Date: Sept 21-Oct 15
Shani Rhys James depicts
the female figure–frequently
herself–as part of a continuing exploration on the role of
women in domestic spaces.
An accomplished painter,
she has been the recipient of
numerous prizes and awards,
including a National Portrait
Award. She lives and works
in Wales.
Date: Nov 19-22
A forum for the presentation
and discussion of ideas,
issues, information, and
research approaches used
within the historical
investigation of art education.
Date to be announced.
The presidents of five of the
most renowned art schools
in the world will come
together at Teachers
College to consider the most
pressing issues confronting
the education of the artist in
today’s world.
Conversations Across
Cultures: Why talk
about gender?

A conversation on feminism
and gender issues within
contemporary art education
and the larger art world.
