POLLS: Ole Miss is not ranked in either the
Associated Press poll or the ESPN Coaches’ poll,
while LSU is ranked ninth in both polls.
SERIES INFO: This game will be the 95th all-time
between the Ole Miss Rebels and LSU Tigers dating
back to 1894. LSU is Ole Miss’ second-most played
opponent besides Mississippi State, whom the Rebels
will play for the 103rd time on November 25 in Oxford.
LSU holds a 53-37-4 advantage in the series. The
Tigers have won five of the last six meetings, including four straight after last year’s 40-7 win in Oxford.
LSU is 35-24-1 against Ole Miss in Baton Rouge, and
has taken the last two encounters at Tiger Stadium.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The game versus LSU will
be the fourth time this season the Rebels line-up versus a team ranked in the Top 25 ... Ole Miss will be
looking for its first win over a ranked team since
defeating #25 South Carolina in 2004 ... The Rebels
are 12-20 following an off-week since 1990 ... The
Demons, a Division 1-AA team, are playing their third
Division 1-A team of the season ... Senior LB Patrick
Willis continues to lead the SEC in tackles with 11.2
per game ... Willis ranks second in the NCAA in solo
tackles with 7.4 per game and sixth in total tackles
with his 11.2 per outing and was named a Butkus
Award finalist and Lott Trophy Semifinalist in the last
week ... Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis ranks second in the SEC with 86.6 yards per game on the
ground.
OLE MISS HEAD COACH ED ORGERON: Ed
Orgeron (Northwestern State, 1984) is in his second
season as the Ole Miss head coach, having been hired
on Dec. 16, 2004. The Rebels are 6-15 under Orgeron
as he posted a 3-8 mark in his first season in Oxford.
Ole Miss is Orgeron’s first career head coaching position, although he possesses over 20 years of college
coaching experience, most recently as an assistant
head coach on USC’s 2003 and 2004 national champion teams. Orgeron is 0-1 versus LSU.
LSU HEAD COACH LES MILES: Les Miles is 19-4
in his second season as the head coach of the LSU
Tigers. He has a career mark of 47-25 (.621 winning
pct.) in six seasons as a collegiate head coach. Prior
to LSU, Miles served four seasons as the head coach
at Oklahoma State from 2001-2004, posting a 28-21
record and guiding the Cowboys to three bowl
appearances. One of those postseason berths was
the 2004 Cotton Bowl, where his OSU squad lost to
Ole Miss 31-28 in Miles’ only confrontation with the
Rebels. The 2002 Big 12 Coach of the Year, Miles
served as an assistant with Michigan, Colorado and
the Dallas Cowboys before taking over at OSU.
LSU SCOUTING REPORT: The Tigers are 8-2 entering Saturday’s contest with a 4-2 mark in SEC play
after picking up back-to-back wins over Tennessee
and Alabama in their last two outings. Junior quarterback Jamarcus Russell leads a high powered offense
that is averaging over 420 yards per game. Russell
has completed 177 of 250 passes for 2364 yards. He
has thrown 21 TDs with only seven interceptions. A
trio of Tiger receivers have had outstanding seasons.
Senior Dwayne Bowe (48 catches for 780 yards and
nine TDs), senior Craig Davis (44 catches for 637
yards and three TDs) and junior Early Doucet (44
catches for 577 yards and six TDs) are three of the
top pass catchers in the SEC. The Tiger run game is
led by junior Jacob Hester with 355 yards on 73 carries with six TDs. The Tiger defense is the top ranked
squad in the NCAA. LSU gives up only 231 yards of
total offense to its opponents, including just 72 on the
ground. Linebacker Darry Beckwith leads the team in
tackles with 56 and is followed by All-America safety
LaRon Landry with 52. Tyson Jackson has 7.5 sacks
for minus 33 yards, while Craig Steltz has grabbed
four interceptions to lead the team.

