The interrelationship of the spring retainer, valve locks, and valve
stem(andtheirproperfit)isthemostcriticalfactorindeterminingthe
strengthandenduranceofyourvalvetrain.Thespringretainerandvalve
locks should seat snugly to the valve stem and not rotate freely when
pulled together – in this position, the retainer should have no relative
movement.
