Care & Craftsmanship
Situated in the city of Preston in Great Britain, Tetrad have been successfully producing sofas and chairs that are handcrafted to the highest specification for nearly 50 years.
The process of hand building our furniture uses traditional methods
alongside the best of modern techniques. Employing traditional methods, our craftsmen individually hand build each frame using timber
from renewable sources. The frame is carefully constructed, using
hardwood with joints glued, screwed and dowelled together for maximum strength. We use coil seat springs for greater durability ensuring
our furniture will stand the test of time.
We work closely with our suppliers ensuring we buy the latest selection
of materials, components, hides and fabrics from around the world all
of which are subjected to rigorous testing, to ensure they remain at
their best for many years.
At Tetrad we are extremely proud of our British, high quality and stylish products – and hope that you also will feel the same about our

The Harris Tweed Story
From time immemorial, the inhabitants of the Outer Hebrides of
Scotland have woven a beautiful and intricate cloth the world knows
simply as Harris Tweed. The islanders produce this luxury cloth entirely by hand and have long been known for the excellence of their weaving.
With the tweed gaining in popularity it soon became clear that steps
would have to be taken to protect the good name of Harris Tweed from
imitations seeking to cash in on the island’s success story. A new trademark - the well known Harris Tweed Orb and Maltese Cross with the
words Harris Tweed underneath - was developed and approved in 1910.
Over the decades Harris Tweed was embraced by the world. From royalty and landed gentry to Hollywood icons and the finest designers of
couture; the fabric became a wardrobe staple, a must-have item for
discerning customers across the globe.
This was further consolidated when the Harris Tweed Authority was
created in 1993 by an Act of Parliament. Thus the definition of Harris
Tweed became statutory and forever tied the cloth to the Islands.
Harris Tweed remains truly of its time, a cloth that rises above fad and
fashion. As age-old skills are passed on from one generation to the
next, the beloved cloth will always be made by local artisans in one of
the most remote places in the world, to the same exacting standards
and forever meeting the needs of customers across the world who seek
a luxury fabric, longevity and value, style and timeless quality.

Harris Tweed is enduringly stylish yet resilient enough to be used
on Tetrad’s upholstery – made from 100% pure virgin wool, it has
been tested to ensure it will last a lifetime. Naturally warm and
soft, the tweed is washed, beaten and pressed to ensure no itchiness – just the smoothest of weave – perfect for curling up on in
front of the television.
Harris Tweed, as a natural product, is warm in the winter and
cool in the summer. It is an excellent insulator that traps air in
the fibres and retains heat to keep you warm in cooler weather.
In warmer temperatures the wool wicks away moisture from your
body and the air pockets block the external heat from reaching
you, thus keeping you cool.
Therefore Tetrad and Harris Tweed combine to create beautiful
furniture that you will able to enjoy for many years to come –

Barra Chair
A very striking smaller chair with a patchwork back, offering
great comfort and style in a petit package. This occasional chair
will look great with any of the other sofas in the Harris Tweed
Collection. The Barra is also available in any one of the Tweeds
and Hides in the Tetrad Harris Tweed Collection without a patchwork back. The patchwork version is only available with the
Heather tweed as shown.

An Edwardian style fully coil sprung sofa with elegant curves and
simple lines. The Bowmore chair and stool further add to the collection providing a great source of comfort for many years to

A striking and unique sofa made from a stylish combination of
hide and Harris Tweed. The hand polished solid wood legs and
individually hand studded facings combine to add a touch of
glamour.

Carloway
A quintessentially English Chesterfield sofa. Individually hand
buttoned, this sofa will never look out of place, and with feather
filled seat cushions on coil sprung suspension, will be a source of
comfort for many years to come.

A stunning wingchair with a fluted back, offering great comfort
and style. This occasional chair will look great with any of the
sofas in the Harris Tweed Collection.

Pumpkin Stool
A fun but very practical stool that will go with any of the Tetrad
Harris Tweed Collection. The kids will love them – and they can be
used as a footstool or casual seating as required.
The Pumpkin Stool is available in two sizes and only in patchwork
panels as displayed.

MacKenzie
A truly magnificent chair – a classic wing chair that is solid, supportive and comfortable. It has hand studding and hide piping
featured with an added option of leather arms and head rest if
desired.
The MacKenzie chair is available in 3 options and a buttoned stool.

chair and stool.

General Information
All dimensions are in centimetres and are approximate (primarily
due to the overhang of seat cushions which are soft and flexible
in construction). Tetrad reserve the right to alter specifications in
the interest of improved quality.
Every care has been taken to reproduce the colours as accurately
as possible within the tolerances of the print process but to
ensure you are certain of your choice we advise you request a
sample from us via the website or your local stockist –
www.tetrad.co.uk
Feather Scatter & Cushion fillings – After use your cushions may
show signs of compression. For this reason it is recommended
that the cushions are “plumped” on a regular basis in order to
maintain loft and appearance. It is also recommended that seat
cushions where applicable are turned and alternated on a regular
basis in order to minimise wear and tear.