LSU 40, Ole Miss 7: JaMarcus Russell threw two touchdown passes
and LSU's defense smothered Mississippi in a 40-7 victory. LSU held
Ole Miss to 7 yards rushing and gave the Rebels their worst loss in
Oxford in 56 years.
fourth-quarter rally to earn a 17-14 win. Trailing 17-7, Manning connected with Brandon Jacobs for a 10-yard TD pass to make it 17-14
with 10:51 remaining in the game. Ole Miss later had a chance to tie
the game, but Jonathan Nichols missed on a 36-yard FG with 4:15
remaining.

LSU 27, Ole Miss 24: Alley Broussard ran for a school-record 250
yards with 3 TDs and No. 14 LSU rallied to beat Ole Miss 27-24. The
Rebels held a 24-17 lead early in the third quarter after Trumaine
McBride intercepted JaMarcus Russell and returned it 48 yards for a
TD, followed by a 2-point conversion. Chris Jackson connected on a
42-yard kick to pull LSU to 24-20 at the end of the third, and in the
fourth, the Tigers drove 61 yards, with Broussard giving LSU the lead
on a 7-yard scoring run with 10:51 left in the game.

LSU 14, Ole Miss 13: QB Marcus Randall came off the bench to
throw two TD passes, including a 27-yarder to Michael Clayton with
6:34 remaining the game to rally the No. 21 Tigers to a 14-13 win and
snap the Rebels’ three-game win streak at Tiger Stadium.

Ole Miss 35, LSU 24: Eli Manning threw two fourth-quarter TD passes to Doug Zeigler to rally Ole Miss to a 35-24 victory over LSU at
Tiger Stadium. Trailing 24-21 in the fourth, Manning drove the Rebels
35 yards on three plays, hitting Zeigler with a 17-yard pass to make
it 28-24. Ole Miss then recovered an LSU fumble with 5:05 left, and
seven plays later, Manning connected with Zeigler on a four-yard TD
pass to make it 35-24.

Miss head coach Ed Orgeron’s weekly call-in radio
show, Reb Talk, will air Thursday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 8
p.m. CT from the Oxford University Club just off the

WILLIS NAMED BUTKUS FINALIST: Ole Miss senior LB Patrick Willis was recently named one of three
finalists for the 2006 Butkus Award given to the
nation’s top linebacker. Willis is joined by James
Laurinaitis of Ohio State and Paul Posluszny of Penn
State as the finalists for the award. The winner will be
announced on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Home Depot
ESPN College Football Awards Show. Willis was also
named a Lott Trophy Semifinalist last week. He is one
of seven players still being considered for the award.
OFFENSIVE NOTES VS. NORTHWESTERN ST.
• Ole Miss’ 401 yards of total offense was its most
under head coach Ed Orgeron … The previous high
was 400 at Vanderbilt in 2005.
• Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis posted his fourth
100-yard rushing effort of the season with 116 on 14
carries and a TD … Green-Ellis led Ole Miss in rushing and has done so in all 10 games this season.
• Junior RB Bruce Hall scored his first TD as a Rebel
on a 22-yard run in the second quarter … Hall later
broke off a career-long 30-yard jaunt … He finished
with a career-best 85 rushing yards on 12 attempts.
• QB Brent Schaeffer and WR Mike Wallace hooked
up on a 35-yard TD in the third quarter … It marked
the second longest toss-and-catch score for
Schaeffer and Wallace, as the two connected on a 55-
yard TD bomb at Alabama.
• Sophomore WR Mike Wallace established a careerhigh for receptions with six grabs for 80 yards and the
touchdown … Wallace has recorded at least one
catch in nine straight games.
GREEN-ELLIS LEADS THE GROUND GAME: Ole
Miss junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis is the leader
in the Rebel ground game. Green-Ellis has led Ole
Miss in rushing in each of the first 10 games with a
career-high 135 in the Rebels’ loss to Georgia. GreenEllis posted his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the
season with 116 yards on 14 carries in Ole Miss’ win
over Northwestern State. Green-Ellis currently ranks
second in the SEC with 86.6 yards per game. With
866 yards through the first 10 games, the New
Orleans native is currently on pace to become Ole
Miss’ first 1,000-yard rusher since Deuce McAllister
recorded 1,082 yards on 212 rushes during the 1998
season. Through the first 111 years of Ole Miss football, the Rebels have only had two players go over
1,000 yards rushing in McAllister (1,082 yards in
1998) and Kayo Dottley (1,355 yards in 1949 and
1,057 yards in 1950). The following are Green-Ellis’

