AMICIGAR and Friends of Habanos (FOH) come together in Havana November
2016, to celebrate all that is great about the camaraderie of Cuban Cigars!
A week in the city of Havana coinciding with the Encuentro de Amigos de Partagas
(Havana – Cuba) 2016, the AMICIGAR and Friends of Habanos brotherhoods will
hold a series of events that are destined to be both memorable and fun!
W e are taking you back to your first visits to Cuba when things were a little
simpler than they are today. A time when cigars and friendship were the currency
and a “Gala dinner” referred to finding a Paladar that did not make rubber out of
lobster tails and a bottle of Santiago Anejo 11 shared among many. Great times
indeed!
Let us take you through the things we have planned.
Saturday the 12 th of November
Welcome Dinner at El Ajibe
Time: 7.00pm
Inclusive:
• Canapés, Dinner, Cold Beers (Cash bar for anything else)
• Special Opening Night Cigar

Ahh… El Ajibe!
For many of us this was one of our first restaurants we ever visited in Havana!
Sergio and his older brother, Pepe, 82, opened their first restaurant, El Aljibe’s
predecessor, in 1947. Located in the countryside west of Havana, it was called
Rancho Luna. Soon after the Revolution, the restaurant closed down. In 1993,
Sergio was asked if he would help revive Rancho Luna. He agreed and it opened
under a new name, El Aljibe.
El Ajibe is all about its renowned 63-year-old Chicken recipe and here we have
the ultimate in chicken, rice and black beans!
There is a beauty in simplicity. It works so well with good friends and cigars. It is
the perfect location!

Sunday the 13 th of November
Pinar Del Rio Bus tour to the Finca of Hector Luis Prieto
Time: 8.30am from Nacional Hotel
Return: 5.30pm (arriving) the National Hotel.
Inclusive:
• Bus trip
• Sumptuous Roast Pig Lunch
• Two Hector Luis Prieto Cigars
*Cash bar on premises
Cost: 70 Euro
A must for those who have not visited a Tobacco farm (finca) before. A must for
many of us who have!
Experience a full roast pig lunch on the farm and take in the surroundings of one
of the best and most famous fincas in Cuba. Mingle with the Hector Prietos team,
ask questions and experience some of their magnificent farm rolled cigars (two are
included in the price and others can be purchased on site).
W e will gather at the Nacional Hotel Courtyard at 8:30 am sharp. The bus will
depart at 9am sharp.
There is a limit of thirty spots for this tour so please book early in order to avoid
disappointment.

Monday the 14th of November
AMICIGAR MEMBERS ONLY
The traditional AMICIGAR vintage cigar tasting will be hosted over lunch
on Monday 14 th November at 1pm at the LCDH on 5th & 16 th
It is compulsory that everyone must wear the AmiCigar polo for this event.
(Not necessary the new one, any blue one from previous years).
This session is open for 25 smokers ONLY
Time: 1.00pm to 4.30pm.
Inclusive:
• Vintage cigar
• Lunch and basic beverages of beer, water, soft drinks and coffee.
*Cash bar on premises.
Cost: 50 Euro
This much-loved event is a must for all AMIGICAR members. Hosted by Ajay Patel
and Rob Fox, your mind and palate will enter a new realm.

Lunch and Blind Tasting Event at Santy Restaurant
Time: 1.00pm to 3.30pm
Inclusive:
• Extensive lunch, cold beers
• Two beautiful cigars for the blind tasting
Cost: 50 Euro
Santy is my favourite restaurant in Havana and the perfect place for an FOH bind
tasting. The best seafood/Sushi in Cuba and located on the water’s edge. It is
quirky, it is tasty, it is brilliant!
Rob Ayala will choose the cigars (two) for the blind tasting and we will see who
will be crowned the FOH Blind Tasting Champion Cuba 2016! Due to space,
numbers for this lunch are limited so FOH members.

Time: 12.30pm to 5.00pm

• Bus travel from the Nacional Hotel 12.00pm sharp. Return (arriving) 5:30pm
Cost: 125 Euro
W e will disclose the exact location a little bit closer to the date. Playa de Este is a
20 minute taxi ride from Havana but we have arranged for a bus to leave the
Nacional hotel at 12pm sharp.
Time to don your beach gear for an afternoon of magnificent food, music, Mojitos
and cigars! There is something special about having sand between your toes as
you enjoy fantastic company while taking in the beautiful waters of Playa de Este.
It will be a memorable afternoon for the ages!
