It’s a great place to relax, play games, watch TV or hang with your friends. The Center offers a limited snack bar, which serves gourmet coffees, espressos, lattes, smoothies and snack food. We have a comfortable living room area with a big-screen TV, computers, and Wi-Fi access. Plus, there’s a mini theater, pool tables, Xboxes, PlayStations, darts, ping pong, and a paperback book exchange. Ask the desk for information on current and upcoming community events. Individual Augmentee Support - Support services are provided to family members of individual augmentees. Ombudsman Support - Training and support is provided to the ombudsman who serves as a liaison between families and commands. Volunteer Program - Opportunities • to develop skills and enhance resumes are available as well as chances to network towards the next employment opportunity. Emergency Preparedness Information is provided to assist families in planning for local and national disasters: It’s never too early to be prepared – but sometimes it’s too late. CLINICAL • Individual & Family Counseling Services address concerns related to adjustment and life problems. • Parenting Classes - Skilled clinicians provide recent and evidenced-based information to support every family in parenting their children in today’s difficult world. 5 NAS FALLON • OCT/NOV/DEC 2016 • Domestic Violence Advocacy & Prevention - Services assist victims and also support awareness and prevention efforts. Monthly classes are offered to strengthen families. The Family Advocacy Program offers options for restricted and unrestricted reports and treatment for victims and offenders. Sexual Assault Advocacy & Prevention - The Navy’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program is designed to meet the needs of the victims and to provide accessible preventative measures. The SAPR program provides a wide variety of instruction to Sailors and Civilians. Trainings include: 40-Hours Initial Victim Advocate, Victim Advocate Refreshers, 8-Hours Initial Point of Contact, Commander’s Toolkits, Resident Advisors, Indoctrination, General Military Training (GMT), First Responders, Bystander Intervention and SAPR Civilian Trainings. SAPR services are available whether the assault transpired days, weeks, months or even years prior to reporting. Child & Youth Programs Bldg 1001 • Main office: 775-426-3808 Mon-Fri 6 am-6 pm. There are two types of reporting options, Restricted and Unrestricted, with services provided by trained credentialed professionals. YOUTH ACTIVITIES CENTER Bldg 1003 • 775-426-3777 Mon-Fri 6 am-6 pm Closed weekends, federal holidays and any days designated by executive order. School-Age Care Programs provide quality before and after-school programs and camps during winter, spring and summer break for children ages 6-12 years. Boys and Girls Club affiliated programs are offered as well as the Navy’s Fit Factor program. CYP Programs are certified by the DoD and are nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Afterschool Association. Our CYP program is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of America and is partnered with National 4-H. Visit www.MilitaryChildCare.com and click on Child and Youth Programs to register. Youth and Teen Programs offer developmental recreation and provide a safe place to learn and grow — all while having fun. Field trips to Reno for shopping and recreation are also included in our program. Computers are available daily for research, homework or to e-mail Mom and Dad. “Give Parents a Break” Extended Care Hours CYP is open for extended hours every other Thursday until 8 pm and Friday until 11 pm so parents can get the break they deserve. Children must be eligible for CYP enrollment in order to receive Extended Hours Respite Care. This program is not a substitute for regularly scheduled child care. Cost is $5/hour per child without pre-approved referral. School Liaison Officer CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER (CDC) provides quality child development programs for children 6 weeks-5 years. Part-Time Enrichment Program for children 3 years-Pre-K, Mon-Fri 7:30-11:30 am. Drop-in program for respite care for ages 6 weeks-5 years. CHILD DEVELOPMENT HOMES Located throughout base housing, 775-423-0220 Child Development Homes offer quality care in a loving, learning environment for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years. Our homes are conveniently located in base housing. All gear and/or equipment is rented on a first-come/first-serve basis with the exception of big ticket items like boats, trailers, log splitters, etc. For big ticket items, military and retirees may reserve up to 45 days in advance. Contractors and DoD employees may reserve up to 30 days in advance. Going fishing, boating, mountain biking or skiing? How about having a big backyard BBQ for all your friends? Call for appointment. Closed weekends and holidays. MWR Auto Hobby offers a range of services for “do-it yourself” types, as well as advice and assistance related to your various automotive needs. An on-site mechanic is available, by appointment, for assistance. We have four bays with three lifts, tire repair and balancing, and brake repair tools. Other equipment is also available for customers to use for minor or major repairs. Liberty Program Bldg 308 • 775-426-2836 The Single Sailor program includes activities nearly every day of the month, including 8-Ball and Texas Hold’em tournaments, chess, spades, video gaming and arm wrestling. The program also features monthly events including trips to local attractions, out-of-town movie and dinner trips, Rock-N-Bowl, skate night, go-karts and birthday celebrations. Come have fun with our new life-sized games including Angry Birds, Checkers, Connect Four and Twister.
