Camp Broadway® is a week-long day
camp for theatre-loving kids ages 1017. Activities take place MondayFriday from 9:00a to 5:00p, and

JLM is different from other camp programs because we are ALL HORSES,
ALL DAY! We offer a hands-on, interactive approach to learning horsemanship that keeps kids active and
engaged. Beginners are welcome!
Session groups are split by ability
level, and are taught by experienced,
licensed instructors. All sessions
include a daily mounted riding lesson.
Camps run all summer and during
school vacation weeks in February
and April.
Specialty weeks provide students
variety throughout the summer, and
allow riders to choose the focus of
their weeks at the barn. Our Saddle
Up program is available for children
new to riding or who want a broadbased experience at camp. Riders who
have been to camp before, or who
have some riding experience, can
expand their knowledge in their personal areas of interest. Experienced
and competitive riders will appreciate
our more advanced Horse Show,

The Friends Academy Summer
Programs offer a wide variety of
camps for children in grades pre K
through grade 9. Sports ranging from
soccer, basketball, field hockey, martial arts, flag football, and fencing are

from the college level, or both. What's

group themed weeks for children

Friends, an offering for our youngest

popular camp is Historical Doll camp,

time period of American History, with
stories, crafts, food, games, and of
course your favorite doll from the
period. We offer Adventure and
Survival Friends for grades 4-7, where
students learn and practice various
outdoor skills ranging from primitive
fire building and how to make traps
and snares, to canoeing, map and
compass use, and outdoor cooking.
Campers will also get to spend time
on our twenty-one station ropes and
challenge course. Guitar, drumming,
drama, jewelry making, woodworking,
and graphic novels are only some of
our creative camps. We have nine different computer programming offerings ranging from mobile app development and video game development
to digital music and 3D computer
modeling. Everything is rounded out
by our array of academic programs.
These include a six week Orton
Gillingham program, a six week
“Summer Math Review” and a six
week Framing Your Thoughts program. Other academic camps include
Hands on Math, a Creative Writing
Workshop, and Lego Robotics.

Newport Children's Theatre's summer
Broadway camp will produce the
Broadway musical, Beauty and the
Beast! Our musical day camp will be
taught by professionals directly from
the Broadway stage. Campers will
spend their day playing theatre

Cybersecurity — Taught by RWU
faculty and industry experts, our
Cybersecurity Summer Academy
introduces students to the fundamentals of the Linux operating system,
penetration tools and security.
Highlights of the program include:
cryptology, password cracking, email
encryption, solving digital forensic

setting up and configuring a firewall
and learning about ethical issues surrounding security and hacking. At the
end of the Cybersecurity program,
students will defend their network
against cyber attacks in an academywide cyber defense competition. The

Forensic science — This weeklong Forensic Science Summer
Academy focuses on science as the

organizations. Highlights of the program include: lectures from various
law enforcement and state agencies,
processing DNA evidence, fingerprinting, arson and explosives, ballistics

This summer program is for RI middle school students. This two 2-week
program (held in July & August)
exposes students to the many aspects
and careers in the transportation
industry. Participants learn about
highway and bridge design by teaming
up to build a bridge out of balsa wood,
learning about the construction and
maintenance of roads, and other
career opportunities. Participants will
also go on field trips to places such as
T.F. Green Airport, boat trip on
Narragansett Bay, train ride to and
tour of Boston, Kingston Train
Station, and other recreational activities. Requirements: Participants must
be entering the 7th, 8th, and 9th
grade in the fall of 2014. He/she must
have a grade point average of 2.0 or