HALL MAKING ALL THE PLAYS
Junior RB Bruce Hall has found a way to do a little bit
of everything for the Rebels this season. Hall ranks
second on the team in rushing with 176 yards on 30
carries. He also has four catches for 26 yards and has
also completed one pass for nine yards. Hall, who
also lines up on special teams, has recorded one solo
tackles in 10 games.
LANE RETURNS TO THE GAME: Junior TE Robert
Lane hauled in his two longest receptions of the season versus Auburn to lead the Ole Miss receiving
crew with 78 yards. Lane, who returned to the line-up
after missing the Alabama and Arkansas games with
an injury, opened the game with a 37 yard reception
and then grabbed his season long reception of 41
yards in the third quarter.

offense set a good tone early in the game versus
Auburn, scoring on the opening drive for just the first
time this season. Sophomore Mico McSwain scored
on a 27-yard end-around play to give the Rebels a
quick lead and a much needed spark. The Rebels
again scored on their first possession versus
Northwestern State as running back BenJarvus
Green-Ellis carried it in from four yards out. Ole Miss
went on to defeat Northwestern State 27-7.

HICKS MAKING HEADLINES: Redshirt freshman
WR Michael Hicks had a career-day in Ole Miss’ loss
to Arkansas. Hicks hauled in four receptions for 88
yards, both career-highs, in his second-straight start.
He and QB Brent Schaeffer connected on Ole Miss’
second longest play of the season in the third quarter
after Schaeffer scrambled before tossing a 51-yard
pass to Hicks. The 51-yard reception also marked a
career-long for Hicks.
THE WICKER MAN: Ole Miss senior offensive lineman Andrew Wicker is a traveling man and one of
the most valuable players on the Rebel squad.
Wicker, who played his first three seasons on the
Rebel defensive line, was moved to the offensive side
of the ball with the hiring of Ed Orgeron. In his time on
the offensive line, Wicker since picked up starts at two
different positions in right tackle and his natural position of left guard. In all, Wicker has started at four different spots during his Rebel career, as he also picked
up starts at defensive tackle and nose guard prior to
his move to the offense.
DEFENSIVE NOTES VS. NORTHWESTERN ST.
• The Ole Miss defense allowed a season-low seven
points ... It marks the fourth time in head coach Ed
Orgeron’s two years with the Rebels that an opponent
was limited to seven points or less.
• Senior LB Patrick Willis led the Rebel defense with
11 tackles (seven solo) … Willis has now recorded 10
or more tackles in 16 of his last 18 games.
• Sophomore DL Peria Jerry returned to the Rebel
lineup after missing the last two games … Jerry finished with five stops.
• In his second start at linebacker, sophomore
Jamarca Sanford registered seven tackles, with 0.5
sacks and a pass break-up.
JOHNSON TACKLING THE SEC: Junior LB Rory
Johnson arrived at Ole Miss’ fall camp from Hinds CC
two weeks late, leaving him scrambling to learn the
Ole Miss defense. After picking up confidence with a
good outing versus the Georgia in his first career start,
MISSISSIPPI TABBED AS TOP FOOTBALL STATE
The State of Mississippi was recognized recently by
USA Football, a nonprofit organization created by the
NFL and NFL Players Associate to lead the development and growth of youth and amateur football, as the
“Best Football State” in the country on a per capita
basis. The study was conducted by USA Football and
the Wharton Sports Business Initiative at the University
of Pennsylvania and included a variety of per capita criteria including the percentages of collegiate and professional football fans in the state, number of NFL players who hail from the state, percentage of high school
football players in the state and percentage of high
school players who have letters-of-intent to play for
NCAA Division I-A colleges and universities.
Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour accepted the inaugural award from USA Football Chairman Jack Kemp
at a press conference at the state capital in Jackson.
Johnson had a breakout performance in guiding Ole
Miss to its first SEC win of the 2006 season versus
Vanderbilt. Against the Commodores, Johnson posted
16 tackles (nine solo), three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one pass defensed. Johnson
haulted a late Vandy drive by taking the ball out of
Commodore QB Mackenzi Adams hands and giving
the ball back to Ole Miss. For his play, Johnson was
named this week’s SEC Defensive Player of the
Week on Monday, Oct 9. Johnson is the second
Rebel player to earn SEC honors as Dexter
McCluster was named the SEC’s Freshman of the
Week on Sept 4. Johnson did not stop there as he
has recorded double-digits in tackles in four of
the last six games and has collected 65 tackles
over that span.
HARDY WREAKING HAVOC: Rebel freshman DE
Greg Hardy, who has started seven of 10 games this
season, colleced a career-high 10 (five solo) tackles
in the win over Vanderbilt. Hardy also turned in his
third forced fumble of the season and one pass
defensed versus the Commodores. The 10 tackles
mark his first double-digit tackling performance of his

