Our GARDEN SHEDS and SUMMERHOUSES are made from the finest Redwood Pine which is slow growing and therefore creates a more dense timber. We specialise in the bespoke manufacture of quality garden buildings and all of our buildings are manufactured in a large range of sizes. All our LOG CABINS are made from good quality kiln dried Nordic Spruce which is taken from responsibly managed and sustainable forests. During the long cold winters the trees grow slowly, which makes the timber especially thick and durable. Log cabins are normally supplied in untreated timber, but you can now have the option of having your cabin dip-treated at the factory prior to despatch. The cabin is submerged in a tank of wood preservative to ensure protection against blue stain, wood destroying fungi, insects and prepares the timber for a pre paint preparation stage. It is our aim to ensure that every stage of your new building is managed as smoothly and efficiently as possible, from concept through ground preparation to assembly and completion. we recommend a concrete slab preferably the same size as the cabin floor to prevent water getting onto the base. While we are delighted for you to use your own contractor, we work very closely with our approved landscapers whose quality of service and reliability is second to none. This gives the benefit of having us retain full control over all aspects of the installation of your new building, so you can relax in the knowledge that everything is being handled on your behalf. DELIVERY All deliveries are made on our own vehicles and are usually off loaded by a HIAB crane, so please let us know if there are any obstacles or overhead cables that might affect this service. If you think access to your property for our larger delivery lorries may be difficult - PLEASE talk to us well in advance. Our Transport Manager can then assess the situation, as a pre-delivery site visit may need to be arranged. FITTING SERVICE We provide an excellent cabin fitting service and pride ourselves on the quality of our work and our aftercare services. Your cabin will be installed efficiently by one of our experienced teams to ensure that your new building is finished to the highest standard. Cabin Treatment All the cabins now have the option to be supplied dip treated with an initial wood preservative, protecting against blue stain, wood destroying fungi and insect infestation. This is highly recommended as the treatment covers and penetrates every piece of timber in the kit. If you choose not to have the dip treatment you should apply a wood preservative inside and out before painting your cabin to ensure the best possible protection. The painting of your cabin is incredibly important. All our cabins need to be fully treated with an appropriate good quality water repellent paint or stain and should be liberally applied with extra focus on joints, corners and knots. Where possible, door and window frames should be removed so all the log ends can be painted. Door & Window Adjustments Occasionally your doors and windows may need adjusting due to the expanding and contracting of the timber. Wood is a natural product so will move throughout the year. All windows and doors are provided with adjustable hinges and the doors and windows can be lifted off their hinges then the hinge can be twisted clockwise or anti clockwise or an Alan key can be used to achieve the desired effect. Do not attempt to plane or cut the doors or windows as this should not be needed if the hinges are adjusted correctly. Please also check that your door and window frames are square and true as this will also have an effect. Please be aware that these are timber garden structures and are subsequently vulnerable to extreme weather conditions.
