Covenant Hospice Has a New Look!
If you’ve visited Covenant’s website lately you’ve noticed a new
look that includes our new logo. We hope that you will give us
your feedback on the website’s new design and expanded content.
Please visit www.covenanthospice.org and take a look at the many
links to our branch offices, physicians, board of directors,
fundraising events and more. We think that you will find lots of
new and interesting information about Covenant’s many programs
and services.
Don’t miss the website’s link to Volunteers…with information for
those who might be interested in joining us and a page for you,
our current volunteers. On the Current Volunteer page you’ll find
the link to our online Volunteer Visit Reports and to the 2013
Annual Volunteer Training Updates. If you have internet
access please take time to read the training information and to
complete the online quiz (only 15 questions) which will be
submitted to us. For those without an email address we will mail
the training module and quiz to you, along with a return stamped
envelope. Please take time to read the information, complete the
quiz and return in the envelope provided. The deadline for
completing this training is December 31st. This is a requirement
for all trained Covenant volunteers.
Happy Holidays!

Covenant Hospice is pleased to announce a new giving opportunity that will help us
honor those who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. The Dale O. Knee
Veterans Support Fund, A Hero’s Wish, has been established in Dr. Knee’s honor, to
meet the special requests and needs of veterans who are Covenant Hospice patients.
This fund will provide financial assistance to meet everyday needs and will also help to
grant the remaining wishes of these heroes. Our veteran patients may need assistance
with the basics of food, shelter and clothing; or they may wish to see a child or
grandchild one last time. You can have a part in meeting these needs and making
these wishes come true.
Our community, staff and volunteers are invited to contribute to the Veterans Support
Fund. Donations of any size are gratefully accepted and appreciated. Your tax
deductible donations will go directly into the Veterans Support Fund and will be used
solely for this purpose. We know that many of you are veterans or are family members
of veterans. The holidays are the perfect time to make a gift in memory or in honor of
your special veteran.
To make a donation:
 Send a check made out to Covenant Hospice, marked a Hero’s Wish, and mail to
the Covenant branch office nearest you or to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th
Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
 Make a donation by credit card using the link:
https://donate.covenanthospice.org/aheroswish
 Be sure to note if you are a veteran or if your donation is in honor or in memory
of a veteran and include the name of the veteran.
Covenant Hospice has raised an initial $10,000 for the Veterans Support Fund. Please
join us as we care for those who served our country. Thank you.

News from Ms. Carolyn
Season’s Greetings!
As we enter into this holiday season, let us not forgot to give thanks for all of our blessings!
Many thanks to each of you for your assistance with the activities of the month of November! We had our
usual chamber breakfast opportunities, our booth at the Northwest Florida State College Annual Career
Fest. The walk for Alzheimer’s in Niceville, not to mention our mini-walk in Laurel Hill. We were able to set
up and man a booth at the Lion’s Club Health Fair at Baker High School. Thanks to each of you for your
dedication and commitment. Your involvement helps us fulfill opportunities in our beloved communities.
Our main event for November was the Veteran’s Day Activities at our local facilities; thanks to our
volunteers who helped make the events of the day so very touching and overwhelmingly successful. We
are sending a special thank you to Dennis Krebs for his skills, his tireless work with the military and
volunteers to pull everything together.
We have had a great number of new volunteers; a great mix of community and patient and family
volunteers. Thanks for being very patient as we move forth.
November was National Hospice Month. In celebration we are using the Random Acts of Kindness Cards
(RAOK); they have been very well received! Thank you Access Team for this wonderful tool to use to
celebrate National Hospice month and use the whole year through!
Deidra and I had the opportunity to speak at New Hope Church in Crestview, where one of our volunteers,
Sandra Mims, and Community Advisory Board Member, Pastor Sherrill Compton serve. We were greeted
warmly and everyone was very attentive as Deidra and I spoke on our services, Five Wishes and RAOK!
Thank you Deidra for rearranging your day to help us keep our commitment to this engagement!
The stork has been very busy, Congratulations to Volunteers Jacob and Jennifer Wartrip on the birth of a
beautiful baby boy Access Representatives Pam Peck and Ian and Rachel Mayhue. Pam welcomed a
beautiful new grandson while Ian and Rachel Mayhue welcomed a beautiful new nephew. Then last but
not least, my very own beautiful new grand baby, Jaylen Allison Williams, 8 lbs 6 oz, 19.75 inches - my love
and joy!
I wish each of you a very blessed Holiday Season!

A Word of Thanks and Appreciation
Thank you to Theresa Lousbury for hosting a
yard sale to help us with moving items from
the craft room that we no longer have space
for. Her efforts netted our department $225.
These funds are earmarked to launch our
Relay for Life efforts!
Happy Holidays!
Best Wishes
We would like to highlight
our entire staff of volunteers.
Thank you all for a great
year.
We will be losing a great Teen Volunteer, who
has given hours over the summer helping with
the BJB and other duties. While we will miss
her, we are excited for her as she heads to
Michigan to see what great things life has to
offer her! We will miss you Danielle Thomas.
Best wishes!