career. On the season, Hardy ranks sixth on the team
in tackles with 43 (27 solo), while leading Ole Miss
with four forced fumbles and two sacks. Since joining
the starting line-up, Hardy has collected 40 (25 solo)
tackles, four forced fumbles, three passes defensed,
and two sacks on the season.
SPECIALTY NOTES VS. NORTHWESTERN ST.
• Freshman K Joshua Shene connected on a careerlong 52-yard field-goal attempt in the second quarter
… It tied as the sixth-longest FG in Ole Miss history
and the longest since Jonathan Nichols drilled a 54yarder against Vanderbilt in 2003 … It marked
Shene’s second-longest attempt of the year, as he
missed a 53-yarder vs. Georgia … Shene has made
nine straight FGs since that miss, including a 23-yard
try in the third quarter, and is now 10-of-12 on the season.
CASSIUS GOES FOR THE KNOCKOUT: Ole Miss
freshman DB Cassius Vaughn made a splash in a
big way in Ole Miss’ narrow loss to Georgia. Vaughn,
who has played on special teams in each of the
Rebels’ first eight games, finally got a piece of the
action picking up his first career punt block in the second quarter. The outstanding special teams play led to
an Ole Miss field goal and got Ole Miss on the board
versus the Bulldogs. Vaughn nearly repeated the feat
against Vanderbilt, instead tackling the Commodore
punter for a loss of 13 yards. Vaughn’s play versus
Vanderbilt led to an Ole Miss TD.
SHENE FINDING HIS GROOVE: Rebel freshman K
Joshua Shene had a career day in Ole Miss’ 26-23
overtime loss at Alabama. The Oklahoma City, Okla.,
native, made 3-of-3 field goals on the afternoon, both
career bests. After not attempting a field goal in Ole
Miss’ first three games, Shene has made 10-of-12
over the last seven outings, including nine-straight.
He has also made all 16 of his PATs. Shene recorded
a career-long field goal of 52 yards in the Rebels’ win
over Northwestern State. The 52-yarder is tied for the
second longest field goal made by an SEC kicker this
season.
2006 TEAM CAPTAINS: On September 9, Ed
Orgeron announced his two permanent team captains
for the 2006 campaign. A pair of seniors wear the title
— LB Patrick Willis (Bruceton, Tenn.) and OL
Andrew Wicker (Zachary, La.).
Mouzon and Cassius Vaughn each picked up a
block on Georgia’s Gordon Ely-Kelso in the first half of
action. In addition, Ole Miss senior DB Trumaine
McBride blocked a Kentucky field goal attempt earlier in the season. The Rebels’ nearly recorded another block on a punt versus Vanderbilt, as the punter
was tackled for a loss.
FIRST HALF REBELS: Ole Miss has been a strong
first half team this season, posting 95 points in the first
half of action. Of the Rebels’ 148 points, 53 have
come in the second period of play. Conversely, the
Rebels have struggled to put points on the board in
the second half, picking up just 23 points in the third
quarter and 27 points in the fourth quarter. Below is an

