Field Manager/Gérant Patrick Scalabrini
After winning four championships in his first four
seasons as a professional manager, Patrick Scalabrini returns for his fourth campaign at the helm of the Capitales.
Since becoming the club’s manager in 2010, the native of
Sherbrooke, Québec, has put together a 243-139 regularseason record, as well as a 20-7 postseason mark.
In eight seasons as a professional player, Scalabrini was
a career .293 hitter with 74 home runs, 397 RBIs and 750
hits. Scalabrini played for the Capitales from 2007 to 2009,
serving as a player-coach during the final two seasons.
He spent a season in affiliated baseball with the Baltimore
Orioles’ organization in 2005, splitting time between Low-A Delmarva and High-A
Frederick. In his first professional season, Scalabrini earned Northern League East
Rookie of the Year honors in 2002 with Québec, hitting .325 with seven home runs
and 45 RBI. He played collegiately at the University of Hawaii and at Seminole State
(Okla.) University.

Field Manager/Gérant Jamie Keefe 2011 Can-Am League Manager of the Year Jamie Keefe
enters his second season as the Boulders’ manager after
leading the club to the best record in franchise history in
2013.
A native of Rochester, N.H., Keefe managed the Can-Am
League’s Pittsfield Colonials in 2011, where he led the team
to a 52-39 record and a playoff berth. Prior to Pittsfield,
Keefe had spent nine seasons managing three different
clubs in the independent Frontier League; he led the Chillicothe Paints to the league’s best record in 2001 and 2003.
He has amassed over 400 professional victories as a manager.
Originally a third-round draft pick of Pittsburgh in 1992, Keefe spent nine seasons playing professionally in the Pirates and Padres systems, reaching as high as
Triple-A in 1997.

Former major-leaguer Pierre-Luc “Pete” Laforest returns
to Trois-Rivières after fielding a competitive Aigles squad in
2013, the club’s first season.
Laforest spent the 2009 through 2012 seasons playing
for the Québec Capitales, helping the club to four Can-Am
League championships and earning league MVP honors in
2009. The native of Gatineau, Québec, was also the club’s
hitting coach in 2011 and 2012.
Prior to the Capitales, Laforest spent time in the Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, San Diego and Montreal organizations,
reaching the big leagues with the Phillies and Padres in 2007, and the Devil Rays in
2003 and 2005. He played in the Triple-A All-Star Game with Durham in 2005, and
also played for Team Canada at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2006 World
Baseball Classic. Laforest was originally a 16th-round draft pick by the Expos out
of Fort Scott (Kansas) Community College.

impact with the big club, throwing 8 1/3 scoreless innings in his big

Signed by Seattle in 2011, Delabar quickly rose through the club’s minor-league system, reaching the majors in September of that year. After
a solid 2012 campaign split between the Mariners and Toronto, Delabar
had an even better 2013 for the Blue Jays, capped off by an appearance at the year’s All-Star Game which saw him strike out the National

RHP Raul Valdes, New Jersey/Nashua 2006 Valdes was purchased by the Mets’ organization after splitting the 2006
season between New Jersey and Nashua. He eventually reached the big
leagues with the Mets in 2010, where he made 38 appearances. After
spending time in the majors in 2011 with two clubs, Valdes moved to
Philadelphia for 2012, where he was a valuable member of the club’s
bullpen, putting together a 3-2 record and a 2.90 ERA in 27 outings. He
was claimed by the Houston Astros after the 2013 season.
Reaching the big leagues less than one year after pitching for the
Jackals in 2004, Breslow is one of the most dependable relievers in the
majors. The Yale graduate was a key cog in the Red Sox’ championship
run in 2013, serving as the team’s primary setup man for closer Koji Uehara while registering a 1.81 ERA and limiting opposing hitters to a .228
average. Prior to Boston, the native of Connecticut pitched for six other
big league clubs, and had also put in another stint for the Sox in 2006.
Just one season removed from pitching for Newark, Garcia quickly
worked his way up the Phillies’ ladder, making his big-league debut in
July 2013. He was a valuable member of the Philadelphia bullpen for the
rest of the season, appearing in 24 games and limiting opponents to a
.237 batting average.

Little became the first former Can-Am League umpire to reach the major
leagues when he worked the Baltimore-Cleveland game at Camden
Yards on June 24, 2013. After his stint in the Can-Am League, Little
moved to affiliated baseball, where he quickly worked his way up the
ladder through the Gulf Coast (Rookie), Appalachian (Rookie), South
Atlantic (A), Carolina (A) and Southern (AA) Leagues, before reaching
the Triple-A International League in 2011.
Umpire Adam Hamari, 2006
Hamari made his big-league umpiring debut just a day after fellow CanAm League alum Will Little, manning second base at the Cubs-Brewers
game at Miller Park on June 25, 2013. He had previously progressed
through the minors, working in the Midwest League (A), California
League (A), Florida State League (A), Southern League (AA) and Eastern
League (AA). In 2011, Hamari received his first AAA assignment, as he
began working in the Triple-A International League. He spent all of 2011
and 2012 as a full-time International League umpire.
