The Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, established in 1978, was designed to depict a turn of the century farm. This beautiful and diverse park provides a fun, safe and educational farm environment that cultivates an appreciation of farm life, wildlife and Kansas Heritage. Vic’s General Store Step back in time to experience a place where farmers came from miles around to purchase supplies. Alex & Emily’s Ice Cream Parlor Scheduled Hours Monday – Sunday | 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides $3 per person | Under 1 year free Enjoy the view of local wildlife on a relaxing hayride through the woods. Rides end at 3:00 pm Monday – Friday 4:00 pm Saturday – Sunday Pony Rides $3 per child | Must be 3 to ride Grandpa Bob’s Fishing Pond Ben’s Bank Hop on one of our ponies and take a ride around the figure 8 track. Outfitted with an authentic turn of the century back bar and featuring hand-dipped ice cream. Get your Discovery Passbook to learn more about the farm and document your adventures. Dairy Barn Visit the calves and watch daily milking demonstrations. Kansas Indian Encampment See an earthen lodge filled with artifacts and furs. Nature Trail Be sure to visit the Butterfly Garden, Chime Garden and Repose Area. Helen’s Country Schoolhouse A re-creation of a 1900s one-room schoolhouse. Master Gardeners Enjoy the beauty of an area that is planted and kept by the Master Gardeners of Johnson County. Prairie Playground & Pedal Tractors See the log cabin, fort, sand pit, swings and all the slides. Or go take a ride around the track. New Entrance — Display cases full of artifacts highlight our Kansas history Birthday Parties Monday – Thursday $100 | Friday – Sunday $150 Reservations required. Cost includes up to 40 admissions. Friday – Sunday. Additional guests are $2 each. Age 1 and under free. The Farmstead offers a birthday package that includes: • A reserved party corral for 2 ½ hours. Choose from 10 different corrals available. • A souvenir T-shirt and cowpoke hat. • 20 activity tickets to be redeemed at wagon rides, pony rides, fishing and/or mining. Available times are posted on the city’s Web site, www.opkansas.org. Reserve your party online and save the $5 permit fee. To make your reservation over the phone with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card, call 913.895.6390. $3 per rental Relax by the pond with a cane pole in hand. Includes pole & worms. No outside poles allowed. Mining $5 regular bag | $7.50 large bag Fill your sifter and search for hidden treasures. Goat Bottle Feeding $1 per bottle Be sure to purchase a bottle to feed these little guys. Their antics are sure to bring a smile to all who see them. Combo Packs Farm Tours Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Reservations required. $5 per person. Includes a guided tour, a wagon ride and feed for the goats. History Tours Monday – Thursday, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Reservations required. $5 per person The tour includes three 45-minute learning centers: • The Kanza Indian Encampment Save $5 Purchase a combo pack for $10.
