Look out for the icon on your screen.
When you see it, that means the show
is available to watch from the start*^,
so you don't have to miss the beginning.

what's coming up, without leaving your
current show. Just hit i while watching a
show to bring up the information banner.
Your iQ3 makes it simple to find out about
the episode or series youʼre watching, as
well as more info like the cast, characters
and shows You May Also Like^. To see the
synopsis for a program you are watching
hit i then i again.
Trending^
Easily find out which Foxtel shows are
popular right now, and what other people
are watching.
Channel Picks^
Have a favourite channel? Go straight
to a channel page to find out what shows
are coming up. You can also find some
helpful videos with tips and tricks on
getting the most out of your Foxtel.
You can scan forwards and backwards#
in time using the < and > buttons on your
remote, and see what's on other channels
using and .

Recording
With your iQ3, the power is in your hands. Record up to
three shows at once while you're watching a fourth live,
so you don’t miss out.
Recording
Recording clashes
Just highlight the show you want from
home
.
or the TV Guide and press
It’ll automatically be scheduled to record
in your Library. Once the show has started
recording it will move from the Scheduled
tab, to the Recorded tab.
If you get carried away, your iQ3 will even
help resolve any recording conflicts by giving
you the option of which ones to remove from
the schedule.
Recording space
With three times the recording space of iQHD,
your iQ3 gives you oodles of room to manage
up to 345 recorded shows.^

Recording a whole season with
Series Link
When you record a show from the TV Guide,
if Series Link is available you'll be prompted
to record the series or just the episode.
Alternatively, you can find an upcoming
episode in the Scheduled tab of your Library.
If it has a Series Link icon at the bottom of the
screen, then just hit .
Watch your recordings
This one’s easy. Just press library ,
find and highlight the show
in your Recorded tab, and hit
.
Record me
Sometimes you’ll see a
icon flash
up during a trailer for a show. If you think you’ll
like it, just hit and it’ll book it to record to
your Library. If Series Link is available with
the show, it’ll record all future episodes to
your Library too.
Recording away from home
If you’re not near your remote but need to
record or Series Link something to your iQ3,
just download the Foxtel Guide App~, log in
with your Foxtel ID and you’ll be ready to go.

Delete your recordings
Just find the show in your
highlight it and press .
library

Keep your recordings safe
Highlight the show in the library , press
and you’ll see a ‘K’ for ‘keep’ pop up.
This will prevent you from accidentally
deleting the recording.

Troubleshooting and support
Experiencing technical difficulties? Before trying anything else,
try resetting your box. You can do this by pressing the standby
button on the front right of your iQ3 for about five seconds.
Let go and the box will reset.
What’s happened?
Try this
I’m receiving a No Signal/No Satellite signal
message
Ensure the signal cables from your iQ3 to the
wallplate are secure and connected to the
“input” outlet on your iQ3.
My iQ3 says it’s not connected to the internet
Double check your internet is working and your
iQ3 is connected with a lead to your internet or is
connected via WiFi (see page 7 for instructions).
We recommend a minimum speed of 3mbps to
get the best experience. You can check your
speed by going to Settings, then Internet
Connection and Speed Test.
My remote control won’t work
It might sound obvious but check the batteries
in your remote aren’t dead. Your iQ3 remote can
only work with one iQ3 and needs to be paired
with it. For pairing instructions see page 31.
I can’t see free-to-air channels anymore
The free-to-air channels you can receive are
dependent on the box type you have. To find out
more about the box types and free-to-air access
visit foxtel.com.au/FTA
Still meeting resistance?
It might sound obvious, but:
• Check the power lead is in the power point,
the lead is plugged to the power pack and
the power point is turned on.
• Double check the wall plate is secure and the
cable running to your iQ3 is fixed in place.
•T
urn off the power at the wall for around
a minute then try again.
•C
heck the HDMI cable running from the
iQ3 to the TV is secure.

Your Foxtel iQ3 meets Australian and
international electrical and safety standards.
So, to keep it that way:
There are lots of options for how you like
to view, just go to Settings and follow the
prompts to:
• Make sure all electrical connections are
kept safe (from zombies and other hazards).
•P
ut viewing restrictions on your TV with
Parental Control (your default PIN is 1234).
• Don’t try to take it apart! Our techies are
trained to fix any problems with your iQ3,
so leave it to them.
•C
ustomise your experience with TV
Guide settings.
• Always disconnect the iQ3 before
removing any other equipment from
its rear panel.

nd create My Favourites – select up to
20 channels as a personal TV guide.