RUN DMC: Ole Miss freshman WR Dexter
McCluster is racking up yards in all phases of the
game. McCluster, who was named Freshman of the
Week by both the Southeastern Conference and
Rivals.com after the Memphis game, is second on the
team in all-purpose yards behind BenJarvus GreenEllis. McCluster has gained 68 yards on the ground,
232 yards through the air and 274 on kick-off returns,
despite missing the majority of the last four games
with an injury.
YOUNG RECEIVERS: Ole Miss boasts experienced
pass-catchers at the running back and tight end positions, but at wide receiver, the Rebel talent is young.
Of the 90 receptions on the season, 74 are to firsttime pass-catchers. True freshmen Dexter
McCluster and Marshay Green lead the way.
McCluster has 15 catches for 232 yards and a TD
and Green has 17 receptions for 150 yards and two
TDs. Redshirt freshman Michael Hicks was the most
recent young receiver to get in the mix as he caught
the first pass of his career versus Wake Forest, finishing the game with three catches for 53 yards.
SCHEDULE NOTES
• Ole Miss will face six teams that went to bowl games
last year: Memphis (Motor City), Missouri
(Independence), Georgia (Sugar), Alabama (Cotton),
Auburn (Capital One) and LSU (Peach).
• The Rebels take on two first-time opponents in Wake
Forest and Northwestern State.
• For the first time in two years, Ole Miss plays seven
home games this season, hosting Memphis (Sept. 3),
Wake Forest (Sept. 23), Georgia (Sept. 30),
Vanderbilt (Oct. 7), Auburn (Oct. 28), Northwestern
State (Nov. 4) and Mississippi State (Nov. 25).

GAME #1:

