Endomycorrhiza inoculant
Endomycorrhiza inoculant (Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza) RhizoMyx is a bioyield enhancer designed to improve the plant performance by increasing root development, thereby making nutrients more available and plant growth more efficient. It is an endomycorrhiza inoculant formulated in a water-soluble material designed for liquid drench application in both plant containers and in the field. Benefits of using RhizoMyx® RhizoMyx® is uniquely formulated with • Increased nutrient and water absorption • • Improved stress tolerance A range of endomycorrhiza (VAM) spores and propagules for increased nutrient and water uptake • Increased feeder root development and function • • Improved plant resistance to pathogens A biostimulant complex to enhance plant tolerance to stress Performance Many independent field tests were established with external contractors to prove the efficacy of our products and provide relevant answers for our customers. Novozymes also managed a significant number of trials with RhizoMyx on several vegetable crops. Field test on carrots in the UK (using a soil injection process) Field test on peppers in Spain Vigour scores at first harvest Trial E0731 Gross yield (t/ha) by size grade Fig. 1. Vegetables treated with RhiyzoMyx (at 2kg/ha) gives a greater proportion of marketable yield (25–40 mm). Fig. 2. Compared to fertiliser treatment, plant vigour is notably better in RhizoMyx-treated plants, especially at 2.5 and 10 kg/ha dosage rates. Endomycorrhiza inoculant (Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza) RhizoMyx contains a range of endomycorrhiza (VAM) spores and propagules with a biostimulant package. Each 500-g sachet of water-soluble material contains a minimum of 39,500 propagules. The mycorrhiza fungi form symbiotic relationships with plant roots, thereby improving the root efficiency and production, as well as nutrient (especially P) and water uptake. They also allow carbon acquisition, phytohormone production, photosynthesis stimulation and many other benefits such as competitiveness of plants and pathogen resistance. Other biological ingredients provide micronutrient and plant compounds that are vital to internal plant physiological activities, particularly during periods of plant stress. The ingredients provided in RhizoMyx improve root and shoot growth, flowering (and flower retention), and yield quality. Usage • Mycorrhiza fungi must have root contact for good inoculation. For best results, use enough mix to saturate the root zone thoroughly • All mixed product should be used within 24 hours to ensure effectiveness • When using a proportioner injection system, it is important that the mixture is kept flowing until fully applied, so that product does not settle within the irrigation system • Any growing media containing RhizoMyx must not become hot (above 40 °C) from composting • RhizoMyx is not intended for ectomycorrhizal plants such as conifers and oaks, or plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons, and orchids • Minimum filter size is 40 mesh (420 microns) for diluted product, so ensure all equipment apertures are > 0.5 mm Dosage Plant nursery • Mix 500-g sachet in 500 L water • Ensure product is mixed well in water, and keep agitated • Drench containers only up to water-holding capacity • Minimise runoff and excess through-flow of mixed product • Split application of product at 2 to 3 week intervals can be advantageous Field application • Young vegetable plants (tomato, pepper, melon, etc.): 0.1– 0.2 g/ plant* • Young fruit, vine, and citrus plants: 1.0–2.0 g/plant* • Mature fruit, olive, and citrus trees: 10 g/plant* • Mix 500-g sachet in 500–1,000 L water (depending on soil moisture) • Ensure product is mixed well in water, and keep agitated • Apply through hand drench or proportioner injection irrigation systems • Apply sufficient to soak immediate rooting area of crop, avoiding runoff • Split application of product at 2 to 3 week intervals can be advantageous * Actual application rates depend upon the number of plants per hectare. Media inoculation One 500-g sachet in 250 L of water will treat 1 m3 of porous growing media. Safety, handling, and storage • • In case of skin contact flush with water For maximum shelf life, store between 5 and 25 °C. Keep out of direct sunlight Package size 500-g sachet and 20-kg pail For more information on RhizoMyx, please contact Novozymes +33 1 30.15.28.40 | www.bioag.novozymes.com Novozymes is the world leader in bioinnovation.
