Avaunt will be an inspirational, beautifully produced biannual title that references early National Geographic and Twen and more recent titles such as Vogue Homme and The New York Times Magazine. Featuring an extremely high caliber of editorial and photographic contributors, with a large dedicated fashionwell, Avaunt will be unlike anything on the market right now, appealing to people interested not only in adventure and style, but the greater world around them. In 2012, she stand-up paddle boarded 1001 miles down the Lower Missouri having never stand-up paddle boarded before. She spent 60 days sleeping on the banks of the river. AVAUNT CONTENT AVAUNT CONTENT AVAUNT ANNUAL EVENT: EXPERIENCE ADVENTURE October 2015 will see the launch of Avaunt Events. The exciting two-day event will bring together all that is exciting and challenging in the magazine and brings its content to life. Not just a simple sit down series of lectures, it will feature a mixture of key-note speeches by iconic men and women, plus events with a more hands on approach, from extraordinary food and drink experiences to next generation science experiences that will blow your mind. The events will take place in the Royal Geographic Society and The Royal Institute on the 6th and 7th October 2015. THE AVAUNT BRAND Avaunt will communicate directly with the growing adventure lifestyle market with apps, sponsored events, lectures and podcasts, and will be seeking sponsorship for an annual Avaunt summit, a ticket-based event with inspirational speakers and exhibits. We will also be looking to co-produce limited edition apparel lines with boutique clothing brands, to maximise profit and creative control. READER PROFILE* The Avaunt reader will be mostly male, aged 30+ and working in professional careers. They use their free time to take part in adventure activities such as Ironman, Marathon des Sables, selforganised mountaineering and long-distance cycle journeys. They'll be well educated, well traveled and savvy about adventure brands and adventure content in general. They'll be looking for stories and photography beyond the average adventure editorial that has now become mainstream. They are interested in exploration and science and the world at large, but also fashion, taking pride in how they look and what they buy. In other words, they are a discerning audience who demand more. They enjoy buying expensive kit (the bikes, the clothes, the gadgets) and are highly motivated. They are individuals who once subscribed to National Geographic and Wonderlust, but need something more intelligent, stylish and authentic. • Taken from an independent Avaunt survey, October 2013 Details: Male Female 82% 18% 18-24 25-49 49+ 13% 58% 29% HHI: £65,000+ £100,000+ £150,000+ 33% 55% 12% Home Owners 88% AB Demographic 73% Education: Higher Education degree Postgraduate degree Are interested in adventure and history Are interested in art and literature Are interested in fashion Are interested in science Are bored of the current men’s adventure market Spend more than £4,000 on clothes per year 81% 22% 96% 86% 91% 71% 79% 74% DISTRIBUTION + LAUNCH Avaunt will be distributed internationally via Comag, one of the most dynamic marketing and distribution companies in the world.
