Owner Piyush Patel closed the cinema over two years ago in hopes of refurbishing the city landmark into a classier establishment. The $1.3 million project will consolidate the three individual theatres onto two-one smaller cinema for an intimate dinner/theatre and a larger auditorium for general movie viewing. Patel hopes to bring a Mediterranean style menu to the dinner theatre. The newly remodeled Park Cinema is scheduled to show mostly foreign and independent films along with live performances.