MEMPHIS 25
• The Rebels’ 28 points scored versus Memphis was
the most by an Ole Miss team since they tallied 31
points at South Carolina on Oct. 9, 2004.
• The newcomers on the Rebel offense had a warm
welcome to their new home, accounting for 321 of Ole
Miss’ 337 yards in the win over Memphis. Transfers
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB) and Brent Schaeffer
(QB) tallied 127 and 48 yards, respectively, on the
ground to go along with Dexter McCluster’s (WR) 60
yards of rushing. McCluster also added 86 receiving
yards.
• Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis plowed his way
to 127 yards and 2 TDs on 26 carries in his Rebel
debut versus Memphis. Green-Ellis, who registered
career highs of 203 yards and 3 TDs on 42 carries
while spending his first two collegiate seasons at
Indiana, tallied the most yards by an Ole Miss running
back since Vashon Pearson turned in 139 yards on 21
carries versus Wyoming in 2004.
• Behind Green-Ellis’ performance, the Rebels picked
up 240 yards on the ground, the most by an Ole Miss
squad since the season-ending win over Mississippi
State in the 2004 Egg Bowl. Ole Miss notched 283
yards versus the Bulldogs. The Rebels did not eclipse
the 200-yard mark in rushing for all of the 2005 season, with the highest mark of 163 coming against
Kentucky.
• Junior CB Nate Banks posted a career-best 3 passes defensed versus Memphis.
• Junior DE Viciente DeLoach forced a fumble in the
third quarter versus Memphis. It was the first forced
fumble of his career.
• Freshman WR Dexter McCluster gained 122 yards
on 5 kick-off returns for the Rebels.
• Sophomore P Rob Park punted three times versus
Memphis for an average of 47.3 yards, a single game
career-best average.
OLE MISS 7
MISSOURI 34
• Junior QB Brent Schaeffer completed his first TD
pass in a Rebel uniform versus Missouri with a 30yard strike to freshman WR Marshay Green in the
second quarter. Schaeffer previously recorded 2 TD
passes as a freshman at Tennessee.
• The Rebels had the ball for just 57 plays versus
Missouri compared to 83 vs. the Tigers. Despite the
difference in the number of plays, Ole Miss led in possession time 30:49 to 29:11.
• Freshman WR Marshay Green caught his first
career pass with a 5-yard reception in the second
quarter at Missouri. Green followed that up with his
first career TD reception on the following play.
• Ole Miss' 162 yards of total offense versus Missouri
was the Rebels' lowest offensive output since posting
only 136 yards versus Auburn in 1998.
• Four Rebels recorded their first career reception in
the loss to Missouri. Along with Marshay Green, junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, sophomore WR Mike
Wallace and freshman WR Kendrick Lewis each
grabbed their first pass-catch.
• Senior LB Patrick Willis recorded 10 tackles (6
solo) and also picked up a career-best two pass
break-ups versus Missouri. The 10 tackles marked
the fourth-straight double-digit tackling game for Willis
dating back to last season. He has recorded 10 or
more tackles in nine of his last 10 games.
• Sophomore DL Peria Jerry was credited with his
first career sack at Missouri. Jerry sacked Tiger QB
Chase Daniel in the first quarter for a 2-yard loss.
Jerry also recorded a career-high six tackles in the
game.
• In his first career start, true freshman DL Marcus
Tillman posted a career-high six (five solo) tackles,
including 2.0 TFLs for minus two yards.
• Sophomore CB Dustin Mouzon posted a careerbest five (four solo) tackles. Mouzon also recorded his
first career forced fumble versus Missouri.
• Rob Park had a career-high 10 punts for a careerhigh 405 yards at Missouri, including a long of 48
yards. Park’s previous career-best marks came
against LSU in 2005 when he punted nine times for
325 yards.
GAME #3:
OLE MISS 14
KENTUCKY 31
• Junior QB Brent Schaeffer completed 13-of-26
passes versus Kentucky for 190 yards, two TDs and
one interception. The two TDs marked the first multiple TD performance of Schaeffer's career. The 190
yards were a new career best. Schaeffer also rushed
11 times for 65 yards, both career highs.
• Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis finished the
Kentucky game with 85 yards on 19 carries … GreenEllis now has 216 yards on 52 carries versus
Kentucky in his college career.
• Freshman WR Marshay Green hauled in his second
career TD with a 47-yard pass reception from QB
Brent Schaeffer with 1:03 remaining in the first quarter at Kentucky. The TD marked the first Ole Miss
points scored in the first quarter of play this season …
Green's 47-yard reception was a career-long.
GAME #2:
BenJarvus
Green-Ellis
• Junior TE Robert Hough caught his first career TD
pass with a 27-yard grab from Schaeffer with 4:08
remaining in the second quarter versus Kentucky.
Hough's TD was the first for a Rebel TE since
Lawrence Lilly hauled in a 4-yard TD pass versus
Mississippi State in 2004 … The reception by Hough
was also the first for an Ole Miss TE this season.
• The Ole Miss offense tallied 395 total yards on 65
plays versus Kentucky, season-highs for both. The
395 yards were the most by a Rebel offense since
recording 400 yards versus Vanderbilt in 2005.
• Junior LB Garry Pack posted a career-best 14 tackles against the Wildcats. His previous career high was
10 tackles versus Mississippi State in 2005. His 14
solo tackles are also a career high.
• Senior LB Patrick Willis recorded 13 tackles (seven
solo) and also picked up 1.5 TFLs for minus five yards
and a pass break-up versus Kentucky. The 13 tackles
marked the fifth-straight double-digit tackling game for
Willis. He has recorded 10 or more tackles in 10 of his
last 11 games.
• The Rebel defense held Kentucky to a punt on the
first possession of the game. It marked the first time
this season Ole Miss did not allow a TD on the opponents opening drive.
• In his first career start at Kentucky, freshman DE
Greg Hardy recorded his first career forced fumble
and fumble recovery. Hardy also posted a career-best
two passes defensed.
• Freshman WR Marshay Green returned the second
kick-off of his career in the first quarter for 41 yards
versus the the Wildcats. The 41-yard return marked a
career-high for Green.
• On the final play of the first half, senior CB Trumaine
McBride blocked a 37-yard FG attempt by UK's
Lones Seiber. It was the first blocked FG for the
Rebels since Jayme Mitchell blocked a 51-yard
attempt versus Tennessee in 2005. It was McBride's
first career blocked FG.

