Maggiano’s Little Italy 10455 NE 8th Street Bellevue, WA 98004 Moderator Yoram Bauman Stand-Up Economist Yoram Bauman, “the world’s first and only stand-up economist”, performs regularly at colleges and corporate events. He is the co-author of the Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change and the two-volume Cartoon Introduction to Economics. Yoram lives in Seattle, where he founded Non-Profit Comedy, a series of benefit shows. He has a BA in mathematics from Reed College and a Ph. D. in economics from the UW. He is a fellow at Sightline Institute in Seattle. Panelists: Sam Kaplan Int’l Business Consultant Gittes Global Sam Kaplan runs the international business consulting firm, Gittes Global, which provides business development, communications and community/government affairs services for businesses and organizations. Anneliese Vance-Sherman Regional Labor Economist Wash. Employment Security Department Anneliese Vance-Sherman is the labor market economist covering six counties for the Employment Security Department. She has a Ph. D. in Economic Geography from SUNY at Buffalo. David Reich Chief Economist King County David Reich directs the Office of Economic and Financial Analysis which is responsible for the official economic and revenue projections used in the County’s budget process. Dave holds a Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Washington. Bill Virgin Editor and Publisher Northwest Newsletter Group Bill Virgin is the founder, editor and publisher of Washington Manufacturing Alert and Pacific Northwest Rail News. He writes a weekly column on business and economics for The News Tribune in Tacoma, and other columns for Seattle publications.
