successful as the D24x40 Series II. The versatility and power of this
machine has set a benchmark for the entirety of the HDD industry as
well as the Vermeer design team.
What makes this drill such a special entry in the Vermeer lineup?
Expect a high level of performance in a wide range of conditions with
a rotational torque of 4000 ft-lb (5423.3 Nm) and 24,000 lb (106.8
kN) of thrust/pullback force. This exceptional torque and pullback
force is combined with a 50 gpm (189.3 L/min) onboard variable
flow mud pump for maximized efficiency. And a tracking speed of 3
mph (4.8 k/hr) helps lessen setup time and allows for increased drill
maneuverability in difficult jobsite conditions.
For precise control of key drilling operations, dual electronic joysticks
are integrated into the ergonomically designed operator’s station.
Multifunction Display (MFD), an integrated remote display compatible
with select locator systems, is included as standard equipment.

1: Climate-controlled cab. The climatecontrolled cab option provides 360-degree
visibility, allowing the operator to easily
monitor all machine operations in comfort.
2: Operate the way you want to. Joystick
controls are now common through most of
the Navigator lineup decreasing operator
training time, while an additional display
screen mounted to the operator’s station
allows for closer monitoring of machine
performance helping to prevent service
disruptions.
3: Drill on. AutoDrill allows the operator
to set the rotation and thrust/pullback
pressure while drilling in changing soil
conditions. The Auto Resume function
allows slurry/cuttings to mix before thrust/
pullback resumes.

limiter provides proper makeup torque to
drill rod joints, and prevents operator from
over-torqueing drill rod, helping to increase
life of the drive chuck and drill rod.
6: Mud pump option. An optional mud
pump rated at 50 gpm (189.3 L/min) at
1300 psi (89.6 bar) provides sufficient flow
for small- and medium-diameter bores
without the help of an external highpressure pump.
