Onkyo offers the latest update to its well-received line of RI (Remote Interactive) Docks for the iPod, adding full compatibility
with iPhone. The DS-A4 links seamlessly with your home entertainment system to get the best out of your iPod/iPhone’s music,
movies, podcasts, and TV shows. Video signals are conveyed via either composite or higher-quality component video output.
RI compatibility lets you control basic iPod/iPhone functions through your main Onkyo system’s remote controller,
with further functionality provided by the dedicated remote. Device-recharging and an on-screen display are among the other

Linked to your Onkyo system, the DS-A4 allows you to
seamlessly incorporate audio and video files from virtually
all iPhone and iPod models*. Now you can enjoy playing
your music through a high-fidelity Onkyo system, and share
your photos and videos on your living-room display.
There’s no need to handle your iPod/iPhone while it’s
sitting in the DS-A4, as it comes with its own remote
controller that controls all basic playback functions. With its
simple layout and easy operability, this palm-fitting remote
controller is especially handy for navigating and selecting
your music via the OSD.

iPod/iPhone Video Playback via Component Video
By connecting a compatible iPod/iPhone model to the
DS-A4, you can view movies, music videos, TV shows, and
video podcasts on a connected display. Component video
connectivity ensures a stable, high-quality video signal
output. The DS-A4 supports 480i and 576i output from the
iPhone and iPod touch, and 480p and 576p from the iPod
nano (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generations) and iPod classic.
Recharge Your iPod/iPhone While Enjoying Your
Music and Video
Connect the DS-A4 to an AC power source, place your
iPod/iPhone in the cradle, and you can play back audio
and video files all day long. While you’re enjoying your
device’s music and video in the comfort of your living
room, you’re also fully recharging the battery for when
you’re on the move.
On-Screen Display for Easier Navigation and
Selection of Audio and Video Content
Added Functionality and Integration Through the
RI (Remote Interactive) Function
The DS-A4 comes with an on-screen display (OSD) mode
that enables you to easily navigate and select video and
audio content viewed on a connected display. In OSD
mode, you can browse your iPod/iPhone content using the
dedicated remote controller.
The DS-A4 can also be connected through Onkyo’s
proprietary RI interface. This gives you access to a variety of
useful functions, such as System On/Off, Auto Power On,
Auto Selector (Direct Change), and Sleep Timer.