WAKE FOREST 27
• Redshirt freshman Michael Hicks picked up his first
career reception with a 20-yard catch to end the third
quarter. Hicks finished the game versus Wake Forest
with three catches for 53 yards.
• Junior QB Seth Adams saw his first career action
versus Wake Forest. Adams was 8-for-11 passing for
84 yards.
• Senior LB Patrick Willis collected 11 tackles, marking the sixth-straight double-digit tackling game for
Willis. He has now recorded 10 or more tackles in 11
of his last 12 games.
• Sophomore DB Jamarca Sanford tallied 10 tackles,
a new career-high. He previously posted eight tackles
on three occasions.
• The Rebel defense gave up a TD on the opponents'
first drive for the third time in four games this season.
• Sophomore LB Quentin Taylor picked up 9 tackles,
a new career-high. He previously posted eight tackles
in the season opener versus Memphis.
• Freshman DE Greg Hardy recorded his secondstraight game with a forced fumble in the loss to Wake
Forest.
• Junior DL Brandon Jenkins recovered his first
career fumble following Hardy's strip in the first quarter. Jenkins also recorded a career-best six tackles.
• Freshman K Joshua Shene connected on his first
career FG in the second quarter, a 26-yard attempt.
Shene was 1-of-2 on the evening after missing his
first career attempt of 25 yards in the first quarter.

#9/10 GEORGIA 14
• Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis led the Rebels
on the ground for the fifth-straight game versus
Georgia as he finished the game with a career-high
135 yards on 24 carries …The 135 Yards also marked
the second time this season Green-Ellis has gone
over the century mark, as he had 127 yards in the
season-opener versus Memphis ... The 135 yards
marked the most by a Rebel running back since
Vashon Pearson ran for 139 yards against Wyoming
in 2004.
• Freshman WR Dexter McCluster's 49-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter versus UGA was
his first of the season, and the longest reception of the
season for the Rebels ... the 49-yard reception was
also a career-long for McCluster.
• The Ole Miss defense shut out its opponent in the
first half for the first time this season when it held
Georgia scoreless the first two periods.
• Freshman SS Cassius Vaughn blocked a punt by
Georgia's Gordon Ely-Kelso in the second quarter …
The block was the first of Vaughn's career and the first
blocked punt by a Rebel since Bryan Brown blocked
a punt versus Kentucky in 2005.
• Freshman K Joshua Shene was 1-for-2 on the
evening, knocking through a 23-yard attempt in the
second frame after missing a career-long attempt of
53-yards in the first quarter.

VANDERBILT 10
• Junior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis scored his third
TD of the season on a two-yard carry in the first quarter … The TD was Green-Ellis' first since the seasonopener versus Memphis … The TD was only the second TD scored in the first quarter for the Rebels this
season … Green-Ellis led the Rebels' in rushing for
the sixth time this season with 101 yards on 24 carries
… Green-Ellis posted his second-straight 100-yard
rushing game and third of the season …With 571
yards on the season, Green-Ellis becomes the fastest
Rebel to reach the 500-yard mark in rushing since
Vashon Pearson went over 500 yards in the sixth
game of the season in 2004.
• The Ole Miss offense posted 14 first quarter points
after having scored only seven points in the first quarter in the first five games of the season.

