1.4- KARATE –SPECIFIC “COMP-DEV” NCCP TRAINING COURSE FOR COACHES
With Mr. GÉRARD LAUZIÈRE,
Senior Coaching Consultant, High Performance at the Coaching Association of
Canada, and Chair of Karate Canada’s NCCP Committee.
NCCP SPORT-SPECIFIC MODULE
Karate Canada is proud to offer a very important sport / karate-specific
module, which is required of all coaches seeking training and certification at
the Competition Development (Comp Dev) level, within the National Coaching
Certification Program. This level of coaching education and certification is
particularly relevant to coaches working with athletes who compete on the
provincial and national scene, and is currently the highest sport-specific NCCP
coaching certification offered by Karate Canada.
We wish to remind all members that being considered “in training”
at the Comp Dev level (or “trained” at the Comp Intro level) will
be a mandatory pre-requisite for any and all coaches acting as
Provincial / Territorial Team Coaches at the upcoming Karate Canada
National Championships, as of 2017 (see Karate Canada’s “National
Championships NCCP Policy”). This therefore constitutes a great
opportunity for all to further their coaching education and to
progress towards Comp Dev certification.
Here is the (karate-specific) module being offered at the 2016 Summit:
Karate Canada wishes
to thank the Coaching
Association of Canada
and Investors Group
for their financial
support in delivering
