Godrej introduces India’s first safe for car called MOTORMATE
Snapshot: The secure and portable safe has been priced in India at Rs 2,499.

any a times, when a car is left unattended for a prolonged time at public places, you might come back to broken window or cracked hinges to
realise your precious iPad or smartphone is missing. Godrej Security Solutions (GSS) has come up with a device to tackle such unpleasant
situations. Making its foray into the automotive sector, GSS has presented the first-of-its-kind safe for cars called MOTORMATE that will retail
in the market at Rs 2,499. The secure and portable safe can be kept anywhere in the car and can be used to store small electronic devices,
cash, credit/debit cards, wallet, keys, etc.
The MOTORMATE car safe features a multi strand, braided steel that makes it easy and safe to attach to various reinforcements in the car. The safe
features a soft case along the inside wall to keep the valuables secured inside away from scratches and abrasions. The safe also boasts of a feature
that lets a wire to pass through, allowing you to charge your mobile, camera and other electronic gadgets.
Mr Mehernosh Pithawalla, head of marketing, Godrej Security Solutions said, “At GSS, we have always believed in foreseeing and anticipating
consumers’ needs and requirements. It is natural for car owners to leave their cars unmanned on the road or at parking lots at malls, offices, other public
places. Thieves today target car owners who leave valuables like cash, wallets, GPS systems, debit/credit cards behind in the car’s glove-box. The
glove-box is usually flimsy and can be broken with simple instruments. This situation gets car owners concerned about the security of their valuables
when they are on the move. To address this anxiety and counter unauthorized access, after extensive consumer insights, Godrej Security Solutions
launched MOTORMATE - a reliable way to protect valuables inside a car in the absence of its owner. We felt this was the right time to launch
MOTORMATE in India as there is a potential market for the same.”
The MOTORMATE safe is being offered on sale across company operated stores and car accessories shops in all major cities such as Mumbai, Pune,
Kolkatta, Chennai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Hyderabad to name a few. Furthermore, the safe can also be ordered online via retail portals such

The Godrej Motormate is a portable safe that can

India’s first car safe ‘Motormate’ from Godrej

Godrej Security Solutions (GSS), an Indian company providing comprehensive security solution, has unveiled
Motormate, a security product for car owners. With the increase in the number of car thefts in India, a product like
acar safe is the perfect option to secure valuables. It is designed to protect valuables such as cash, wallets,
mobiles phones, debit / credit cards etc. on the go.
The safe, that is easy to secure and portable and can be hidden anywhere in the car making it a functional
accessory that safe keeps your valuables in the car, according to a company release.
Motormate is priced at Rs 2,499 and is ideal for use in cars, SUVs, trucks, caravans etc. It comes with an array of
user friendly features which makes it an absolute necessity for any car owner to have. Motormate is available in

Thank you GTO for the information on this nice product from Godrej.
Pretty helpful while on long highway trips and in places where parking is a scarcity near the work place so having
valuable items inside the car will not let us go around in peace. Such solutions can give some relief to safety.

Nice to see such innovations in order to increase safety for personal belongings with the ever present threat of theft.
This should help people conceal and protect their gear while on long highway trips.

Honestly, I don't see much utility in this. Going by the first photograph, the internal dimensions of the safe shouldn't be
more than 6" x 4" x 2" - and I can't think of anything that size which I'd rather not carry on my person but hide in a car
safe. Things such as my wallet or credit cards, or even a small P&S camera. Maybe a bundle of 1000-rupee notes? Or
a few gold biscuits? Naah, if I had them on me, I wouldn't leave that in the car, even inside a safe like this!
As far as the securing system (a braided steel cable) is concerned, someone who breaks into my car would also be
equipped with a small bolt cutter that can take care of such a cable. Even the lock does not inspire confidence.

A biometric version will be more helpful.
Soft tops can derive the maximum benefit.
Cant say much if they drive away with the car as it will be assumed that the safe is holding something valuable.
.
Having said this, I might end up buying one.
