Alamo City outpacing Houston, Dallas - 7/4/2003
In a first-quarter 2003 report just issued by hotel industry experts Source Strategies, seven of the top 25 hotels in the
Lone Star State (based on REVPAR) are located in San Antonio. That is equivalent to the number of hotels in
Dallas and Houston proper combined that broke into the top 25. San Antonio's overall REVPAR dropped 42 cents,
down to an average of $53.86 in the latest report. But even with the drop-off, San Antonio's REVPAR finished
$5.59 ahead of its closest competitor - Austin.

Alamo City hotels get a big boost from holiday travelers - 1/10/2003
According to Smith Travel Research, year-to-date results through November 2002 show across-the-board gains from the Alamo
City hotel market over the same period in 2001. Those gains include a 1.7 percent rise in occupancy in 2002 (up to
64.4 percent) and an average daily rate (ADR) that climbed 1.4 percent, to $87.62. Also in 2002, revenue per available
room (REVPAR) grew by 3.2 percent, to $56.47.
