Join David Glenn, renowned plantsman and owner of the exceptionally beautiful
Lambley Nursery, for a day of presentations and inspiration for both the experienced
and novice gardener.
During the morning David will talk about his experiences with dry climate gardening
at Lambley and how to go about planning and planting a garden where the summers
are very hot and dry and the winters are frosty.
In the afternoon David will discuss the glories of the flower and vegetable garden he
and his artist wife Criss Canning have created at Lambley and how they have
selected the right varieties of vegetables for a garden that gets frost from April until
November as well as how they have selected the range of flowers that they grow not
only for the garden but also for the house and for Criss to paint.
The venue is the beautifully presented garden of Lacou, which features verdant
lawns and unifying plantings of murrayas, pittosporum, buddlejas, star jasmine and
westringias. Roses and irises line walkways beneath wisteria, and there is an
orchard of espaliered apples, cherries, and huge weeping mulberries.
