Individuals 13 and older are welcome to join the Parkfun volunteer program. Volunteer Opportunities at-a-Glance: Welcome to Parkfun Volunteers! On behalf of the Schaumburg Park District Board of Commissioners and staff, welcome to Parkfun Volunteers! Volunteers provide immeasurable amounts of time and energy which enrich the District’s programs and events. Volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, adding depth and dimension to special events, programs and conservation projects. Share your time while making new friends, learning new skills and having fun! The Schaumburg Park District is a three-time national Gold Medal award recipient recognized for its innovation and service. By joining the Parkfun volunteer program, you become one of the dedicated people who contribute to the continued quality of life and service in the community. As a volunteer, you will earn Parkfun Points and be invited to an annual appreciation reception. Let’s Get Started! •Mail or drop-off a completed Volunteer Application to any Schaumburg Park District facility, or complete an online application at www.parkfun.com (Click the red volunteer button on the home page). •Upon receipt of your application, the Schaumburg Park District will send you a volunteer interest form and a criminal background check consent form. •Please complete and return the volunteer interest and criminal background forms to any Schaumburg Park District facility. •Once forms are processed, you are ready to Volunteer! •You will receive a Parkfun volunteer nametag to wear during events and programs at which you volunteer. •You will be contacted with final details two weeks prior to the event/program you selected on your volunteer interest form. •At the event/program, sign-in with the event supervisor and sign-out before you leave. •Enjoy the activity with the participants and stay through clean-up. •There will be additional Parkfun perks for your continued support. •Special Events •Holiday Decorating •Athletic Events •Cultural Arts Events •Pre-school Programs •Spring Valley Activities/ Events •Junior Summer Leadership Program We appreciate all our Volunteers!
