CERATIZIT carbide has got a new name Merger of CERAMETAL and PLANSEE TIZIT On November, 29 2002, the executive board of the Plansee Group, Reutte/Austria, and the shareholders of Cerametal, Mamer/Luxembourg signed an agreement for the merger of their carbide activities. CERATIZIT resulting from the merger of Cerametal and Plansee Tizit will be headquartered in Luxembourg. With a turnover of approx. 400 million EUR and a total staff of 3,500, it will be one of the leading manufacturers of carbide products worldwide. The Plansee Group and the Luxembourg based owners of Cerametal will each hold a 50 % equity share in CERATIZIT. The declared objective of the merged carbide manufacturer is to establish CERATIZIT as the most competitive carbide brand worldwide.
