Avoiding the TV

Dr. Frances Jang, MD, FRCPC
Sculptra —the art
of subtle facial
rejuvenation
Often
patients
mention to me that
they want to avoid
the overfilled look
that can sometimes
be associated with “TV Housewives”. This look is
usually caused by the overuse
of Botox and dermal fillers on
the front of the face. Fortunately for our patients, we
have brought to Skinworks the
latest medical breakthrough
to avoid this look—Sculptra.
I am very excited to be
offering Sculptra to my patients at Skinworks. With the
introduction of Sculptra, more
than ever before, I am able to
combine Botox, conventional
dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm,
and now Sculptra, in a synergistic manner to create a more youthful, yet truly balanced and refreshed appearance.
Because achieving ideal results with Sculptra
requires a high level of skill and artistry, I have
undergone training in the use of Sculptra by internationally-renowned Sculptra experts from
both LA and Europe. They have been very generous in sharing their
techniques based on
years of experience
using Sculptra.
patients in over 30 countries and has been approved in Canada for cosmetic medicine since
2006. Sculptra is the newest facial injectable
consisting of PLLA, or poly-L-lactic-acid, a natural biostimulant that promotes skin thickening
by producing new collagen. In contrast to hyalauronic acid fillers, Sculptra works by improving
the skin’s structural support, and when injected
in the appropriate areas, Sculptra can help slim
the appearance of the face and minimize that
squared-off lower jaw area, which is common in
the aging face. This creates a prettier, more
feminine appearance and avoids the overfilled,
puffy-cheeked look so often seen and disliked
Skinworks has been voted “Best Place for Cosmetic

Who can benefit from Sculptra treatments?
Almost all types of faces can benefit from
Sculptra, from the thin-faced 30-somethings, to
the 50+ year-old face; the key is to know where
to inject to maximize benefits. It can help to enhance poor bone structure in a more youthful
face, while restoring both volume loss and creating architectural beauty in
an aging face. Sculptra is
