CAMPBELL & The King Bees 2:00 pm www.myspace.com/eddieccampbell www.myspace.com/thekingbeesblues G Guitarist Eddie Campbell hails from Duncan, Miss., but moved to Chicago when he was 10. He soon jammed with Muddy Waters and learned from Muddy, Magic Sam and Otis Rush before playing with Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Little Johnny Taylor, Jimmy Reed, and Willie Dixon’s Chicago Blues All-Stars. In 1984 Eddie left Chicago for Europe, where he worked for a decade before returning to Chi’town in the 1990s. His 2009 album, Tear This World Up, was nominated for Album of the Year by the the Blues Foundation. For the AMC, Eddie is backed by The King Bees, the N.C. mountainsbased trio that has played with a virtual Who’sWho of touring blues acts. The Bees feature vocalist/bassist Penny Zamagni and guitarist Rob Baskerville, who have been bluesing it up for more than 20 years. BUDDY WHITTINGTON & the Randy McAllister Band www.buddywhittington.com www.randymcallister.com A lifelong Texan, Buddy Whittington replaced Coco Montoya to spend 15 years on the road with John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers – ’nuff said. He cut his first solo album in 2007 and is now iin demand throughout Europe and the U.S. Backing Buddy is singing drummer/harmonicist Randy McAllister and his band, one of the most under-promoted (and hence, under-appreciated) blues groups in all of America. 3:45 Booking & organization: Gary Erwin, POB 13525, Charleston, SC 29422 • 843-762-9125 • [email protected] This is the office that also produces the annual Lowcountry Blues Bash, 10 days in February in Charleston, SC. – www.bluesbash.com Biscuit Miller & The Mix www.biscuitmiller.com 5:00 Blistering, joyous, funky, soul/ blues/goodtimes music will have you on your feet! Biscuit & The Mix were a highlight of this year’s Lowcountry Blues Bash. Dave Miller got his nickname from his Grandma after he downed a whole pan of her oven-hot biscuits. He was raised by her in Chicago’s Southside blues mecca, where he saw a bass gathering dust at a friend’s house and literally picked it up at the age of 11. He gigged first with Sonny Rogers, then Mojo Buford, Ike and Tina Turner, then spent 10 defining years with Lonnie Brooks. Biscuit formed The Mix in 2000 to fill occasional down time, and later joined guitar heavyweight Anthony Gomes for five years. Now based in Indianapolis, Biscuit & The Mix are a full-time draw that serves up a souful, blues-funk stew – always with a piping hot Buiscuit. Concessions available at reasonable prices.
