Thank you for choosing summer camps with
Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation! Inside this
comprehensive guide is a wide variety of summer
camps geared towards preschoolers, school age and
high school students. Each camp is designed to give
your kiddo a wide arrange of experiences and learning
opportunities, not to mention F.U.N.!
Inclusion Policy
The City of Lake Oswego promotes inclusion and
opportunities for choice to enhance the quality
of life for our residents, including those with
disabilities. If your child has special needs or requires
accommodations to participate in summer camps,
we ask that you schedule a confidential assessment to
determine if your child would benefit from inclusion
aid. To make these arrangements, please call the Teen
& Youth Program Coordinator, Cydny Fletcher at
503-697-6589.
Scholarship Program
The Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department
offers a limited number of partial scholarships for
residents needing financial assistance. Resident
applicants may receive up to a maximum of $50 per
class or camp, up to 50% of the cost of a program,
maximum $160 per person per fiscal year (July 1-June
30) and a maximum of $300 per fiscal year per family.
A completed application must be submitted ten
calendar days prior to the program start date for
processing. Forms are located at www.ci.oswego.or.us/
parksrec or by emailing Dina Balogh at dbalogh@
ci.oswego.or.us.
Become a Jr. Camp Counselor!
Weekly volunteer opportunities are available
throughout the summer; camps include Kindercamp,
Mad Science, Safety Town and more. This opportunity
is open to teens ages 13-17 that are available to make
week-long commitments during the summer months.
Teens will be interviewed during the last two weeks of
May and will be required to attend a volunteer training
on Wednesday, June 8 or Thursday, June 9. A $15 fee
will apply to accepted students.

Interviews are scheduled via email and will include a
tentative scheduling worksheet students are required
to bring. As always, interested teens are encouraged to
inquire about volunteer opportunities themselves; it
helps us get to know you!

We offer before and/or after care for many camps
held at Palisades. Availability of care is listed within
the camp description. Specific costs of care are shown
as optional pricing within online registration. Please

Kindercamp
Learn safety lessons through songs, games, crafts and
stories. Meet our City’s police officers, fire fighters
and take a ride on a school bus. Help kids evaluate
“safe” and “unsafe” situations when confronted with
potentially dangerous circumstances.

*Eat All The Things!
LO Explorers is a weekly-themed camp for
school-age students; combining two field trips a week
and a fresh approach to activities. An information
packet is sent with a schedule of activities and
includes waivers/permission slips. Participants spend
Wednesdays on a swimming field trip and Fridays on a
themed field trip.
Become a part of Lake Oswego’s test kitchen and make
tortilla art, pioneer taffy and win a gold medal in the
Food Olympics. Spend Friday at OMSI! No Camp 7/4

Ropes Course
Help restore local natural areas at Cooks Butte then
head to the Tree to Tree Ropes Course for some
extreme fun!

Ronald McDonald House and Rock
Climbing at French’s Dome
LO TEEN SERVICE CORPS is a volunteer
opportunity for teens ages 13-17. This program is
a three-day commitment; two days of service and
an adventurous activity on the third day. Volunteer
hours can be used towards graduation requirements,
and each teen receives an LO Teen Service Corps
shirt. An information packet is sent with any waivers/
permission slips needed, as well as service and field
trip details. No Before/After Care
Each week provides 10-12 hours of service
Learn to support families in need by helping maintain
the Ronald McDonald House and cook lunch for the
residents and their children in treatment. Then head to
French’s Dome for some rock climbing!

gardening, chickens, and the water cycle. Engage
