UPS and Diesel Generators
Diesel generating sets are used as emergency power-supply if
the grid fails, as well as for more complex applications such as
peak-lopping. UPS differs from an auxiliary or emergency
power system or standby generator in that it will provide nearinstantaneous protection from input power interruptions, by
supplying energy stored in batteries, supercapacitors, or
flywheels.
