Grommet expander with a maximum rate of 25 mm
The requested rate will be adjusted with a leveling screw on the reverse side of the tool. The easy
exchange of Prong Sets allows the EXTENDOR D 3 to be equipped from either the left, or the right side.
A footswitch activation allows both hands to remain free for other work.

EXTENDOR D 4
Flexible parts are expanded with the EXTENDOR. Compared to the EXTENDOR D 3/25, the
EXTENDOR D 4 is fitted with a four-piece prong set. The tool is available with a maximum
Spread of 120 mm.

Different grommets usually require different prong sets. PRO.EFF takes this into account, therefore we
have a large selection of standarized prong sets available.
However, it is still recommended to match prong sets to each individual product. A faster and more
efficient production process is the result. Therefore, life-expectancy of the prong sets will increase.

Prong sets with diameters of 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 mm are available. Customized prong sets are also
available.

Prong sets can be quickly and easily replaced.
Individual coding on the prong receptors also help to prevent errors. The easy exchange of Prong Sets
allows the EXTENTOR D3 to be equipped from either the left, or the the right side.
Prong set EXTENDOR D 4 (figure part III)
The same conditions as in the EXTENDOR D3 apply to the four-piece prong sets used by the
EXTENDOR D 4. Individual coding of the receptors avoids the incorrect equipping of the EXTENDOR
D3 -D4.
As mentioned earlier, the wide variety of available grommets makes it occasionally necessary to
individually apply prong sets for a particular process. Therefore PRO.EFF offers, for example:
ground prong sets
ridged prong sets
forged prong sets
- for extremely tight grommets
- for longer grommets
- for very hard materials
Other variations are available. Which prong set is appropriate for which material is tested on original
samples. For further information contact your PRO.EFF team.

The setscrew allows you to infinitely vary the degree of expansion of the prong set. This guarantees
an optimal fit for grommets of all different shapes and sizes. An additional threaded pin protects the
setting, once it is selected.

The positioning mechanism is a further work-saving feature, providing for the precision placement of
the grommet. Additionally, it makes the energy-robbing removal of the grommet from the mandrels
unnecessary. The positioning mechanism, its accompanying cylinder and the appropriate mandrel set
are fitted to each individual project.
Under some circumstances, individual components can not be combined with all EXTENDOR
systems. Please see more information on page accessories.