• Punter Rob Park completed a five-yard pass to
Bruce Hall on a fake punt in the fourth quarter to convert a first down. It was the first attempt and completion of Park's career and the first fake punt for the

recovery … Hardy leads the Rebel defense with four

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 116 yards and a
touchdown Saturday as Ole Miss snapped a three-game losing streak with a
27-7 win over Northwestern State.
Ole Miss (3-7) rolled up 401 yards in total offense, with Green-Ellis and backup Bruce Hall accounting for 201 on the ground.
Brent Schaeffer completed 13 of 23 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown
as the Rebels matched last season's total for wins. The Rebels snapped an
early 7-7 tie by grinding down Division I-AA Northwestern State (4-5) over the
final three periods.
The Demons, winless in 14 games against SEC teams, finished 0-3 this season against Division I-A teams.
The clubs swapped touchdowns on the opening series. Green-Ellis scored on
a 6-yard run to give the Rebels a 7-0 edge. Northwestern State answered with
its best series. The Demons covered 85 yards in five plays, tying the score on
a 4-yard pass from Roch Charpentier to Dudley Guice.
Ole Miss led 17-7 at halftime after Joshua Shene connected on a career-best
52-yard field goal and Hall scored on a 22-yard run. Schaeffer was 3-for-3 for
43 yards on the touchdown drive, including a fourth-down conversion on a 6yard pass to Mike Wallace.
The Rebels put it away with consecutive scoring drives to open the second
half. Shene had a 23-yard field goal, followed by a 35-yard touchdown pass
from Schaeffer to Wallace.
Ole Miss limited Northwestern State to 72 yards and four first downs in the
second half. Byron Lawrence finished with 82 yards on 10 carries, but the
Demons managed only 91 passing yards and never seriously threatened after
the first quarter.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - JaMarcus Russell threw two touchdown passes and
LSU's defense smothered Mississippi in a 40-7 victory Saturday night to move
the fourth-ranked Tigers one step closer to the SEC championship game.
LSU (9-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) held Ole Miss to 7 yards rushing
and gave the Rebels their worst loss in Oxford in 56 years.
Joseph Addai and Justin Vincent each had 1-yard touchdown runs while
Russell had a 3-yard scoring pass to Craig Davis and a 20-yard TD toss to Early
Doucet in leading LSU to its eighth straight win since an overtime loss to
Tennessee.
Russell finished 13-of-22 passing for 142 yards, Addai had 70 yards on 14
carries, and Chris Jackson kicked a season-best 48-yard field goal for LSU.
The Tigers defense, which entered as one of the SEC's best, lived up to its
reputation, took a shutout into the final minutes and claimed a rare blowout win
over Ole Miss. LSU had won the previous three meetings by a combined seven
points.
The Rebels (3-7, 1-6) crossed midfield only once against LSU's defensive
starters but avoided their first shutout since 1998 when backup Micheal
Spurlock threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Taye Biddle with less than three
minutes to play.
Ole Miss' offensive struggles put the Rebels in an early hole. Ethan Flatt took
a snap, stumbled in the end zone, fumbled and fell on the ball for a safety to
give LSU a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers then scored twice in the second quarter to take control.
Russell's 3-yard scoring pass to Davis extended the lead to 9-0 two plays into
the second quarter. On the Tigers' next possession, Addai then had a 1-yard
touchdown run to make it a 16-point game.
Ethan Flatt was 9-of-15 passing for 49 yards in his second start of the season for Ole Miss. Spurlock replaced him early in the third quarter and was 11of-23 for 149 yards.
