Warranted for 10 years, every SunShelter Select is custom-made to accommodate your individual needs. The Select offers many product
innovations including our Drop Valance option. Ideal for low sun exposure, the Drop Valance provides cool shade without compromising
your view. The Durasol Drop Valance on your SunShelter Select will increase your outdoor living comfort.
A natural extension to outdoor living, the SunShelter Select is maintenance free and self-storing. To retract, simply touch the button

Custom Sizing
Each SunShelter Select awning is custom designed and sized to
meet your exact specifications. Available from 6' to 40' widths
(in 1⁄4" increments) with 5' to 11'6" projection range.
Reduced Energy Costs
Protective Hood
Durasol retractable awnings effectively filter the sun’s light,
creating a cool and relaxed environment. Solar heat gain is
greatly reduced by limiting the amount of direct sunlight that
enters a window or door. The use of fabric awnings will
reduce solar heat gain by up to 77 percent and lower indoor
temperatures by 10-15 degrees.
Durasol offers a sturdy and aesthetic protective hood that
is available in four colors. The optional hood provides a
“finished” look when the awning is retracted, protecting
the unit from the elements.

Drop Valance
Durasol incorporates state-of-the-art motors and electronics from Somfy,
the industry leader. Durasol also offers a lifetime warranty on the American
Heritage™ by Dooya line of motors that are UL listed and CE approved.
Your Durasol dealer will work with you to design a shading solution that
allows from one touch wireless control to fully-automated functionality.
An optional drop valance provides protection from early
morning and late afternoon sun. Our drop valance rolls up
into our front bar enclosure and is controlled by your choice
of hand-crank or touch-of-a-button, automated operation.

Superior Design and Innovation
Designed for durability and maintenance-free operation, Durasol Awnings
offer the finest component features available in the industry.
1. Protective Hood
6. Front Bar
Our optional protective hood is made from strong, lightweight, UV resistant
PVC and is available in white, ivory or sand to match frame colors (our brown
hood is constructed of powder coated aluminum). Our uniquely designed hood
will shield your shading system from the elements when retracted and is ideal for
use with roof-mounted or wall-mounted units.
Our unique, extruded aluminum component incorporates a multi-chamber
profile that is very compact in design. The use of multiple chambers, with
internal ribs, greatly increases rigidity and reduces deflection providing the most
taut fabric possible and eliminating unsightly front bar sagging and bowing. The
front bar also incorporates specially designed fabric locks to secure the fabric
cover to the framework.
2. Installation Bracket
Specifically designed for each style of mounting application, these extruded
aluminum brackets are tested to withstand the rigors of daily use without
causing damage to your home. All mounting brackets, including our unique
roof-mount bracket system, are fitted with stainless steel fasteners and are treated
with a durable powder-coat finish to resist corrosion.
3. Arm Castings
Vacuum injection castings are produced with the special new alloy, 4250-2B.
This alloy allows us to create arm components that are 5 times more flexibile
and up to 40% stronger than ever before. Our castings are chromate treated
before powder coating to provide superior adhesion. They pass a rigorous 1,000hour ASTM-B117-02 salt spray test – the toughest in the industry.
4. Torsion Bar
The 40mm square bar is the backbone of this shading system. Our torsion bar is
constructed of 6061 T-6 aluminum, with a polyester powder-coated finish. The
large profile dimension ensures that your investment will remain in adjustment
and react properly to various weather conditions.
5. Retractable Arms
Select arms utilize single stainless steel 4mm cable and an exceptionally large,
articulated elbow. These key features ensure that our arms will stand the test
of time. The arm tension is activated through cables and springs. Our cables are
made of 133-strand (10,000-pound tested) aircraft quality stainless steel.
They work in conjunction with the cold-wound internal arm springs.
On 11’6" projections, we incorporate double springs in each arm
for extra tension providing a beautiful, taut fabric cover.

7. Roller Tube
Our premium-grade, cold-rolled steel with a galvanized finish inside and out.
The cut ends are resealed with a galvanized finish to prevent corrosion.
We utilize a 78mm diameter steel roller tube with a 1.25mm wall thickness to
provide a shading system with excellent performance. By combining these
dimensions, we create a shading system that will span up to 20’ without a
center support or a split-roller.
8. Motors & Electronic Controls
Choose from a variety of tubular motor and electronic controls that provide
quiet, touch-of-a-button operating convenience including the options of
automated weather sensing devices. The motor itself is contained within the
roller tube of the unit and is UL approved for safety, along with all electronic
controls.
9. Fabric Cover
First run, 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabrics from the world’s leading suppliers
are cut and sewn using state-of-the-art, computer-aided equipment for a perfect
cover every time. Once the fabric is inspected, we utilize superior quality
Gortex® thread for all seams. This allows Durasol to produce a cover that will
look and perform at a level that exceeds your expectations for years to come.
Durasol Awnings meets or exceeds all U.S. and Canadian
standards in accordance with OSHA and SCC regulations.
You can be assured that our awnings are proven to be of the
highest quality and tested to the following TUV Rheinland
standards: UL 73, UL 60335 and CAN/CSA E335 to receive
this accredited safety mark.
