THE MEDITERRANEAN… Where history
In the Mediterranean, it’s as if all the stars that ever were joined forces. It is a flight of the
imagination and the pure joy of living – all turquoise seas and desert, world-class cities and
humble villages, festivals, music and song. The cradle of civilization, it is the hub of the world’s
ancient trade routes and an oasis for the soul. A call to the heart so to speak.
And when your cruise includes not only roundtrip airfare, but also glorious additional nights in
four-star hotels in Venice and Rome, plus a city tour, a special dinner, breakfasts and all transfers
- the value can only be that of Sunquest's Cruise of a Lifetime!
MSC CRUISES
“The Med” is home to Italy’s MSC Cruises,
a privately owned company with 11 magnificent contemporary vessels comprising one
of the most modern fleets at sea. Expert in
the manifold history, culture and high style
of the Mediterranean, the cruise line’s knowhow is clearly reflected in their marvellous
itineraries.
MSC Fantasia and MSC Magnifica, two brilliant ships introduced in 2008 and 2010 and
the largest ships ever built by a European
owner, reflect not only splendid design and
extravagant interiors, but the highest ecological and environmental standards.
An anything-but-ordinary sensibility
MSC Aurea Spa
Like the Med itself, guest complements
form a kaleidoscope of cultures and you’ll
find a warm and festive continental
ambience.
The spa blends Balinese massage and Turkish bath with a fitness centre staffed by personal trainers, yoga and pilates instructors.
Indulgence Aplenty
Dining offers both casual and cosmopolitan
affairs including main dining rooms with 7course extravaganzas. Specialty restaurants
feature (among others) Tex-Mex, sushi, nouvelle French, Chinese, North American
faves, pizza and generous buffets.
Effortless living in beautiful surroundings, a
convivial social scene and an all-out repertoire of sensual indulgences.
Bring Clothes To Play In
Dress up! Or not. Dress is carefree during
the day and casual sophistication is welcome on sultry Mediterranean evenings.
Buon appetito!

Shore Excursions
MSC’s adventures ashore are all about
“once in a lifetime” experiences. Ask your
travel agent for details.
Facilities & Activities
Whether you’re hot-tubbing over sunset
cocktails, challenging the golf simulator, taking in classes and lectures, or scouting the
onboard shops for baubles, bangles and
beads, there is much ado!
Nights Ignite
Illuminated by romantic moonlight and softly
glowing chandeliers, ships come alive in the
evening. Enjoy world-class performances,
beautiful bars, lounges, discos, casinos and
giant out-door movie screens. And do take
that lovey-dovey turn around the deck.
Weather
If you’ve sailed the Med in summer you
know it’s fabulous (and busy!) On our January, February & March itineraries, the destination enjoys a far less hectic demeanour,
with more relaxed pricing and reduced lineups for key sightseeing. Characteristically
weather is comfortable year ’round with
Funchal, Tenerife, Rhodes, Haifa, Athens,
Barcelona, Malaga and Casablanca generally warmer than say Rome, Genoa and

Venice. Weather is diverse however and can
require a warm jacket, coat and/or umbrella.

Ports of call description
Bari, Italy: The modern heart of Bari is laid out to include a
stunning promenade on the sea and the major shopping district. It’s the city of Saint Nicholas – the original Santa Claus!
Rhodes, Lindos, Greece: One of the most beautiful
Greek islands strewn with medieval castles, houses &
streets. At the port you’ll find a circular Market and
seafront cafés. At the entrance of the port, the famous two
columns with the two Deers mark the place where supposedly once stood the Colossus of Rhodes.
Haifa, Israel: On a natural bay between the Mediterranean Sea and the Carmel mountain, Israel's third largest city is built on terraced landscapes that offer breathtaking
panoramas. Across the sparkling waters of the harbor sits the medieval walled fortress
city of Acre. Further east towers the snow capped peak of Mount Hermon.
Piraeus, Athens, Greece: Home to the Parthenon, Greek soldiers at Constitutional
Square, the exciting ‘Plaka’ dining and shopping district, and the restored 4th century
Olympic Stadium.
Venice, Italy: Jewel-like Venice is a feast for neon-weary eyes; a city of supreme beauty and
charm, with its art and exotic aura surpassed only by its magnificent palazzi. Rich with museums and galleries, lovely restaurants, shops and jaunty gondoliers plying the canals.
