TRIP PROPOSAL Dear Sir, Kindly, find below the program of the visit, as follows: 7 nights/8 days WELCOME!!! to Bosnia and Herzegovina the heart shaped land that lies in the heart of southeast Europe. It is here where eastern and western civilizations met, sometimes clashed, but more often enriched and reinforced each other throughout its long and fascinating history. DAY 1. Sarajevo Accommodation in the hotel upon arrival. After some rest at the hotel we will have an organized city tour trough Sarajevo. Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the biggest urban, cultural, economical center of B&H. It is known as the „European Jerusalem“, because of the fact that in a radius of 200 m, you can find a muslim mosque, rimocatholic Cathedral, an Ortodox church and a Jewish sinagogue. We will be happy to take you trough the city and show you some of the most important historical sites and monuments: The Library, the City fountain, Baščaršija, the crafts streets, The Cathedral, Old Jewish temple, Gazi Husref-beys mosque, hammam, library, medresa, The clock tower, The National theatre, National museum, The assasination place, The Emperors mosque etc. Free time for individual activities. Overnight. DAY 2. Konjic-Blagaj-Pocitelj-Mostar Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast departure to Konjic. Konjic is a mountainous, heavily wooded area. It is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Bosnia, dating back almost 4000 years. You will have the chance to see the old part of the city, incorporated into the Ottoman Empire, of which the lasting feature for the town apart from the many mosques is the Ottoman inspired bridge. We will take you also to a wood crafting shop, where you will be able to see the traditional bosnian designs of furniture, souvenirs, bosnian rooms and traditional wood crafting techniques. This excursion will also take us to Buna springs (Blagaj) – the strongest spring in Europe that takes out more then 45 000 liters per second. Buna spring is the home to the most famous dervish convict (tekke) in the Balkans. You will have the chance to visit Pocitelj, an old pass keeper on the banks of emerald Neretva river. Later on we will visit the city of Mostar, the largest and the most important city in the Herzegovina region. It's situated on Neretva river and is the fifth largest city in the country. Mostar was named after the bridge keepers (natively: mostari) who have guarded the Old Bridge during medieval times. The Old Bridge is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and under the protection of UNESCO. You will also have the opportunity to see the Koski Mehmed-pasha's mosque, Tabacica mosque, the Old Bridge and the old turkish quarter. Departure to Sarajevo. On the way, we will stop for a short break in Jablanica, where you will be able to see the local, traditional way of making the lamb on the spit. Departure to Sarajevo. Arrival at the hotel in the evening. Overnight. DAY 3. Travnik - Jajce Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast departure to Travnik. Travnik is a city in central B&H, famous for being the capital city of the governors of Bosnia from 1697 to 1850 and having a cultural heritage dating from that period. Trough the city tour you will be able to see the Suleimania Mosque, the Travnik Castle, Blue water, the Old town etc. After Travnik we will depart to Jajce. Jajce was first built in the 14th century and served as the capital of the independant Bosnian kingdom during its time. Eventually, in 1527, Jajce became the last Bosnian town to fall to Ottoman rule. There are several mosques and churches built in different times during different rules, making Jajce a diverse town in this aspect. You will also be able to see the beautiful Jajce waterfalls. The tour will take you to the catacombs a unique, monumental building in Europe. It is located within the medieval walls, built in the late 14th and early 15th century. There will be a possibility to have a boat ride on Pliva river for about 45 min. to an hour. We will also take you to Mlinice, the watermills on Pliva river, a breathtaking place, ideal to make some photos for memory. Free time for individual activities. Departure to Sarajevo. Arrival in the early evening. Overnight. DAY 4. Sarajevo-Skoplje Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast departure to Skoplje, the capital of Macedonia. Accommodation at the hotel. Free time for individual activities. Overnight in Skoplje. DAY 5. Skoplje - Tetovo Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfas departure to Tetovo. Tetovo is a town tucked into the northwestern corner of Western Macedonia, in the shadow of Sar mountain. During the Tetovo sightseeing you will be able to see the Colorfoul mosque (The Alaca mosque), Arabati Baba Teke, Tetovo Kale Bal Tepe Fortress, Turkish hammam, St. Cyril and Methodius church. After Tetovo departure to National park Mavrovo. Mavrovo is 73 hectares big and is the largest national park in the country. Break. Later on you will visit the birth house of Kemal Ataturk which is now a museum in the village of Kodjadjik. Departure to Ohrid. Optinal lunch in Ohrid. Free time for individual activities. Overnight. DAY 6. Ohrid – Bitola - Skoplje Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast Ohrid sightseeing. Ohrid is a large town in southwestern Macedonia on the shore of Lake Ohrid. A town of vast history and heritage, it was made a UNESCO heritage site in 1980. Nestled between high mountains up to 2,800 m and Lake Ohrid, it is not only a place of historic significance but also of outstanding natural beauty. Ohrid is the jewel in Macedonia's crown. Aside from the lake, Ohrid is most famous for its ancient churches, basilicas, and monasteries where Saints Kliment and Naum with the help of the Bulgarian king Boris I (students of Cyril and Methodus) wrote their teachings and formulated the Cyrillic alphabet used in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as neighboring countries Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro and as far as Russia, and many of the countries of the former Soviet Union. Some of the sights you can see are: St. Sophia church, St. Bogorodica Perivlepta, St. John Kaneo church, St. Pantelejmon-Plaoshnik, Old Bazaar, Mesokastro settlement, Kaneo settlement, theatre, King Samoil fortress etc. After sightseeing departure to Bitola. Bitola is a grand old town that still bears the marks of its turn-of-the-century importance as a center for diplomacy – while also exemplifying the country’s time-honored cafe culture. Bitola is nicknamed “city of consuls” and is the second largest city in the Republic of Macedonia. Near the border with Greece, it straddles the Dragor River at the foot of Mount Pelister, in the Baba mountain range. During the visit you can see the Old bazaar, Deboj amam, bezisten, Jeni mosque, Isak bey mosque, Clock tower, The Ajdar kadi mosque, Shirok sokak street, The Consulates, St. Dimitrie church, Heraklea etc. After visiting Bitola departure to Skoplje. Arrival in the early evening, accommodation at the hotel. Free time for individual activities. Overnight. DAY 7. Skoplje Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast Skoplje sightseeing. You will be able to see the statue of Alexander the Great, Kale fortress, The Stone bridge, Porta Macedonia, Macedonia square, Parliament building, Feudal tower, double hammam, Bedesten, Clock tower, Bey's tower, Daut pasha hammam, Kapan han, Kurshumli han, St. Bogorodica church, St. Kliment of Ohrid cathedral, St. Saviour church, Mother Teresa house, Mustafa pasha mosque, Sultan Murat mosque, Ishak bey mosque, Jahja pasha mosque etc. After sightseeing some free time to relax and drink a coffee. Departure to Matka canyon. It features a lake and a hydrodam. Locals go there in the summer to swim in the river and picnic. Starting from the hydrodam, there is a 6km long walking trail along the canyon that leads you to another dam.
