Materials/Technology
Airlock
A rimless (drill mount) eyewear design that
utilizes a compression mounting system.
Beta Titanium
A flexible and lightweight, yet durable
titanium alloy which is also hypoallergenic.
Copper Alloy
A nickel-free,hypoallergenic metal material.
Co Injection Plastic/Rubber
A two step injection mold process where
Nylon and Rubber are used to create
various frame parts
Customized Zyl
Cellulose Acetate that is customized for a
specific collection with the collection logos,
trademarks or designs.
Flexon Bridge & Temples
Bridges and temples made from memory
metal, which consists mainly of Nickel,
Titanium and other trace elements.
Flexon Bridge
Bridges made from memory metal, which
consists mainly of Nickel, Titanium and
other trace elements.
Flexon Temples
Temples made from memory metal, which
consists mainly of Nickel, Titanium and
other trace elements.
Stainless Steel
A highly corrosion-resistant material that
is made from of an alloy of Chromium and
Iron.
Titanium
A low density, high strength, lightweight
material that is hypoallergenic and
corrosion resistant.
Injected Plastic
Grilamid (see below)

Trogamid (see below)
The above are all nylon-based, translucent,
ultra-lightweight and hypoallergenic plastic
materials that are co-polyamids. These
materials are approximately 20% lighter
than standard plastics and offer superior
comfort, durability and flexibility. Injected
plastics should always use a cold insert.
Frame adjustments can be made after lens
insertion using slight heat, not to exceed
40C/104F.

Used in logo plaques for specific
collections.
Plastic
Nose Pads
Cellulose Acetate/Zyl
A flexible plastic material available in a
wide array of colors and patterns. Zyl
contains organic materials and plasticizers
that is manufactured in sheet form
(extruded) or pellets (injected). Warm the
frame to insert the lenses and to make
frame adjustments. Heat should not
exceed 71C/160F.
Sunglass Lenses
CR 39 Lens
Lightweight, scratch-resistant,
UV protective plastic lenses.
Mag-Set Polarized
A patented clip-on technology which
utilizes specially placed magnets on the
clip-on to lock into hidden magnets in the
frame endpieces which join the clip-on
and frame together. The clip-on houses
polarized lenses that reduce glare, are UV
protective and enhance color, definition
and depth perception.
Mask 2wing
A specialized mask/shield that keeps the
look of a shield while maintaining separate
curvatures for each eye. UV protective.
Nylon Shield
This shield lens is made of an optical
quality, nylon material and is UV protective.
Polarized
Polarized lenses reduce glare created
by reflected light while enhancing color
contrast, definition and depth perception.
Also UV protective.
Polycarbonate Lenses
These lenses are impact-resistant,
lightweight and provide UV protection.
Polycarbonate lenses also have a scratch
resistant coating.
Toric Lenses/Shield
Toric lenses/shields that have different
curvatures in the horizontal and vertical
meridians, enhancing optical clarity and
reducing distortion. UV protective.
UltraClip Polarized
A patented design which uses a special
eye wire material on the base frame and
magnets housed on the interior of the
clip-on to join the front and clip-on together.
The clip-on houses polarized lenses that
greatly reduce glare, and enhance color,
definition and depth perception.

Nose pad arms that can be adjusted for

PC Nosepads
Nose pads that are made from

Nose pads that are made from PVC

Nose pads that are made from soft

Nose pads that are mounted into the pad
box with screws.
Snap-in Nosepads
Nose pads that snap into the pad box.
Hinge
Flex/Spring Hinge
A spring loaded hinge which keeps its
initial adjustment and balance, thereby
significantly reducing the need for
subsequent adjustments.
Stopper Hinge
A feature that prevents the temple tip
from touching the back side of the lens
in order to prevent lens scratching on
sunglasses.
Bridge
Adjustable/Flexible Bridge
A durable bridge which adds comfort and
holds adjustments.
Saddle Bridge
A contoured, fitted bridge.
Unifit Bridge/Universal Bridge
A one-piece stationary bridge that is
contoured to fit the nose.
