Word from the Director
Parks & Recreation
Lemoore Parks and
Recreation staff is excited
about 2015!
I would like to introduce our
two newest staff members.
Jerome Chappelle and
Juan Cuevas. Please come
by our offices located at
721 Cinnamon Drive and
introduce yourself to these
fine young men and share
with them what offerings
you would like to see in our community.
The Parks and Recreation Commission meet on the
second Tuesday of each month at 429 “C” street in
the Council Chambers at 7:00 PM. The Commission
appreciates the community’s ideas and suggestions
to improve the department and offerings for the
citizens of Lemoore. Lemoore Recreation staff is
always looking for qualified instructors in the arts
sports and? Bring your ideas and let’s talk.
A new kitchen was completed at the Lemoore
Recreation Center in 2014 giving the facility
the ability to accommodate large gatherings for
the community, please come by for a tour. New
restrooms will be completed early in 2015. A new
BMX bicycle track will be constructed in 2015 south
of town next to the race track.
I apologize for the long delay in the reopening of
the formerly named 19th avenue Park, now Kings
Lions Complex. The ball fields and the dog park
will open in the spring/early summer of 2015. Staff
is looking forward to the relationship and support
of the Kings Lions to support the park and provide
community events the community will undoubtedly
enjoy. Planning will begin this year designing a new
playground and pavilion at Kings Lions Complex.
As always, I want to thank all of the individuals and
organizations that make Lemoore Recreation a
success Thank You!

CrossFit
CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness
(constantly varied functional movements performed
at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the
community that spontaneously arises when people do
these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect
of CrossFit is a key component to why it’s so effective.

Zumba Fitness
It’s not a dance class, it’s a party! No one is judging
you by your dance abilities. Just have fun and feel the
music.
It’s fun and effective, using interval training combining
fast and slow rhythms for an effective aerobics workout
while at the same time targeting your legs, abs, gluteus
and arms.
Based on the principle that workouts should be “FUN
AND EASY”. Zumba is not only great for the body it is
also great for the mind. It is a “feel happy workout!”
