PRESS RELEASE RL NEO CLASSICS FIRST AUCTION RESULTS 13 June 2016, Hong Kong – RL Neo Classics hosted its first auction in Hong Kong on 11 June 2016 at The Repulse Bay. Guy Loveridge, Auctioneer: "Having taken auctions all over Europe, and attended them globally, Dr. Richard Lee's RL Neo Classics' Hong Kong team delivered an astonishingly accomplished and polished first auction event. The setting is a rival to anything Europe has to offer and the sales rate of almost 35% is most encouraging for the future. With superbly executed after auction sales of two more cars, with another pending the result is a positive one for the team and augers well for the next event. I was most encouraged by the willingness of both the ex-‐pat and Hong Kong car communities to embrace what is, in this part of the world, a brand-‐new concept. Now we have shown them what a car auction event looks and feels like, I am certain the next time will be an even bigger success!" Despite the inclement weather, the event garnered over 200 guests visiting over 2 days. The strong showing suggests that the classic car scene is gaining momentum in Hong Kong. Notable guests included the Consul General of Italy in Hong Kong Antonello De Riu, founder of I.T. Shum Ka Wai and wife Chingmy Yau, the Spanish Trade Commissioner Antonia Martinez, the Italian Trade Commissioner Paola Guida, Philip Ma, Chairman of The Classics Car Club of Hong Kong Arthur Lai, and the Chairman of the Collectors Car Club of Hong Kong Connie Lau. Dr. Richard Lee, Founder of RL Neo Classics: “The success of the sale reveals a deep rooted passion for classic cars in Hong Kong. We are extremely proud to have stirred up excitement in this traditionally low-‐profile segment, reflecting the care we pour into selecting our lots. We hope to build a platform synonymous with quality and to continue consigning cars that cater to our buyers in the region.” Auction highlights A perfect condition Giallo race care with only 1,365km, the 1997 Ferrari F355 Challenge Race Car by Pininfarina sold for HK$1,600,000 (Estimate: $1,600,000 -‐ $2,000,000).
