Birthdays
THUNDERWORD
August 2014
It’s August. .Yep, You Heard Right!
The “dog days of summer” are quickly approaching. Our Nazareth Day Car Show is in the
history book already. It was a GREAT show! As
usual, you, my fellow club members, did a great
job supporting the show! While the “official”
figures are still being tabulated, we had over
200 vehicles at the show, 47 of which where
Thunderbirds! We might have to think about
doing an all Thunderbird show next year too!
The NJTA made a strong showing to support our
show, so next year we owe them the same!
For those not able to attend the convention, the
Wheels of Faith Car Show is on Saturday, August
16th in Whitehall.
The month wraps up with the Slatington Annual
Car Show on Sunday, August 31st.
There are several more shows and cruises in the
area, They are listed under the Local Shows and
Events section on our newsletter.
We received 38 Gift Baskets donations from
club members, some local vendors, Haldeman
Ford, Nazareth Ford and Brown Daub Chevrolet.
Thanks You all for your support! More on the
show starting on page 4.
Okay, so what’s up for August….A L O T !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We start off with Das Awkscht Fescht on August
1st thru 3rd. Our General Meeting follows on
Tuesday, August 5th with our Annual Mini Golf
Outing at Lucky Strokes. We will be meeting
there at 6:00 pm. They have a good grille too, so
we typically eat there. Bring your T-Bird as we
normally display them while we play.
The 21st Annual ITC Convention is August 12th
thru 17th in Charlotte, NC.

President’s Message
Hello Lehigh Valley Members,
By the time you read this, the 38th Annual Nazareth Day Car Show is over ! What a
spectacular show, with record attendance of over two hundred vehicles. The weather
was also picture perfect. While I was walking around the show field, attendees made it
known that they were having a good time. I am pleased to say that North Jersey Thunderbird Club came out, as well as members from the New York area Thunderbird Club
also. Thank You for all of you, that came out and showed your cars, you made the
show a success. I would also like to personally thank the car show committee members that worked so hard to put this show on. Without all of you, this show would not be
possible. This is the second year for the Basket raffle at the show, another welcomed
addition. Thank s to all who contributed to this. I hope to see more of you at next years
Nazareth Car Show.
We are less than three weeks away from the ITC Convention in Charlotte, August
12th-17th. I hope that everyone that is going made their reservations. Here’s wishing
each of you a safe trip and a great time!
See you at our next general meeting and mini-golf outing at Lucky Strokes in Bath,
PA on August 5th. Let’s see a big turnout! This is your club, let’s have some fun!
Mike

The New “Mystery Tom” question:
What year(s) Thunderbird would share an Interior part with what year full size Ford part and what
was the part?
Clue # 2: The vehicle was also available with a 375 HP engine.

2014 Nazareth Day Car Show
The day was picture perfect
weather wise. The grass was
relatively dry. The team worked
like a well oiled machine preparing the show field for the
event.
Participants started showing
up at 7:15 am for the 8:00 am
registration and by 8:00 am,
the line was almost back to the
park entrance! Each vehicle
was greeted as they entered
the show area and directed to
the proper registration area.
Registration processed each
vehicle quickly and directed
them to the photo area. The
photography team identified
each vehicle and stickered
them with an ID number to
reference their plaque. The
photo was then taken and the
participant was directed to
parking. Our parking team
moved them quickly into a well
planned space, with plenty of
room to open doors without
hitting the vehicle next door.
As many of us experienced, we
were told how enjoyable our
show is and combined with the
Nazareth Community Day, provides a fun atmosphere for the
Car Show!
Sun and mild weather, good
music, smiles, laughter and
beautiful vehicles filled the
event, making this one of the
best shows in recent years !
Thank You to each and every
club member as you made this
all happen!
And for a “Cheap Plug” don’t
forget to sign up for the show
we sponsor in October in Bath,
Pa. See page 13 for the form!
Thanks Frank for the photos !
