DEAR FRIENDS,
I’m sure you have heard us say we are “listener supported” many times,
but what does that really mean?
All our operating costs come from listeners who supply the funding
needed to keep K-LOVE on the air, 24-7. “Listener supported” also
means two additional and essential values: One is that you, as a listener,
agree that our core mission is to take the Gospel, via today’s media, to
all who need to hear it, and to inspire and encourage a closer personal
relationship with Jesus. Second, we ask you to join us in prayer, for the
right to worship Christ at the time and place of our choice. The bottom
line is that “listener supported” means we are joined by a common bond
and a singular belief. We are hand-in-hand on a mission that has eternal
impact. It’s great to know that together, with God leading the way, we
are stronger than apart. Bless you.

Easter Sunday is a special time for the body of Christ.
We come together to worship, take communion and
remember the sacrifices Jesus made on our behalf.
We feel the impact of God’s love for us when we read
the details of Christ’s suffering and we again experience
the joy of His triumph over death through Resurrection.
We leave feeling refreshed and renewed,
in awe of God’s mercy, and thankful for
the blessing of salvation. But how do we
keep that Easter heart all year long?
How do we remain in that place of gratitude, wonder and joy?

The Bible is “God-breathed” (1 Timothy 3:16); it is
God’s very words to us. Stay refreshed by getting
in the habit of reading through one Psalm per
day, or take a month and read through Proverbs.
Make it even easier by signing up to receive daily
scriptures through K-LOVE’s Encouraging Word
e-mail ministry. C L I C K H E R E

The Bible Continues with your family. It’s not
often we get to watch the Biblical story unfold on
national television. Sundays on NBC, “A.D. The
Bible Continues” chronicles the story of what
follows Christ’s resurrection. It is the story of the
revolution that changed the world: the Gospel
message. C L I C K H E R E

Build Relationships: We are to “encourage one
another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians
5:11). The value of being part of a local church or
community group is immeasurable.

There is no greater way to honor Christ’s
sacrifice and keep a grateful heart than to share
the love of Jesus with others. Whether you’re
proclaiming the Gospel or simply reaching out in
kindness to a stranger, nothing keeps you more
connected to God’s love than giving it to others.
Find opportunities to get involved in your local
community. C L I C K H E R E
It’s not easy to keep an Easter heart in a busy world,
overrun with distractions and obligations. The more
choices you make to stay connected to God’s Word,
to your fellow believers and your community, the
easier it will be to keep that spirit of awe, rejoicing in
the joy of our salvation all year long.

“After extensive prayer (and some tears)
I let go and I took a leap of faith one
year ago: I quit my high-stress job and
asked God for one year off to rest and
address my failing health due to chronic
illness. With encouraging words and
supportive ministry, K-LOVE was with me
every step of the way during this difficult
decision. Today, I’m so excited to share
with K-LOVE that after being blessed with
exactly 365 days off, I will start a new job
and a beautiful opportunity to praise God
for all that He has given me. Thank you
God and K-LOVE for your everlasting love
and encouraging words of faith!”

“DAY ONE”
As Mathew began reading through stories
that he would receive, he found that the
writers were counting up the days of their
winning streaks. That resonated with him
that when the winning streak comes to an
end, guilt can settle in. It then becomes
easy to beat ourselves up over not being
perfect! This is where scripture comes in like
Lamentations 3:23 which state, “His mercies
never end, they are new every morning.”
The counting of consecutive sin days is
something we don’t have to be owned by
anymore. Whether you are on a winning
streak or a losing streak, God’s giving you an
opportunity to start over. Today is day one!

CONNECTING WITH
LISTENERS
K-LOVE participated in San Antonio’s Cowboy
Breakfast for the first time this year, giving
staff members a chance to connect with local
listeners in person. The event, in its 37th year,
is the unofficial kickoff for the “San Antonio
Stock Show & Rodeo.” More than 55,000 people
showed up for the free breakfast, including Kirk
Otto, a local listener who came specifically to
meet the K-LOVE staff.
Otto shared with staff member Raul Flores that
he had “stayed away from church for years and
only began attending to appease his girlfriend,
[but] he liked the music so much he kept going.”
Now a faithful listener, Otto says the music and
messages shared by the DJs speak directly to
him and have strengthened his walk with Christ.
As only God could arrange it, Otto was the
randomly selected winner of a text contest that
morning. When Flores called to give him the
good news that he had won two tickets to a
Michael W. Smith concert, Otto was “beside
himself” that he had won.
DONT WALK BY
LOVE IN ACTION
This year’s “Don’t Walk By” events saw nearly 1,000
volunteers reaching out to New York City’s homeless.
Offering immediate relief in the form of a hot meal,
warm blankets and clothing, as well as the chance to
participate in a holistic residential recovery program,
the annual event is a chance for volunteers to actively
live out Christ’s love and kindness, even “unto the
least of these.” For five years, the ministry program
has run every Saturday in February.
K-LOVE staffers Toria Seetaram and Kelley Smith
were present to organize donations and lead
volunteers, but they were also able to spend
time serving the emotional and spiritual needs of
the homeless through conversation and prayer.
Seetaram recalls one woman who, although
technically homeless herself, came to serve and
give back. The woman told Smith she had gone
through the “Teen Challenge” program and now
lives at the Bowery Mission. A daily K-LOVE listener,
she came out to the event to give back through an
organization she feels has given so much to her.

GUAR D
HONORING THE OVERLOOKED
Crossing guard Joyce Hoffman got a surprise
visit this January at Haine Elementary School
in Pittsburgh, Penn. Community members and
teachers nominated Hoffman for the “Crossing
Guard Award,” which K-LOVE staff members
presented to Hoffman with a large group of school
staff on hand. Hoffman’s prize included a K-LOVE
gift basket, tickets to Winter Jam and hot chocolate
to warm up the chilly morning.
After photos of the surprise award were posted on
the school district’s Facebook page, several people
commented that Hoffman’s consistently cheerful
demeanor deserved to be recognized. “She’s always
waving and smiling when I drive past,” Susan
Szczerba posted. “Even if I am having a bad day,
seeing her … puts a smile on my face.”
Hoffman was “so thankful, she cried,” says
Nichole Namacher, the K-LOVE team member who
presented the award. The Pittsburgh K-LOVE Team
gave out four additional Crossing Guard Awards,
the intent of which Namachar says was to “bless
someone who is often overlooked.”

Throughout each day, many of us connect to K-LOVE for various
reasons—for positive, encouraging music; for pastoral prayer; at an event
or connecting through myKLOVE. For each one, K-LOVE means something
different. On myKLOVE, we asked our members to finish this sentence:
K-LOVE is ______. Hearing the heart of the K-LOVE community was
wonderful! Here are some of the things YOU shared:
K- LOVE is:
Just a great way to keep my spirits and my Christian life healthy. ~ Alex
A reminder God is with me. ~ Tracy
The voice of God through song when I need it the most. ~ KB
The soundtrack of my soul. ~ Nancy
We know God is using K-LOVE in powerful ways, but we also know that
God is using you! The words you share bless those who read them in
myKLOVE, so we encourage you to keep sharing and supporting your
K-LOVE family!
