The City of Ely will provide up to $1.75 per square foot of
new sidewalk for property owners who construct sidewalks
that meet city standards and fill gaps between continuous
sidewalks anywhere in the city during 2009 and 2010. The
Ely City Council adopted this policy to encourage property
owners to construct sidewalks to fill gaps along established
curb and gutter streets to make it easier and safer for
everyone to walk and travel in Ely, contact City Hall for
more information.

3/4-Cup apple cider vinegar
1/2-teaspoon black pepper
Mix sugar, vinegar and pepper in pan.
Bring to a boil and simmer until sugar is
dissolved.
Set aside to cool.

Maybe they flicker off and on, or it’s just plain dark where
it shouldn’t be? Please contact either Ely City Hall
(848-4103) or the electric utility for that area. Alliant Energy
(1-877-740-5050) is the electric utility in most locations in
Ely, or you can report the street light problem to Alliant
online at: www.alliantenergy.com/streetlights. Linn County
Rural Electric (1-800-332-5420) also serves some
locations in Ely.
