Master Jazz Performer Classes
In a tribute to Charlie Byrd, acoustic Guitar Music like you've never heard before!
Frank Vignola is one of the most extraordinary guitarists performing before the public
today. His stunning virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the
world's top musicians, including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Wynton
Marsalis, Tommy Emmanuel, Mark O Connor, the Boston Pops, the New York Pops,
and guitar legend Les Paul, who named Vignola to his "Five Most Admired Guitarists
List" for the Wall Street Journal. Vignola's jaw-dropping technique explains why the
New York Times deemed him "one of the brightest...stars of the guitar".
Takoma Park resident Chuck Redd is featured on over 70 recordings. He can also be
heard on the sound track to the PBS television series, "The Great Chefs", and the NPR
broadcast "Jazz Smithsonian." In addition to leading his own groups, Chuck was a
member of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra for 15 years. He headlines
nationally at festivals and clubs. Chuck is on the faculty at The University of Maryland
School of Music and presents master classes, workshops and lectures around the
country. The Charlie Byrd Tribute is completed by master bassist James King. Mr.
King is the first call to accompany many top jazz artists when they visit the D. C. area.
The Afro Bop Alliance, from Annapolis, is an exciting Latin Jazz septet with a big
band sound. Its influences include Cuban, Caribbean and African blending with each
musician’s jazz style to produce their own band sound
The band won he Latin Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Recording in 2009 for their CD
“Caribbean Jazz Project:” featuring Dave Samuels. The band plays at many venues
throughout the Washington DC area.

to jazz. Bruce Krohmer, our producer, is a member. Trio Blue plays a mix of
vintage, jazzy blues. They cover the songs of Louis Jordan, early Ray
Charles, Percy Mayfield and many more. Dara Tucker infuses her original vocal
songs with her gospel roots free spirit and jazz’ subtlety, while paying homage to
American Folk music. Her style might be described as Urban Singer-Songwriter. With
subtly soulful undertones, she seeks to convey her pensive, searching, but alwayshopeful outlook on life through her music. Dara has been part of the Nashville jazz
scene for the last 5 years
